rough translation, note althought chinese is my mother tongue im not fantastic at it:
June: today i brought you persimmon, and also cut pineapple for you. Then i made you a pancake, bought from the store. Try a mouth and tell me if you like it or not, if you like it I'll buy it again, if not I won't buy anymore. Try a mouth.
Lao Lao: noises of agreement and acknowledgement.
Lao Lao: 好!meaning good
June: do you like it?
Lao Lao: I like it
36:00
June: today feels like....
Lao Lao: eh? cant see [herself in the camera?] anymore
June: i can see it
Lao Lao: oh you can see it
June: yes, if you want to see it i can turn it around for you to see. here, can you see it now?
Lao Lao: oh i can see it now, *laughs*
June: is it fun?
Lao Lao: nods
VERY CUTE MOMENT 36:30
Lao Lao: with you accompanying me, im so happy 😄
June: that's great, Lao Lao
you are so nice to translate thank you. Just watching their interactions was enough to make me teary. But now knowing what they said, I'm a full mess haha
Even before I read your translation I was touched by June stroll with grandma. You could hear and see the love even before the words added sense. Thank you for the translation, and thank you June for sharing grandma with us
Your grandma looks so adorable. Her kindness just shines through. She’d have wrapped around her little finger in no time. Love ya Lao Lao. 🥰
Thank you!! 💕
Thank you for the translation! I love seeing June's interaction with Lao Lao and being able to understand what's being said just makes it even more touching.
If June is here there’s no need to stay subscribed to Delish😂
Agreed. The only reason I sub to Delish is because of June. Now that budget eats is off the table, unsub immediately lol
@@PoseidonOwO facts

