Fantastic! Thank you so much, Steve, I'd picked up hints around this, little glimpses, but here you've shown it so clearly in just a few minutes. It's like you opened a huge heavy door, cue dazzling lights, choirs, deep organ and trumpet fanfare. BRILLIANT!!!! I can see building so much on this.

Mr Steve Stine I believe is one of the best instructors out there. He leads one to perceive a practical path that makes sense to anyone, and you can bet he will make each lesson ever worthwile. Other instructors can be boring, hard to comprehend, or lacking in content. I only hope these video lessons continue for as long as they possibly can. I enjoy learning every bit of new things that I could pull off with my axe. It gets me one step closer to expressing myself comfortably on the neck like I've always wanted to. Just to feel what it's like to find the harmony in every note that flies by and to strum along. Thanks Mr Stine.

Steve is a great teacher not because he drops all this knowledge on you, but it's because he shows the fun in learning this instrument. He also encourages you to explore more about yourself and what you've learned than just "do this and this and you get this."

Your teaching style is excellent. That makes so much sense. I can hear the difference between major and minor (which surprises me coz I can't even tune up without a gadget). I can, with effort, visualise the overlapping positions too. At the moment I noodle along to 12 bar backing tracks in 3 positions of minor pentatonic, and that's good coz I don't have any great dexterity or speed yet so I need the practice and at the same time I can be a rock god in my own shed! But adding in the major pentatonic will be a challenge that doesn't require better fingering so it gives more to work with when improvising over the 12 bar and developing my dexterity.
Thank you so much. If you were English I'd recommend you for a knighthood!!

I agree w/ Yarib. You are w/o a doubt one of the best instructors online. You give such great information that is easy to understand and you are very inspirational to watch and learn from. You dont just regurgitate the same stuff that others do, you actually break it down and show how to visualize it, think about it, and apply it. I cant say thank you enough for your willingness to help others. You are a good man sir!

Steve, I began watching your Surfer Girl lesson (buddy and me learning some beach boys) and you were so easy to teach i clicked your link. I listen to your major/minor blues soloing (P'tonic scales) and sat here in one lesson and my understanding (real understanding) of scales washed over me like "that's it - that simple"???? I'm 56 years old and have been meandering and free-styling around over the frets by ear for years. I never really knew why it worked. I wanted to learn and I tried hearing a few lessons but always got over-whelmed by the teacher going off subject and a "oh yeahing" a host of other things that just didn't sink in and would take me way off track. You made it completely understandable and didn't get bogged down in things I'll either pick up on my own or learn later in a lesson made for that "oh yeah" thing. You stay on subject very well. Excellent teacher. Thank you sir.

Just wanted to let you know, there’s a special sale that ends tonight (Monday August 30)...
Steve Stine’s Greatest Licks Bundle is now on sale. You get 10 of Steve’s best licks courses for a super-low price.
That’s hundreds of guitar licks in a wide variety of styles, and these 10 courses sold separately would cost hundreds of dollars.
Right now, the price is $35.50. And that’s an AMAZING deal for all 10 of these licks courses.
But here’s the catch… the price goes up a little every time somebody buys the bundle.
So if you want to take your lead guitar playing to the next level, or just have a blast playing some killer guitar licks, you should check it out ASAP. :-)
Go here for all the details → www.guitarzoom.com/greatestlicksbundle/promo/
Make sure you check it out ASAP, and no matter what, keep playing!

Hi Steve. Man! I gotta tell you your teaching is awesome! After a long absence from playing (years) i've been at it for hours everyday for 7mths now and you really help a lot! My question is,when playing the A minor penatonic as in this video, with the 6th fret note on the G string can i also add the "blue" note on the G string at the 8th fret? thanks dude! :)

The pentatonic scale is the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th note of the major (Ionian) or minor (Aeolian) scale. All of these inversions exist within the modes. The first position he mentions is within the Aeolian (natural minor) mode. Though they're still the same notes/scale degrees, the positioning of the root note changes with each relative mode pattern; as shown here If you learn the patterns of the modes, you can figure pentatonics out for yourself if you get lost. Linking them together as he is here allows you to play within a certain key. It just depends on the sequencing of these patterns. That's another way to look at it. I hope that helps. (MUCH easier said than done. My knowledge of theory far exceeds my abilities on guitar.)

Learning the scale degrees helps you determine the position of your root note (as he demonstrates in this video) I'm doing my damnedest to learn that myself. Steve knows his sh*t. so well that he breezes through it much more quickly than I can effective comprehend/integrate the material. (In other words, you're too talented for your own good, Steve. :p)
