Brett at Amain just reviewed it and the bumper upper mount was missing screws. The rear of the body was rubbing and tucking into the tires. He also broke a rear A-arm but it was a nasty crash into a solid object. Also, the motor mount screws came loose. Be sure to check those. It's common on most new releases. Not a big deal it's always good to get into a habit of checking for loctite on screws going into metal parts. With that said, it's a sick rally car! I love the chassis layout.
Amain Hobbies & Tomley Rc both had the same problem with the body hooking up on the rear wheel, the body can also catch on the rear of the front wheel when turning.
Always love ur detailed brake down of the cars would like to see u check temps of the system to see how well they did with the package for said vehicle it help people that are not aware how critical temps can be to the electronics and think it just add to your content that is already great just step above others its just suggestion hope it be helpful keep up great work and have a wonderful day.
I love the shade you threw at the carisma rally at the start: "this is a rally car done right" : ) The design looks awesome and glad they managed to fit in an aluminum chassis and the stock electronics seem good (except the radio)! The lack of a center diff from the factory may be a disadvantage compared to the wr8 and seems to have less suspension travel. I see the little nubs on the chassis - they really should offer a chassis cover for this. Pity the body doesn't have clear windows - would have been awesome to put a scale interior/chassis cover on there. Interestingly - it seems like you can put dual shocks.
The second shock mounting points are likely a quick way to reduce down travel (i.e., droop) and therefore chassis roll. Likely on asphalt you use the upper shock mounting points, and then drop down for dirt. You would have to readjust the shock preload with the change.
The chassis looks really well made with tons of adjustment options, it runs really well on just 2s and really planted on dirt as shown in this video, I can imagine people racing these things and havin a blast. It would be really great if they put more body shells options and even unpainted ones for club racing..why not😅? That rear body post problem might be solved with a 3D printed brace to give some extra rigidity.
I'm currently building a open to public rallycross track out in Huntington Oregon. We will be running the MJX hyper go 14302 for beginners and the LC Racing ptg2r for middle class and I'm thinking this would be ideal for the pro class. This is gonna be a quick buy for me to get this all up and going.
Looks such a good replica, I would have like to have seen CV joints at the front. This being a brand new platform from CEN and seeing all the extra holes everywhere it looks like they will have future releases on this chassis
I hope that even more 1/8th rally stuff is coming! I just ordered a Carisma M48 Subaru. I like this CEN chassis more, but not a big Ford fan. Hopefully some other bodies become available. Still considering a WR8 too.
Question, love this...years and years ago wanted to get HPI's rally car but never did and spend money elsewhere. Now this stimulates my senses once again. This appears to be pre-production unit. The question is when is Cen going to show off the finished version? Its a must for $450 that it come with a electronics tray cover plus the rear body rub/tires fix. And add some additional ride height. Your thoughts?
As always a great review of a great car. I immediately pre ordered one at my LHS😂 I wondered Greg how did you solve the problem of the body at the back? Did you trim the body?
I have some extra foam bumpers from other cars in storage. My thought was to try and attach one to the rear diffuser in some fashion to support the back of the body. I haven’t done it yet. But that was my thought.
Usually when someone makes a rally car they just put a rally body on a touring car and give themself a pat on the back. Well Tamiya “tried” to make a rally car but Tamiya only know how to make body shells and not much you can drive hard two days in a row. Steering rack doesn’t look the best and no servo saver for a rally car is just asking for trouble, like a damaged servo or possibly worse, a damaged servo can kill your esc once it draws enough amps. Goodluck CEN, making lots of interesting cars just as scale as Tamiya but more usable!
Being an RC rally car fan I will have to get this for sure. Love my Tamiya XV01. I had they WR8 nitro but the motor was kind of a pain to deal with. Can’t wait to get my hand on this. MUCH better value than a Tamiya XV02 imo.
Great to see CEN taking this on. The chassis looks great to be honest. Plenty of upgrade options for future hop-ups and aftermarket. How does the wheel size compare with the HPI wr8? Savox servo with a Hobbywing Max10 ESC is very nice electronics, combined with a rear spoiler and threaded shocks!! Well played CEN
Nice video! I have a wr8 where i must screw fast front c hub. But i dont find the orginal srcew, So can i use a simililar as the thiknes and the lenght is the same but different screw head? Sry my english
Love that there seems to be more releases of rally cars. This seems to be be a great rally car. Unfortunately I don't think it will be released in Sweden 😢
Hey... where are you located? (what state?) I just moved to NC and I was wondering where you were... looking for like-minded individuals to hang with... (I used to write for RC Car Action)
Awesome. I Wonder if it would do a bit better with rally block tyres ? Although it seems to definitely be holding its own . Interesting they went for top speed with a rally car as usually it’s acceleration . But that is a top speed and a half 🤜👍 Great review as usual Greg 😊👍
This is quite interesting. I’ve always been a fan of rally. But I prefer the old school point to point rally. Not this modern circuit racing rally style.
I'm just happy to see a genuinely interesting looking and performing design from someone other than losi/arrma and Traxxas. Savox servo, HW motor/esc system, durable looking and unique platform. I honestly may have to pick one up. Wish Associated did this 1/8 size with the Ken Block vehicles. Only reason I have got the hoonitruck yet
RALLY IS BACK!!!
That spot where I ran it at Madness would be a great rally track spot. 🤔😁
@@rcdriver those damn dirt bikes put a wrench in my plan! Lol
100 percent... 😊
What’s better this or the WRX reviewed on the channel recently? Would like to see a head to head!👍🏽
This is one of the finest RC car I've ever seen.
Glad to see all the Rally cars coming to market

