    hey guys. Thank you sooooooo much for the kind words! One thing you didn't mention (cause you did not know) is that we are currently testing this in other countries as well. It works in Canada and Mexico as well, for those that travel there (and we are testing in Many other countries as well...... Domincan Republic, Colombia, Panama, etc, etc). The international is a work in progress, and getting better every week as we fine tune it! People should just contact us for details on that. Feel free to ask for me..... Jesse.... owner of the company if needed. But keep in mind, my guys that work for me are incredible as well!

    Great video! Thank you! If I was still looking for a good internet option this sounds great, however Ive been using Homefi's portable router in my RV for the past two years and its worked perfectly for all my streaming services and for my remote work as well. I really recommend this as another option!

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  4 місяці тому

      You have to choose what works for you however, I couldn't recommend Homefi. There's a number of reasons why. The router design is not utilitarian design as it is more geared towards Aesthetics and user-friendliness. It does not have the ability for an external antenna(like Weboost) to be mounted for remote locations. The internal broadcast ability is hindered by the fact that it has no external broadcast antennas instead relies upon something much smaller internally. Which does cause the ability for our personal devices and laptops to not connect at a good enough signal to potentially take advantage of the full speed that is being offered by the cell company. For example, we could run our EZCOM unit in the RV during our traveling and when we drove through locations that our T-Mobile cell phones would not pick up our EZCOM router would supply internet using AT&T even though we were inside the truck driving down the road. And for $139 monthly, although generously offering 800 gigabytes for that dollar amount still is not as good as unlimited as a lot of UA-camrs and people that use the device constantly for watching and streaming on a regular basis would exceed 1 terabyte. Finally, not having to pick just one carrier and hope that the area in which you travel in is serviced by that choice the EZCOM quad band offers four different carriers that the device will choose based on which one is strongest to the area in which you travel at no additional cost. It's like having four different hotspots from four different carriers.

      We had starlink. But the problem is if you think about where people are we at usually they Park their rigs underneath trees because it's a wooded area. So now you have a problem with satellite signal especially when it rains.

      It's nice when you limit your travel to just a few places knowing what coverage is available.. For us we needed basically unlimited internet coverage and our 1st year full time we covered 33 states.. Ez-Com worked well for us..

    Its got a WAN Ethernet port too. This means you can have another Internet via hardwire like cablemodem or any other generic Internet connection and it can probably failover between network types and share bandwidth between them.

    I have friends that are using Starlink on travel trailers, motorhomes, and houseboats. They get great coverage anywhere they can see sky because there are so many satellites, even in narrow canyons. Starlink seems like a simpler and more reliable way to go for internet to me. Most of these peoples excursions are in areas with limited cell phone coverage or none at all. Doesn't matter to them.

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  3 місяці тому

      For normal streaming maybe watching videos occasionally and checking emails starlink did okay. If you have watched previous videos we had starlink for a period of time. We traveled the country for 3 years and we have found that this way, with EZCOM is the best way for heavy internet users to get the speed that they need. Randomly we would have a need for longer range and that took nothing more then using our portable weboost antenna mast... the majority of the people that are rving find themselves parking in a wooded area and most of the RV sites and a lot of these locations are shaded two conditions in which starlink does not like to operate..

      @@Rvdaydream I guess we live in different parts of the country. I live 120 miles from the nearest freeway in one direction and 150 miles away in the other direction. We do have fiber optic servering out town with 1 gig service and the fiber also feeds the local 5G Verizon towers. Currently I have about 4 Mps with the 5G (lots of tourists loading it down). I know when I have to use 5G when the ISP is down it is pretty painful where we are. But here in the Desert Southwest (away from cities) the 5G coverage is limited and the speeds are also limited when it is available.

