- Carisma has released another Rally RTR with their M48S Platform and this time it wears the iconic 1985 Audi Quattro S1 Group B body. This car represents a height of rally performance and the question is, did Carisma step up their rally platform to represent that. In this video Greg goes over the latest release and hits the dirt for some wild dust flying action.

I think Michèle Mouton who drove for Audi and won races for them would argue with the "Group B was for Men" tagline on the box
That "Group B was for men" line is a bit rich considering Michele Mouton not only famously drove this exact Audi, but was an incredible driver. Perhaps even the best female driver of all time.

i had a real 85 quattro! i never got a chance to fully restore it before i sold it. great car
We definitely need more Rally events here in New England! I'd love to see a course with mixed surfaces, some tarmac, some loose dirt/sand and some running through the woods.
I love these rally cars that they do. I happen to have the 959 Porsche Dakar from many years ago.

The rear wing provides actual downforce. When he was making fast jumps the back end of the car was pushed down by the wing.

The motor is 3800kv, I contacted Carisma as I won the Tomley rc car. The diffs do need filling with diff oil as they only have grease in, with a few little tweaks (including swapping out transmitter and receiver) it’s a cool car. I do hope Carisma bring out the correct wheels though.👍
Awesome kit, shame about the lack of adjustability and the wrong wheels. I really would cry smashing that body shell up, it looks so good

Think one off the first reviews i've seen. Keeping my eye on it for a while already, i like it..! Only small concern i have about the body is the long front spoiler. And i think they should have made an inner body or at least the option to buy one. Haven't seen any for 1/8 which is kind off stupid if you ask me...
But it looks great and the power upgrade was so necessary, its way better this way (would replace it regardless if i'll buy one, but that's something else)...

There are various reasons to not include "group B is for men" in the box art, some more obvious than others... wish they'd kept it out... 😏 Other than that, on point Carisma!

Period correct wheels are white five spoke , like are going to be on the new upcoming RC MANUFAKTUR 10th scale AUDI QUATTRO SPORT S1 PRO RTR , utilising the PTG-2R LC RACING rally chassis , using the hobbywing 3665SD brushless motor and EZRUN MAX 10 G2 ESC , with a a P32 radio / receiver package . Shipping starts at the end of June .

It is a great body choice but I feel that a rally style car really needs something to protect the chassis from dust and debris.

The body seam like u could put it on a bit longer chassis if they just sold it uncut possibly move wheel wells and it still look ok love good rally sadly had similar car back in 90s and got it cheap but didn't no its value till years later after sold it the amout of cool cars ive own and wish still had today just back then they weren't big bucks and as rare i mean they were then just now never see them keep up hard work and have wonderful day.
The Sama thing happened with the range issue on Tomleys revue🤔
At least you didn't have trouble with the rear sway bars detaching themselves from the chassis like Tomley RC had happening on his review of the car . He also had the range issue on the speed run test . We all know CARISMA RC'S have a poorer range issue with their RC'S , which is not so bad with their 24th scale rally cars because they are so small , but on a faster 8th scale they should have done better without you having to spend more extra money on a different radio / receiver package on the car to be able to get good radio range .
Can you reach out to Charisma and get them to do an option for the correct Speedline 5 spoke wheels with a deeper offset? Also needs spot light pods on the front. Mine is on order but we're way behind in the UK. I'm going to try and fit some kyosho turbo scorpion wheels to mine when it arrives 👌🏼
Had mine for a week now. Love it, however the body posts are fragile. Snapped two with one roll over. In addition, the grub screws backed out in both front & rear diffs. Ensure to put blue loctite on them.

Awesome car and review. However, I’m still holding out for 1/5 scale or larger in these cars and trucks. Bigger is better baby💪🏾

I would remove the front sway bar to help with the under steering.
Distance that’s an odd one have not had that happen with any newer cars.
If you keep it on those scale jumps it handles them nicely bro… and appears to have the slide game down to a science 🧪
I love rally cars but I just don’t have anywhere to run them. I have to have 4x4 truck style RC’s like Tmaxx and Kraton 6s type rigs.
I wish they would also scale weight right

Why would you put the steering servo UNDER the front center drive shaft? There is plenty of room to put that servi to the right of its location, mounted vertically instead. They should revise that before release.

The box says "group b was for men" which means they don't know Michele Mouton won races in the Audi, and won the Pikes Peak Hilclimb in 1985 *with that car*. Lame.
Rc cars are yst like real cars but cheaper and smaller unfortunately so why do low minded people think they toys