I'm so grateful that someone decided to make an rc Ford puma. The first rc I feel like I NEED in a very long time. Pricing is more than fair as well!
Quite literally the best WRC scale rc model out there !!!!
Amain Hobbies & Tomley Rc both had the same problem with the body hooking up on the rear wheel, the body can also catch on the rear of the front wheel when turning.

One of the best Rally RTR's I've seen so far! Thank you Greg for reviewing such a gorgeous machine.
Great review Greg! Whole time could not stop staring at the orange f250..😮
Excellent review Greg you rock all I do is build and collect RC rally cars this is A must have in my collection

A side x side comparison with the wr8 will be a killer video!
This chassis looks really pro!
Perfect engineering 👌
Awesome! Very nice setup and the body 🤯 that would be my 1st Cen ever!
✌🏼😎👍🏼

This chassis is gonna keep the car glued to the ground very cool car

Sick looking car. This thing is gonna be fun!

What if you stiffen the body? Would spraying flex seal in the body keep it from getting csught in the wheel?
Funny to me that cars like this are around. Built great. Great electronics. Licensed and it’s only 460. Vs a extended wheelbase HCG slash for 530…..
Impressive. It's about time the HPI WR8 had some legitimate competition. 👍🏻👍🏻
That thing is awesome Greg looks and drives like a real rally car! Great review as always bro😊
Very impressive on 2s for the size of it super cool 😁
Superb review as always. Great point on locations to run, I too run my rally cars in the same types of spots. You got me to preorder👍
Nice to see an all new car from CEN! A few minor tweaks here and there and it should be great.
Yes sir! I agree. A few tweaks and it should be good to go!

Awsome Rally car 👍
Getting one for sure
Now that's what I'm talking about!
Greets from Germany! I ordered this Modell today and I will make a Craig Breen remeber Puma... Not to drive, just to have...

