Great format for addressing questions. Short and to the point. Thank you!
Love your content!
Love your information great work 👍✌️
Insulin resistance is one place where exercise is very important. Got to get those insulin receptors going.
exercise will speed up reversing IR, but NOT needed, in other words exercise will speed up the recovery of IR .
You can, I did!
I didn't know today was going to be a 2FER, what a pleasant surprise!!!
The answer is YES !!!
I did it as 1000s of other people did it also
The answer is No. you can avoid sugar spikes by cutting out carbohydrates. That isn’t the same thing. You don’t grow a replacement leg by simply choosing not to walk.
It can be reduced in three ways.
Losing weight,
Taking more exercise,
By cutting out all dairy and meat fat for a period of time, then adding in plant based whole foods that contain a healthy balance of fats. (Healthy means, including omega 3 rich legumes, walnuts, green veg and not just eating omega 6 rich sources such as refined oils and pecan nuts)
There is no benefit from carnivore other than short term weight loss and learning diet discipline that can then be modified to a more healthy diet.
@@jgreen9361 all lies !
Absolutely does!!! Plus the good Fats, Butter, eggs, bacon, fatty means & no sugars, fast foods snacks blah blah... You are the Snartest & Easiest to listen too for the truth & help!!!!❤
Can you discuss hyper absorbers of saturated fat my ldl goes to 10.00 mmol on carnivore but zetia fixes it.
Would be interested on your take
Thank you doctor.
Hi Professor
Would you have Information you Could GIVE on the Different Types of MTHFR methylation issues, Including Folate. And Nitrous .Oxide. And
Nutritional DEFICIENCIES due to these Genes!
And linking This to Full Carnivore Please!
Specifically HOW the GIT, Liver, Pancreas and Kidneys would cope with lowered Enzymes and Methylation, on Full Carnivore/ Keto diet !
Thank you.
I did it
Can you explain how does iodine influence fat, protein and glucose metabolism?
Dr Bikman, what is a "normal" A1C? I'm told ADA guidelines are high. I've also heard normal is a A1C in the mid fours with blood sugar at 83.
With Ozempic and diet and weight lifting I have turned the tide against insulin resistance. For the first time in 16 years my HDL is high, my triglycerides are dead in the middle of Normal, and my visceral fat is gone. I still have the abdominals muscles to build back, at 74 that will be difficult. My Dr. never believed that there is such a condition as insulin resistance. Thank you Dr. Bickman, it was your videos and advice that propelled my journey.
I have a question, when can I determine when to end the Ozempic, I have already ended the Jardience. My guts can't handle much more of the Ozempic gut and diarrhea, and the price is way too high.
Try carnivore. For me it has the same effect as ozempic on appetite but without all the dreadful side effects. I did ozempic for 6 months and it nearly did me in.
Yes ❤
Doc, when you say ketogenic diet, how do you define it? There are many different definitions on the internet. In my opinion it has to do with ketones - if you produce .5mmol/L or greater ketones you are in ketosis and therefore on a ketogenic diet. However, some people on the internet label a particular diet ketogenic without caring about ketones. People like Dr. Westman call a diet ketogenic even if the person following their "keto" diet is not in ketosis. I'm hoping you prefer the scientific definition that relates to ketones, but I would like to know your definition of a ketogenic diet.
Should have been a "Hell Yes!" 😄
90 day progran, please give links.
Been carnivore for a while and fasting glucose keeps rising and I can’t get my daytime numbers out of the 200’s. Soooo frustrating! I wish I could figure out why!
But how about gluconeogenesis?
I manage to reverse 8 years of diabetes type 2 within 3 months on a purist carnivore diet, unfortunately I wasn’t able to reverse my neuropathy or slight blurred vision 😔 nevertheless I feel a lot better!
Nerves take much much more time to heal. You might still get some healing if you continue this WOE.

Started A1C at 9.6...end of 90 day cycle of carnivore A1C 6.9. Total cholesterol down from 146 to 101. Triglycerides down from 588 to 247. Carnivore works.
Are you male? Seems like many of us females are screwed, nothing works….so frustrating
How bad is milk, the lactose, for a diabetic or any one with insulin resistans?
