7:08 when running a rally car on the pavement you should stiffen up the shocks as you don't need the large suspension travel. When you go into rally, dirt, sand, gravel and pavement you'd need softer spring rates. I bet this would be a blast on a true rally course.....now if you only knew someone with some property!!!
Hey Tomley, this video was actually enough to get me into the hobby. Since then, I now own: Tamiya Frog Tamiya Lunchbox Mini Tamiya TT-02 GR Yaris Rally1 Hpi Subaru WR8 FLUX Traxxas TRX4M Defender Traxxas XRT And, of course, this beauty! I just wanted to say thanks. Your video just really won me over at a time which I was at my lowest. I love the WRC and have cheered for M-Sport Ford for many years given their underdog status in the sport, and this RC came at the perfect time for me to truly celebrate them as a team. You really helped get me into this hobby, and for that I thank you :) I come back to this video often, oddly enough.
Yes! Always more Rally!!!! Now if only I had room in my yard for an 1/8 scale dirt track. Lol. Looks like this one will be added to my wish list, right next to the WR8.
The shape and design of the chassis looks great for keeping the rocks and sand out. Looks like a bag would finish it off nicely. Great video thank you for sharing.

CEN were very well known back on 2000's . I still have my 1:10 CEN monster truck alive and bashing. They were stuck in time for a while, but this one is a good shot from them. You shold try their new F-450 one day mate ;-)
The "tub" construction reminds me of the old Saab Sonnet construction. Maybe meant to stiffen up the chassis? 1:1 rally cars were always trying things to stiffen the chassis for better controllable performance.
Just watched RCDriver video of CEN Racing rally car. And after the test run, he pointed out that body post flexing is causing the rear body tucking problem.
Seems to be some quality control issues. Amain did a review and they also were missing screws. Their bumper wasn't attached to the shock tower so they had to find a couple of screws. Still seems awesome, so I guess it depends on price.
thanks for the video. i'm new to RC, anyone can suggest what size (i mean how many mAh) of 3S battery should be used to get some driving time without having to change battery every 5 mins? thank you
@@TomleyRC I know I‘m (as always) late to the party but first I do have to explain something: I‘m 45 years old (or young 🥴) and I do want to get „back on the RC train“ again. I had, back in the days, two TAMIYA RC cars, one of them was a black kind of „Big Foot“, if I remember correctly it was all black with a few decals on it and the rims were red I believe. But don’t quote me on that, cause it was a long time ago… And then I had a TAMIYA buggy, but again, we are talking here 30 years plus! Now, after watching a lot of videos, I do want to buy exactly THIS RC car for me. I know it‘s a bit on the pricier side but I think it‘s worth it. 👏 BUT can you explain to me what the difference is between the batteries? 2S or 3S? Obviously one difference is the power, but what 3S battery should I buy, are there any differences in the 3S batteries itself? Where can I ideally buy them online? (Btw: I do live in Germany!). Do I need special chargers for those 3S batteries? Do they come with different connectors? 🤷🏻♂️ Any help would be highly appreciated! 🙏 So, thank you @TomleyRC for this and the other videos, I really appreciate it and had a lot of fun watching quite a few videos of yours during the day. 👍 All the best from Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp 👋
Back in the 90's and early 2000's the american tracks had 1/10th rally cars run on them, the rally weapon and HPI RS4 rally. The racers would basically cut off the front bumper to let them land jumps better. This looks super cool!
Wishing Ford had a Global nameplate they could use for rally - 'Puma' here is just a defunct shoe brand, and large cat nobody can recognize. Except here in Florida, somehow. This little car looks _the business,_ I hope it comes with different shells, maybe a recognizable one for us Colonials? Some sorta bro-dozer or jellybean SUV, I guess lol

I love cenracing products. I have the hl mt and the 2wd mt wheelie machine. And they have not broke in anyway at 1 yr of bashing. One diwnside is the 2wd mt needs some kind of plating on its screws bc they rusted rite away. But thats minor. Plus their double pinion gear is great innovation.
So as you have all 3 1/8 rally cars so what one is the best the hpi wr8 the cen or the carisma I only have the wr8 and I'm thinking it's still the best 1/8 rally car 🤔
I do like the fact that this is an RTR (no time or patience to build) and I am a Red Bull fan would prefer 1/10 scale like my other cars...deciding factors would be replacement parts availability/price and if available in Canada
Older post you made but I just compared the specs of this to the Traxxas Fiesta Rally VXL, which is 1/0th and this is smaller, wheelbase is a full inch shorter and overall it’s almost 3” shorter so this CEN sounds more like a 1/10th if not a slightly smaller?
Needs slightly longer a-arms and better shocks, ones with progressive stiffness/dampening as they compress. Only then could it be setup as a proper rally car.
