    📺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
In this guitar lesson, Steve Stine teaches you the #1 tip to play emotional, melodic guitar solos starts with making connections between the rhythm and chords that are being played, and your scale of choice.
Whether you know your music/guitar theory or not, learning how to "see" the fretboard's chords and scales and how they interact is essential to understand how to create melody in your guitar soloing.
This is the first step, needless to say the learning and education keeps going, but learning how to make that first connection is really important to your guitar playing success.
Learning to visualize your fretboard with guitar chords AND scales will continue to open up opportunites for more creative guitar solos, so stick to it and don't give up!

Your example of a 'bad' solo at the beginning is still better than any solo I've ever improvised.

Thanks Steve, I started playing when I was 13, have never got any better since I was 16, I am now 63. You have opened my eyes to the theory behind music in a personable, easily understood way. I love your laid back presentation. Brilliant.

Steve Stine is a greatest teacher I ever had. He explains a step by step technique very clearly and is very easy for a beginner like me to understand all the chords. Thank you very much Steve. I would give you five star score and will share it to social media so that more people can learn gitar from your channel. God bless you and family.

I've seen plenty of videos stating that I should be connecting the solo to the underlying chords, but having Steve explain it in this way and breaking the thought process down like this is really inspirational. Using this same process it would be great to see a well known solo broken down to see how the target notes are relating to the chords. Great work Steve, Thanks.

This video lesson is one of the best I've seen (even by Steve). It helps de-mystify what the pros are doing when they're moving around the fretboard, makes it understandable, and most importantly teaches why each of these things (scales, alternate chord fingerings, CAGED, etc.) is worth studying. It is the perfect mix of theory with fun needed to inspire beginners. Thanks!