Great Video! Is the Cen Puma better than Carisma Audi 1/8? (Considering price, performance, durability etc..)
Now the famous WR8 got big challenge....nice car FOR REAL!!!!
Remember back in early 2000s got my CEN rc car, on that time cen already got licensing for many touring cars.
Really liking this, shame about the body issue in the rear this is on my short list for my new rally car
I wonder which other manufacturer is gonna jump on the rally road this month? Very nice run!!🏎️💨🏁👍
Looks pretty sweet! Like new and old 1/8 rally releases recently. BMX track? 👍🏻👍🏻
Flipping gorgeous 😍 👍👍😃

Very nice video! What wheels should i use on asphalt with wr8 3 s
This might have me sold on getting my first RC rally car
Seen quite a few people say that. Its a good looking RC
Would you get this or the Traxxas VXL Fiesta?
What battery and charger do I buy for it
Please do a short where you show it next to a Traxxas Rally. It looks smaller than the Rally but I can't tell. thanks
Every review I have seen has the body make contact with the wheel,
Yeah, I almost think they need a foam rear inner bumper just to hold the body in place.
What a great thumbnail brother
Those tires would be awesome on a clay track. Couldn't imagine it with some good dirt tires
Good review , nice car ,
I like this! Awesome video
Donde lo compro?
That looks great 👍
Looks pretty cool.....😎👍
Anyone know where I can get some off-road rally tires for this thing???
Definitely going to add this to the stable. Did you notice if it was provisioned for sway bars?
It is yes
I was hoping you where going to run it on the race track beside the field you where at.
Nice video! I have a wr8 where i must screw fast front c hub. But i dont find the orginal srcew, So can i use a simililar as the thiknes and the lenght is the same but different screw head? Sry my english
Yea u can. But if the hole is taped should use correct bolt
@@ll.7927 Thanks. It is not taped.

You can order one from Germany
@@matusknives thank you, will check 👍
How is it compare to HPI WR8 flux?
Curious too.. Sure lookes nice but honestly doubt it will beat a wr8....
I wish the hubs wheel hex knuckles and other parts were alloy out the box
Car is great... I just hope they will resolve rear end of the body before they start to sell it..
Reminds me of the tamiya xv02 chassis
Hey... where are you located? (what state?) I just moved to NC and I was wondering where you were... looking for like-minded individuals to hang with... (I used to write for RC Car Action)
It's a good looking rc, should be durable with the mod1 gearing, also probably room to change gearing, fast already though
Reminds me to the epic HPI WR8 Flux Rally Car..
#RIPKenBlock
Would love it more in 1/5 scale
For a smile factor does the cen puma or hpi nitro wr8 do it for you
You never showed how much dirt inside after driving around in dirt. And how to clean?
Just a light dusting. Nothing crazy. Just used an air compressor to blow it off.
I think the car would look even better with the Fifteen52 Turbomac wheels
Awesome. I Wonder if it would do a bit better with rally block tyres ? Although it seems to definitely be holding its own .
Interesting they went for top speed with a rally car as usually it’s acceleration . But that is a top speed and a half 🤜👍
Great review as usual Greg 😊👍
I want this
It’s very 👍 nice 👍 how much?
thats a really nice car just cant find it anywhere
Should be listed on websites soon.
@@rcdriver ok thnx
They look more like rally cross tires an actual rally tires, which are totally different tread
This is quite interesting. I’ve always been a fan of rally. But I prefer the old school point to point rally. Not this modern circuit racing rally style.
💪🏾💯
评测很专业
That's how I drive
I'm just happy to see a genuinely interesting looking and performing design from someone other than losi/arrma and Traxxas.

👍👍😎😎
That's easily a 65 mph rally with re gearing I am hitting 70 mph with traxxas Ford fiesta rallies finally a brand with a true rally like hpI wr8
Waiting for 1/10 some successor to Tamiya XV-01...
No servo saver s red flag.
Wish it was nitro.
Looks good but i always say take all those stickers off nd sell the car cheaper
Only thing I don't like about rally cars is that it spits dirt all over the electronics.
Can you give this car to me
Kind of sluggish