True
Yaaaaaaas. Unsubscribed to Delish like a week ago coz June 😂😂😂
My 11 year old has been sick for a week and wanted to watch the "fun lady who does budget eats" he then was on a mission to find where June went. He has laid in Bed binging your channel and telling me that he is so glad your doing okay. I hope you know how much strangers love you.❤
Honestly june was carrying delish so if anything she can build a bigger career all by herself with no take aways. June is a very smart and strong women she’ll get through things she’ll more than get through.
Hi, sorry but I seem to have missed why June left Delish. Do you know?
Why did June leave Delish? Is she still together with Aaron?
@@AchiraDasgupta essentially she had a crappy toxic manager and when she called him out, he made it his mission to get rid of her. After they lowballed her on a tv show that she turned down, they used that as a reason to fire her. So, she was set up.
Sometimes, people really suck.
June’s version of “I don’t feel like cooking” is completely different from my version of “I don’t feel like cooking”
This is basically like if Budget Eats (without a budget) had a baby with a vlog, and I'm not mad at it. Thanks June!
Exactly I love it
And no budget baby!
I agree! I love it and it's good to see more of June's life and her friends.
Love it!
Exactly what i thought too!!🙌
June - you're totally right. Grief *can* change our perspective on trying stuff/buying items/experiencing new things. My dad died when I was twelve and he was only forty-three, and several other close family members also died between when I was ten to twenty-one. Honestly, try the interesting snacks. Buy your favourite foods. Purchase those you love just for their nostalgia value. You and your life are worth it. Re the long COVID, as someone with M.E. you just do the best you can with the resources you have each day. You are doing your best, and your best is enough
My grandma died over the summer. My mom and I both found ourselves wanting foods associated with her, including heavenly hash (also called ambrosia salad) and the cake she made for any time people were coming for dinner or there was a church potluck. Food memories are a big thing. I remembered my grandma's favorite flavor for jams and candies was raspberries, which is mine too. I remember her giving us her favorite candies and how she gave me coffee that was half either ice cream or cool whip because I couldn't have hot chocolate. She would try anything her grandkids offered but would never take the last piece. She would fill us with chocolates that were gifted to her and her favorites were always Fannie May. Those are the things we keep with us and pass down.
@@psycobasschick In alot of cultures that's how we pay homage to our passed on loved ones. Consume or offerings of their favorite foods/drinks.
June: “Remember that loving others means taking care of yourself first so you can be there for them. Mom was the one who taught me that by fucking dying.”
Omigod I spat out my coffee out on my cats ass at this! fucking love you June! Your mom would be so proud of the amazing and hilarious human you are!
Yes to the Dollar Tree question, June. It would be great to see how you work your magic on those ingredients.
Yessss i agree with this
Yes, please!
ok, as it turns out I don't need fancy editing, I just need June buying, tasting and cooking stuff🥰😅 also the lotus gave me all the feels because I remember you calling your mom in a budget eats about them💙
Same!!!
I remember that was the first video of June that I watched
I was going to say this too. The lotus root phone call!🥰
Exactly yes! ❤️
Awww ya I thought about that too!
Ok, me going to the Hmart two days ago for the first time in my life, spending $180 on random things and thinking “June wouldn’t approve of this much spending”, and June then posting this video almost spending the same amount???? This is so weird and also so reassuring that I made the right decision. Lol just thought id share. ❤
HMart is like a wonderland, just trim some money off next month's entertainment budget. Totally worth a concert ticket or two.
When grandma said “I’m so happy you are accompanying me” I almost cried! I love how grandma expresses her love for you June!
Do you mind translating their conversation? I know nothing about Mandarin, but all I know is that June’s grandma is adorable :)
Watching June cook is like therapy. I'm so glad she's continuing to give us a glimpse of her life. Thanks June!
This 51-year-old mother from Michigan loved this episode. Your description of food is spectacular. I wish you love, I wish you joy, and I wish you health sweet young lady. Never give up. You are valued beyond words.
This 43 year old aunt from Western Massachusetts feels the same way~!!
This 45 year old mom from Germany thinks the same. When June describes food, you learn what makes food good.
🥺❤️🍰
This mom from Oregon does as well. We love you June, and so inspiring!!!
Hey Sis(Junelikethemonth)!
Glad you see you back! Missed your vids. Don't worry about what's going on with you, IT'S NORMAL!!! You miss Mom and the ick cough got you. I went through similar mentality/manic/weird stuff too, and still do kinda 7yrs later. But, Honestly, enjoy life and Moms would want us to remember and live in their honor. That's the best honor to them! Love ya chikie, hang in! You're doing great!!!!!!
Loved watching Budget Eats, but I think I love watching you without Delish restrictions even more!
Agree!
Me too I love me some june
Pls don’t ever stop making content! You have no idea how much we enjoy it. You are so awesome, your content always raises my spirits when I’m feeling down. Me and my 8yr old daughter Madison watch you together ALL the time ❤
This is pretty much my ideal form of June content. No pressure though if the long format becomes too much for you--I will watch anything you post. As always, thanks for your work, and thanks for sharing!!
I had this exact same thought process! I concur :)
Anyone else rewatching to make sure June makes money on this video? 😂
I'm also letting the ads run, where I normally skip when I can. I heard from another utuber that watching the ads helps them as well, dk if it's true or not.. but, I figured why not? 🤷♀️
@@SauerPatchGardening they do! I have premium and read that it usually leads to more income for UA-camrs. I'm not really sure how that works though lol
@@Azayas1807 its because they get paid for putting ads into videos they post , some cost more than others depends on which one they pick and if people watch the ads all the way
@@anuklong7835 I was saying how it works with premium since there aren't ads and it's a set fee monthly
@@Azayas1807 If you're a UA-cam Premium member, you won't see ads, so we share your monthly membership fee with creators. Best of all, the more videos you watch from your favorite creators, the more money they make.
June I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. My dad passed away unexpectedly last year, and somehow your videos about your mom really helped me deal with my own grief. There’s so many things stuck in my head that I couldn’t put into words, and you articulated so well. Sometimes I think your videos are more therapeutic than actually going to a therapist ❤
Going to a therapist is how I'm able to sort my feelings 💞
June's full sensory experience of the fresh cacao pod and description of the inner cacao seed was worth the cost of of the exotic fruit. So poetic!
My favorite quote from this video: "Sometimes life gives you lemons and all you can do is compost them. And if you're feeling lazy, it just goes straight in the trash. Lemons." - June 2023 (2022?)
Gonna have my friend make me a sticker with this, if that's okay?
Thank you for the great content!!
Of course, have fun 🍋!

