Yes. Please tell us how to GET OUT of functional freeze.

  • @Sweetieee

Yeah but what do you do about it? Your shorts always point out the problem but never offer solutions so let’s all continue buffering when doing chores 😂

I do exactly this quite often. The aimless pacing is key

I think functional freeze is the same thing as being emotionally overwhelmed or numb. When that happens for me hopefully my inner mentor can say "OK, we get you're scared, angry or hurting. But let's do 1 task, 1 thing to break this cycle of self harm." So, I make my bed, put away my clothes, go groom my horse. Something, anything to bring me back to me and out of the body memory of my childhood.

Been stuck in it for years

Are you spying on me! This is my every waking moment. When I had a little dog who followed me around everywhere he just got used to going back and forth between rooms. He didn’t bark when I left the house because he knew I’d be right back inside to get something three times.

Never diagnosed with ADHD, but, have CPTSD from extreme psychological abuse. I go through this, can last up to 2 weeks, during and after periods of abuse. Mind n body shut down, want to stay in a state of stasis.. peace n healing

I do this at work when I have to vacuum a big long pub. I think it's the thought of actually focusing and doing it. And having the effort to do something that you don't really want to do. Or it could be anxiety if you don't really want to go anywhere or putting off meeting people. You might put things off and prolong things

I am like this every single day of my life and it's getting worse. I would like it to stop.

When I stare inside the refrigerator looking for items that aren't there. No matter how much staring I do what isn't in there won't be in there. Just have to go to the store and buy it. 😊

I have this problem where I have to do what’s in front of me all the time, no matter what.

Your channel has been around for a year and it barely came across my feed. I’m so grateful.

I've been stuck in that state for years, and I'm diagnosed with inability to adapt to the new situations. Not ADHD, but in my country there is no ADHD diagnosing for adults, and lately I cannot afford to go to some more frequent or better therapy, so unfortunately I have to come up with some temporary solutions on my own. What I do lately is write down EVERYTHING that I have to do tomorrow, step by step but not in the details; then, when I wake up I write down the details of the first half of the day; when I write down those details I try to remember the next three to five things that I have to do, but I check the list after each of those things are finished. And when I finnish one third I write down all the details about the rest of the day. Of course, I may add some things, but only when 2/3 of the day is finished and I estimate that I might have the time to do so. I may also not do everything because I get too tired way too early in the day and I get dizzy, but I still try my best to control and do all the things that I can. But all of that is just temporary.

Usually when I do this I tell myself "ok, the ADHD is acting up, I should do something about it"

  • @elisaleach6220

Actual footage of me at times

  • @DoodleWrite

I was just thinking how symptoms of ADHD and CPTSD look similar the other day and am so glad you’re coming out with ‘freeze mode’ content!!! (Hate to say, this is me)

  • @CO2isfake

Wow I thought that was just me being me because deep down inside I was told I’m worthless. 🥺

  • @fatherburning358

  • @cc1k435

Good God, that's me the past umpteen years or so. But now that someone's been removed from my home, things are much clearer than they've been in a very long time. 😢❤