    Paying for 4 different plans is crazy for most people unless you have a business that would make it a requirement. Most folks going to have 1 provider

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  4 місяці тому

      Using traditional phone hotspot plans for travel does not work while traveling all over the country... Especially, if you are streaming or uploading content... Phone hotspot use is limited by being less prioritized based on cell tower use. Meaning, dedicated hotspot plans get more speed allocation over phones. Plus the majority of hotspot usage your phone is allowed to use, (while deemed as unlimited), it is de-prioritized once your usage exceeds a certain amount for the month until the next billing cycle..
      The other thing, with EZCOM you are not paying for 4 lines, it's $139 a month, the router chooses which of the four carriers are the strongest signal and allows you to use a single carriers signal for connection... Most 2-3 line cell phone plans cost about the same. But, again they could be put at the back of the "priority line" compared to dedicated hotspot plans. We traveled the country full-time in a RV and would use 600 to over 1tb of internet monthly.. We streamed security cameras, movies, uploaded videos and our rig had wifi connected automations for thermostat control, power management and other requirements that really ate up data.. We too had tried(T-Mobile cell phone plan) as our only cell data provider but even though we had 3 phone lines ($108mnth) we were severely limited by how fast and how much we could actually use as a dedicated hotspot even though our plan was (unlimited) they would de-prioritize how the data got used to the point where it crawled in speed.. Remember, with cell phone hotspot plans the carriers don't expect you to use your phone as a dedicated hotspot but rather a "occasional use" hotspot.. With cell data hotspot plans they are faster. And even though one of your lines(sim) is being used in a router, it is still a cell phone data plan and regulated as such.. I agree though, if you are just checking emails and occasionally streaming a few movies or TV shows a month you'll be fine AS LONG as you stay in an area that has coverage for your single carrier plan but, Traveling to new areas of the country you'll eventually find that no one carrier can cover it all.

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  6 місяців тому +1

      You may want to check with ezcom.. play might have a 12 volt power Supply that can plug into this router worst case scenario, just pick up one of the many power stations that I've done videos on in the past and your 12-volt needs while camping should be answered

  • @williampeacy5217

    Sadly, there are many out there that do like to camp and have an older motorhome or travel trailer that cannot afford the cost of RV internet due to a fixed income. Most of them are retired. They may try to make money while traveling doing social media or UA-cam, but can’t afford the cost of $100+ per month charge on top of what they might already have at home. So, the question is “the best for whom”? These days RVing is getting more expensive as it is. So, what is the best solution for retirees and others on a similar fixed income?

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  3 місяці тому

      @@williampeacy5217 it was the best for use while we were on the road, never had issues always had internet..

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  3 місяці тому +1

      I wanted to add to the previous reply as I did not address fixed incomes you have to live within your means.. Remember the old saying, you can't have your cake and eat it too. On this channel we've also covered $3,000 generator systems for the back of your RV . But if you can't afford that you're going to have to find something else. We also talked about keeping an older RV and an older truck versus having a brand new truck and a brand new RV. Which we started with the prior but ended up with the latter eventually.. We also talked about boondocking versus staying in campgrounds. Of course boondocking could potentially be less money But, you will have less amenities. So I guess the answer would be, if you can't afford it then you not going to be able to do it.. but I also want to bring up one common fact that everybody seems to overlook and that is, 90% of the US is on a fixed income. For example Heidi currently works 60 hours a week. She gets paid a salary. There's been times that she has worked 80 hours a week. However, her weekly take-home is exactly the same as it was Prior.. That is a fixed income... when I was in the army, it didn't make a difference how many hours I worked during the week I still got paid the same for the month. That's a fixed income. How about hourly employees there are only guaranteed 27 hours max a week? Wouldn't that too be considered fixed income? If you want cheap internet while traveling, McDonald's, Panera and Starbucks all have free WIFI..

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  15 днів тому

      It's not that simple. T-Mobile has never advertised their units as being mobile. They require a home address where the unit will be based at. Although people have had limited success with moving it around.. and although T-Mobile coverage is pretty good after being on the road for 3 years I'll tell you that they like all the carriers are limited. This unit gives you three other carriers for the ultimate coverage..

    139 per month is too high. Travelfi is the same router but that have a range of monthly plans as low as 19 per month

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  7 місяців тому +1

      Lol... That $19 a month gets you 2 GB for the entire month. The only plan that even comes close is their Unlimited that cost $129 per month. I guarantee they don't give you personalized service that EZCOM does.. the other thing that EZCOM provides is the ability to call in when you are having a problem with the router bouncing back and forth between carriers. They can manually lock you to the best carrier for the area that you are in. In addition, EZCOM is beta testing an app that will allow you to manually control all functions and settings within your router including choosing and locking on specific carriers.

      Travlfi no longer uses Verizon. I confirmed this in a phone call to customer support last week. That’s a shame because their data plans were very flexible in that you basically pay for what you need when you need it - anything from no data when you’re not using all the way up to unlimited.