It makes me SO happy to see June in a kitchen that can accommodate her cooking!
Why is she in a different kitchen? I feel like I’m missing something
it's a long story... her mom's gone to heaven, she broke up with her long time partner, since then she had been looking for a new apartment for a while, she found one, she is stressed out with the work loath and miscommunication issues at Delish so after a while they fired her, .... yeah
lot of stuffs happened

I loved the first grandma visit- "Here's some pineapple" "Okay" "Persimmon" "Okay" "Sesame Pancake" OMG GIMME
Did I hear correctly? Aaron's place? I'm so sorry to hear of all the challenges June has had lately but I'm happy to be gifted this video in the midst of it all.
I thought the same thing. In the beginning she said something about living on her own. So sad :(
It was a mutual separation! They are much happier with this arrangement and are still great friends. 😊
@@hannahfarley so happy. Living on ones own is liberating!
@@ALittleBitOSunshine sad about the split, not sad about living on her own 🙄
I thought I heard wrong too. But, I’m happy for her future growth as a new beginning. Been there!!
I think my favorite thing about June is she has google at her fingertips but she chooses to experiment and experience things herself. She is so open and curious and her existence is comforting. 💗
YES!!! I was thinking the SAME thing. I’m so happy to see a new video from her.
If you live in queens you know how big of a deal this hmart was. June knows what we want!
On the days when depression makes even getting out of bed feel like a waste of energy, seeing June finding so much joy in food and doing what she can to live her life even on her bad days, is inspiring and energizing. Thanks for sharing this with the world❤

Loved meeting your grandma. She is so beautiful ♥️
only june can make a 2 hour video and get me excited to watch... i repeat... ONLY JUNE
I didn’t even notice it was 2 hours
I had no clue all this went down with Delish and I was so confused about you visiting Aaron and Fred -- but it sounds like you are making it work. Love your content and the way you stick to your guns

