  • This video walks you through a detailed approach to changing out your bow’s limbs on the new PSE system. This shows the new PSE axle, cam, spacer and pocket system in more detail that you’ve seen before. Changing out your limbs is an intermediate level or higher practice. This is great to know because you can change limbs to lower weights in off season to get in more reps. Also some archers like to use heavier weight limbs during the hunting season.

It'd be great if you could get PSE to put back the limb deflection numbers for their limbs on their online tune charts.

I don’t know if you respond to questions on UA-cam, but I really hope you can answer because I’ve never gotten an answer to this and I’d really like to understand my bow better: why are the stiffest limbs (if higher deflection numbers = stiffer) closest to the cable rod? Don’t the farther limbs get more pressure from the cables? doesn’t having the stiffer limbs closest to the cable guard lead to greater cam lean toward the cable rod? I’m loving the ez220 system, but I’ve got a tear whereby correcting it with the shims = greater cam lean toward the rod. Thanks so much if you take the time to respond - knock-on has been a huge education for me!

Great question. Has anyone helped you with this yet? I'm curious also

The factory answer will be, because rhe control cable hooks on the guard side, it actually wants to pull that inner limb side.
You can (and I have) put the stiff limb on the away side and shimmed appropriately. However, I don't do this anymore which is another story

@@liamboyle9199 Thanks - that makes sense to me. I’m curious - if you’re willing to spend the time to say - what led you to change the limbs around in the past and also why you stopped doing that -thanks

it would be grate if they made a PSE bow that when they made improvements to the bow you could take your old one in and have the new stuff (such as cams and limbs) or they could be made to put on any PSE bow. So if like me I like the feel of my old one I could have better cams and limbs put on it.

In a way you can. The problem is you think that bows talk about poundage the way you and I talk poundage and that’s not correct. What you run into is pockets, pocket angle before you even made it to the limb. The trend over the years has been going to a wider pocket and a pocket design. This is fine but there is still the laws of physics the bow must follow in order for it to be safe. It’s a lot easier to figure out if you know the limbs series. For example, the pse Mach 30 and Nock 30 have a 941 this makes it easier for figuring out what cams will work @ what poundage. Like for example a 70# E2 cam bow if swapping the cams only (you would still need new strings& cables) would make a 75# max SE2 cam bow. PSE use to have their tune charts online where you could see limb series and deflection numbers. That’s how years ago I was able to make a 90# EVL 34 and 90# EVL 32 along with a 90# Xpedite

Any content coming where you show how to correct CAM lean with that new yoke system? What to look for and how to correct?

Why would it be any different, from a technique perspective?
Same idea except instead of the traditional position with maximum leverage, you are now inboard.
Now the word leverage is important... because the PBTS at full draw has minimal leverage I would almost go as far as to say it is useless as a cam lean tool. As far as I'm concerned it's a trick to make a 5 piece set into a 3 piece set.
You can retrofit, based on what ive heard, the EZ220 to the existing ¼ axle bows if you take the correct shims out.

@@liamboyle9199 According to PSE the EZ220 system is made for 2023 bows only and are not to be retrofitted to earlier models. I would certainly like to know if theres a way to put these new shims to my older PSE EVO.

It's like new gen of Cams, I wanted to put M2s on a Citation, PSE said no and then last month what do I find for sale, a Citation with M2 cams 🤣
So I would say the specific thing to the new cam systems is the axle and how it's held.
They are just doing the right thing and covering themselves in case something goes wrong which is fair enough
The info is scarce though, all I remember is you have to take out certain shims to make them fit.
This also assumes they fit nicely, some people have poor technical sympathy and don't think about what they just did😂