Dairy promotes growth - it's designed for babies to grow. It will stall your progress or make you gain weight. The perfect mix of carbs, protein and fat might not be helpful for insulin resistance. It's also potentially addictive and may lead to overeating.
@@carnigoth Nonsense!
❤❤❤
I',m really upset. I've been carnivore 13 months. I continue to have elevated glucose levels and incredibly high insulin levels. can't lose a bit of weight! I consume NO dairy.
It might be because of nutritional defiencency. Particularly not enough vitamin D3, chromium, magnesium or vitamin B1. Meaning way before you started carnivore you might have been and still be defiencent. Look into Benfotiamine.
What do you eat, specifically ?
@@antonbelsky Beef, just beef, twice a day. My endocrinologist is mystified. She actually said she was going to see if Yale had a study on people like me. I've recently been put on ozempic to help the insulin resistance.
High glucose is one issue. High insulin is another. First of all, what do you call high? Having high blood glucose can by itself raise your fasting insulin. Obviously, you have other issues that need to be uncovered.
Hm, very interesting! Something like abnormal hyper-gluconeogenesis ?
Overly high protein intake without necessary fats can cause high insulin I have heard.
No, it's only a small bump in insulin. And plus it's really hard to overeat on protein.
@@DynoDeso thanks for the info
How long does it take for insulin resistance to go away if someone like me was eating a SAD diet their entire life? 1 month? 6 months? Longer?
On a SAD diet insuline resistance only gets worse. You have to reduce your carbohydrate intake in order to reduce your insuline resistance.
If you go low-carb, by 3 months, you should have results. It can even happen little by little each month. You have to be consistent. Good luck
Keto / Carnivore will give you outstanding results compared to SAD, in many respects.
However, it won't necessarily remove just fix it on it's own and it could take longer than a few months. For some, they see immediate results, others, to fully heal it could take years.
Also, be sure to track your macros, get a glucometer or some way to measure your BG. Don't be afraid to add animal fat and play around with protein ratios to see if you get different results.
There are some really loud voices all over UA-cam that will be very vocal about protein not increasing your glucose, that is just not true for a lot of people. Read through the comments, and you will see what I am talking about.
When ? Yesterday wouldn’t be soon enough . That stuff has too many side effects
Insulin resistance can absolutely be reversed on carnivore. Funny that because in my case it's getting worse. Six months of zero carbs and my symptoms are worse than when I was eating sugar.
That spot on the wall. I heard nothing. All I see is that spot on the wall.
I didn't know it was april fools day.
I would put a very cautious yes on that. Insulin resistance, possible, diabetes, not so much, at least not without controlling the amount of macros. I am an example. While I can't answer the question of how exactly my insulin is triggered, since you can't test in the moment, I can say, 100%, that if I eat over 120g of protein a day for several days, my BG sugars will rise to pre-diabetic and type 2 diabetic levels and stay there. When I lower them to under 100g of protein per day after about a week they go to optimal levels (75 - 85). I know others that experience the same thing.
so, YOU DONT KNOW! dont comment on what YOU DONT KNOW! ill trust the DR.'s answer , thanks!
@@KarmenD-ce5re What I know is that if I eat over a certain amount of protein per day I will get Type 2 diabetic levels chronically even in the absence of exogenous glucose. I am also aware many others experience this, so in that regard, I do know. What I don't, know, an either does any doctor regardless of credentials knows, is how each individual is affected by insulin in that moment because it can't be tested in the moment with any significant measurement.
Even if you don't personally experience this, assuming you actually religiously test for yourself, it doesn't mean damage is not happening. Much like it takes decades to discover the damage high glucose does to an individual. Excessive amts of protein or energy intake make be doing the same.
Mos of these doctors are working off theories, you shouldn't trust anyone 100%. You should test for yourself and be very intentional about it, or don't, and just blindly trust them, until you find out the hard way.
Eat your meat 💪
The study diet was low card keto NOT carnivore
Stop lying
Your evidence is “But Gary feels good eating bacon 🥓 so it must be good”
Answer is nope 👎
That Dr looks terrible and is not a good example of the carnivore diet