Hey June, my mom passed away this Saturday unexpectedly. Your videos have been a huge source of comfort. 💜💗
Edit: Your comment at 49:00 got one of the first LOL's from me in days.
💞
Condolences.
I'm so sorry!
So so sorry.
Lots of hugs ❤
Sorry for your loss
As a Malaysian, gotta say it hurt to watch you cut into the mangosteen like that. I always put one between my palms and squeeze hard until it cracks open. Enjoyed the video!!!
WHOA!!!! Noted! TY!
and apparently the trick i learnt is that how many bumps it has on its butt, how many pieces of meat it has in it
Sameeee, and remember to roll it around a bit before you open it so the pieces separate from the skin
It’s nice that you’re still friends with Aaron.. and he’s over to help.
I'm sorry for your mom's passing. I grew up working class and my mom worked hard to provide for me, but she always made it a point to splurge sometimes on special ingredients for me like crab legs and pomegranates because she knew I liked them. Definitely gave me the perspective of enjoying food and letting yourself live a little outside of your budget sometimes.
I love your livestreams but truthfully this style is my comfort watch. I’m sure I’ll end up re-watching this more times than I care to admit. You’re so talented and your mistakes help me feel better whenever I make a mistake cooking. (And your tips on how to fix things).
I’m back rewatching this after taking three days to get through it the first time. The combinations of foods and seasonings go by so fast I’ll probably rewatch again a few more times and fast forward to the meals. I agree, this is definitely a comfort watch!
I love how detailed you are when describing flavors and textures.
I have my Dad's wooden spoon, which is worn down with use. Every time I cook with it, I think to myself "he held this" and I remember all the great food we made together, and our brief shared history. My grief journey is further along than yours Miss June, yet no less easier. Your subs support you in yours 💔
June, I’m so glad you’re on your own. I had no ideas what delish was before you and I have no interest in watching their videos after you. I hope your dreams come true and we continue to learn from you! ❤
June this was spectacular! What an awesome debut. I love the haul, the cooking, the guests. I’ve missed your creativity in the kitchen. Yay!
In the future I think you should split this into multiple parts so you can earn more ad revenue. A 2 hour video is a lot of work, your old employer would've milked this content for months! You can do one shopping vlog, one haul video with taste test, what I eat in a week, cooking for grandma and the visit, and recipe videos. We would watch them all for you! Also, girl, nobody would judge you for taking an Uber or taxi home when you have covid exhaustion and a 40min walk carrying twice your body mass! Take care of yourself first! Also, papaya has papain which is an enzyme that eats away at skin cells, like when you eat too much pineapple and it burns your tongue from the bromaline.
June, I love that you honored your mom through out this video. Be kind to yourself. Loosing your mom is the greatest grief. Hugs to you.
Your episodes were the only videos I ever watched where you were before. I love your buying random foods and making interesting meals out of them. It gives me so many ideas for substitutions since I'm on a specialized diet. It's great! I hope this video makes you lots of money, too, because you absolutely deserve it!
Also, taking zinc and magnesium really helped me get over long-c o v I d. Hope you feel better soon!
This is hands down the best thing on UA-cam. I hope many many humans discover it
Yes, you have Dutch viewers. I laughed so hard when I saw the Borrelnoten......hope you enjoyed all the snacks 🙂
When they asked that and looked at the camera, I waved at the video.😁
Thank you for everything you create and share with us. I love your longform content in general, but I am especially grateful for the moments of vulnerability you share. I don't just mean the moments when you discuss your mental health, though I relate to those moments, but also the moments when you are trying something new and are uncertain. It is hard to be vulnerable with people in one's life, those close to us, so I imagine it is even harder when one puts those moments online. They mean a lot to me, though. It is a reminder that human experiences are not so different at times and maybe we need to check in with ourselves a little more often.
Doing covid tests in the kitchen while cooking for grandma is a vibe. Love how responsible you are being. I appreciate you and you bring me so much joy :)
This video is the best thing that has happened in the last weeks. Thank you June, I know you are going through a lot and still made this AWESOME video that I could watch as a movie for days and days!

I teared up at the end ❤ I’m sure your Mom is with you in every way June and she’s also very proud of you.
Here to help the algorithm and exclaim my happiness that these kinds of videos are making their way onto your personal channel!
I also love her voiceovers. The first one I remember seeing was when she documented the processing of her mother’s death and it was so poetically visceral!!! So philosophically poignant. It was like a window into her inner world and psyche.
I love how you honor your mom. I lost my mom almost five years ago and lost my dad last September, and, like you, I find myself eating and doing things I remember from childhood. It somehow makes you feel closer to them. ❤
I am so glad to see a video and see you doing well. Long Covid is horrendous and I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with it. And I’m still so sorry for the loss of your mom. 💞💞 As a mom I can tell you I think she would be proud of you. And I understand that feeling of live life as full as you can. When I lost my grandma (who raised me) I was pregnant with my third (of 4) daughters and I have tried, every single day since, despite chronic illness, to live to the fullest, to teach my girls to enjoy their family and friends and lives and to make sure I tell my parents and siblings and husband and daughters EVERYDAY how much I love them.
It took me about 2 days to finish this whole video from interruptions and etc....BUT I finished it and needed this content in my life. All is well with the world. Thank you for the touching tribute of your Mom. I appreciate my mom everyday more than ever. Thank you June.

