I don’t think ace being “harsh” is a bad thing. It just means they actually give a accurate grade and long term will be more trusted then a lot of other Grading company’s.
I really like the grading reports you can get too. Actually explaining the grade in understandable terms. Some of the PSA grades look like they get picked out of a hat.
I don't think they know how to grade properly tbh, I've submitted cards, submitted one which was damaged, creased, and came back an Ace 9. From that point on I couldn't trust a single grade from them.

No because ace is new the value will be significantly worse since it’s not one of the big three( psa,CGC and BGS) I would never cross grade or grade at ace ever
Ace will be the next cgc. The grading scale will be loose eventually and then all the early 10s value will drop.
Grading seems a lot more accurate than other services I’ve seen - PSA seem to be very inconsistent at the moment. Hopefully, in time, the Ace labels will continue to be consistent which will make Ace 10s extremely valuable.

The only issue I see is that a lot of people grade the cards for value and if PSA is giving them a 9 or 10 and ACE is probably going to give them a lower grade then it makes sense to grade with PSA. Even if the 9 from PSA is not deserved the value is there since it’s a 9 and not the 8 you would get with ACE
I would grade my cards with Ace because I think is better for collectible cards that I don’t care to sell
In the long term, if PSA is still inconsistent it will drop the values of PSA. On the contrary, ACE being more consistent and accurate can drastically increase prices, especially gem mint 10s as they will be hard to come by.
@@pskarzyn89 it takes more from a grading company than it just being hard to get a 10 to hold value. If they don’t hand out 10s then it’s probably an inaccuracy in the grading. 10s exist. AI grading ftw
I think the idea is to point out how unfairly and undeservedly other companies are handing out 9s and 10s. Eventually people will realize that the higher grades from psa don't hold any value because there are so many.
A lot of PSA 9 cards don’t deserve more than a 7 ngl

i think PSA don't put too much emphasis on the back on the card than Ace Grading do, hence the Arcanine at the begining, but they seem pretty on point with the front of card grades though

That's the biggest downgrade you could do to PSA 1st edition cards
love the fact that you're honest with the high value cards PSA graded. also like the idea that what Ace is doing is providing a more transparent buying experience moving forward. it's like getting an accountant, you want everything to be right and not have something that bites you in the but years down the line.
Interesting video, I will be graded with Ace but then gross grading to PSA in a few years when everything calms down
I packed 2 holo charizards in the 25th celebrations set that I'd love to get graded on ACE. You've said that you're not involved in the day to day with ACE now, but I'm in the US, any hint on when ACE will hit the US market?
Love what you do Randy, you're a big reason why I got back into collecting Pokémon and MTG. And that's why I'm happy to leave them in thier rigid sleeves, in the closet, until I can get some color match grades.

I'd love to see the points that grading report shows up close, I've seen some irl and they didn't make any sense. It was not visible to the naked eye and tbh of its that small of a blemish its microscopic I'd love an explanation of why that's counted if it's so small

Recently picked up an ACE 10 Japanese eevee character rare from vmax climax, gotta say the label and slab look and feel much nicer than the PSA. Might have to send the psa 10 shiny scyther in for a reslab!
would like to see you doing this either different grading companies - other companies cross over to ACE from CGC, Becket and some of the UK companies ? just to see how they do cross over, as with this video you can see that ACE grades better (harsher) than PSA but give a more accurate grade would be good to see other companies cross over to ACE too
I bought my daughter her 1st ever packs of pokemon cards the other day. And in fact the 1st pokemon cards I've ever bought as well. 1st pack of evolving skies we pull umbreon alt art. Will be sending it in to Ace for grading soon.

Love the videos, Randy! The Ace Grading slabs are of incredible quality and are certainly my go-to now for my Pokemon cards. If I had one small critique, however, on certain labels the text is a little big and it makes the label look as if it's been miscut (example 14:13, where the text on the label describing what the card is, looks like it's crammed on, making it appear a bit untidy. Perhaps just reducing the text size would solve this). Keep up the great work man, you're making waves in the community.
I do agree with this - this is really one of the main things which bothers me on some labels. Design is great, colors too but the font size or number of lines used can really ruin some of the labels. I know Ace Grading is not willing to change their labels too much overtime for consistency but they should really considering doing something about this.

Unless it's for marketing or you prefer the labels, nobody will cross-grade to ACE. All it would do is decrease the card value.

Does ace have a US location yet? The only drawback for me is the shipping time to the UK. It would probably take weeks for a grade, let alone their internal turnaround.

i feel like the reports that u can purchased from ace for your cards gives it like a cushion of assurance and makes the consumers understand why the cards being given that grade. from the past videos with psa sometimes when u get low grade u cant really tell whats the issue because u cant see it well in the casing and will leave questioning why is it this grade. Ace has a bright future with all the beautiful labels to match the cards and i feel like the reports is the star of the business
Very tempted to use Ace going forward. If a card were to be 10 in terms of centring, surface etc etc but one of the 4 corners has an ever so slight knick which would knock the corner score to a 9, could it still get a 10 overall?

Surely if ace is “harsh” that should make the value on cards higher than psa as it’s harder to get a high grade compared to psa, I think ace will go global

It’s not monopolized. Other grading companies are allowed to exist. It is natural for people to gravitate towards a standard, especially when you’re talking about thousands of dollars being at stake. We don’t need another hand graded company. AI grading is where it’s at. Go ahead and support whoever you want, but there aren’t any monopolies happening other than the collective opinion on what’s the best grading company, and that SHOULD be allowed to exist.
Great video only thing that bugs me is the case. Having that small square with the ace logo. At the front and back bottom. Personally I want the card to be completely clear.

Would be such a waste for anyone to send their PSA cards, even just being an ACE slab devalues it and then the fact most cards will be downgraded just further devalues the card

Is it a different person that cracks the case open so the grader doesn't get biased if he sees the psa grade?
Of course, the graders grade as normal.

@@lupu5675 That wouldn't work as it's not possible to grade properly with the card still in a slab. You can't see the edges and it's hard to tell if marks are on the card or the plastic.

I wish Ace grading all the best but like it's been said it's damn hard to complete with the likes of PSA or Becketts and if you have good grades already from that company there isn't a massive incentive to get them regraded or mix graded sets e.g. fossils cards graded 50% by PSA, 50% by Ace.
I’m not sure if I understand correct but, isn’t it a little weird to judge things you are associated with?.. it’s like if I’m in business with Psa or Pca.. I’m not gonna say bad things about them and I would not be the person to review them. Again i hear positive things about them and psa got overwhelmed the last couple years, you can see that in the questionable ratings.. but it feel like a game developer reviewing his own game.
Well you are completely right on this but the best to do is take his "review" with a pinch of salt and check some customer reviews too. I personally have no problem for him to review his own company's grading quality, especially if he is showcasing grading reports which are meant to back it up.

I think graders need to adapt , especially regarding WOTC cards. It's' 20 year old cardboard and cannot be held to the same standards these cards were in 2005 .
I respect the honesty and transparency here. And I feel like those grades r super fair. I just hope there’s enough demand for this kind of grading. Obviously grade inflation happens because customers tend to want their precious cards to be graded highly, even if it’s inflated and unjustified.

There’s absolutely no reason to regrade but submitting new cards to get grades faster and I hope for cheaper is cool