JUNE! My favorite sister-from-another-mother who also passed away! I am neutral about you leaving Delish because I do not know the details of why you left, nor is it really any of my business. I just hope that your Delish departure was what you wanted, needed, and will allow you to develop your own voice, on your own platform, and on your own terms. Your fans below also mentioned that you and Aaron parted ways. I do hope that you both are okay and will be able to heal and move forward successfully on your own respective paths. In any event, I watched your videos SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE OF YOU; NOT because you were with Delish, or with Aaron, or tending to Fred. I am your loyal fan and will continue to watch your creative, ecologically and economically and ethnically conscious food and cooking content whenever you produce them! I wish you good health, fun adventures, great food, and success going forward into the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit of 2023!
the key with chestnuts is preparing them in small batches. it is easiest to peel them while they're still hot. you can also soak them before scoring, that way the outer skin is a little looser and softer but sometimes they're slippery when wet so be very careful. my family grows and harvests chestnuts in greece and i've been preparing and eating them since i was a child :)
I love H Mart! I am that old white lady who goes in with screen shots from UA-cam Asian cooking videos on my phone of ingredients I need and can’t pronounce holding up the pictures for the clerks who never fail to help me find it. When I find myself stopping in there and knowing what I’m buying I feel all international and fancy. 😂
It’s the nonfood items that seduce me. Cute stuff and clever stuff. I’ve bought aprons and rice bowls and kawaii egg shapers for grandkid’s bento boxes. lol They have a killer ‘deli’ where we get lunch and such great prices! It’s a theme park. An outing. For sure.

1:00:26 The papaya has a natural enzyme called papain, that is widely used in face peeling solutions! It breaks down protein in the same way that pineapple does when you eat a lot of it. It is also used in meat tenderisers! That's why if you have sensitive skin you might feel irritation.

I'm late but wanted to add. Fred loves you so very much. The way he follows you and wanted to interact shows his love. He's being standoffish at first was to show he was a little upset you aren't there. With how quickly he turned around was so lovely.
Why isn't she living with Erin and Fred atm?
i’ve already watched this 3 times since it premiered. to say I love it is an understatement!!!! you’re amazing june
This is a masterpiece!!! Thank you June! We are sooo looking forward to more of this long form content!!! we could watch you all day, everyday describing food
Love listening to these as I work ❤ June always has the most illustrated, thoughtful descriptions
June these are my favourite comfort videos!! Please keep making them, and as long as possible!! Also Happy New Year
I love that you bought things that you haven’t had before or are trying again! I am so excited, I am only 11 minutes in and can’t wait to continue watching!
You are the best June! I never want to stop watching you cook. Thank you for all you share. Btw, your grandma is a sweet lady xxx
I love how honest you are. Your personality is wonderful! ❤
Loved this video so much. I watched it throughout the week in bits and pieces! It helped me relax a lot.
I didn’t know you live alone, I must have missed something! I really enjoyed all of this!!! And you definitely did the right thing!! Buy, cook, eat, snack and enjoy your life while you can!!!! Our time in this realm is very limited and we should do every single thing our hearts desire❤️❤️
June and Aaron went their separate ways and she ended her employment with Delish. All very undramatic.
So you’ll be seeing her here from now on😊
@@idalaursen8935 thanks for the explanation.
@@idalaursen8935 who has Fred?
@@idalaursen8935 I knew the delish thing but not the Aaron thing. I'm bummed... They have been partners for so long and seemed to work as a weird food loving pair that complemented each other well. I hope they are both okay and I wish the best for Aaron. I love June and because of her I learned to love Aaron too, but I don't think he is on UA-cam.
@@idalaursen8935 oh no I hope June is okay but also I feel bad for Fred. 😥 poor kitty will miss her. I'm sure it was very hard for her to leave him too. 💔 If you read this June we may just watch your content online but we care a lot about you. I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself.
