Ever since its release, Ace Grading seemed to me to be the future of grading. From the labels, to the mediatisation to the communication with the fanbase with videos like this, it just seems way more in-touch. Then again, I have never graded a card. But I'd probably use them if I did. I am even more confident after this video.
Really interesting watch, thank you! I really like ACE but I find it so tough to get 10’s, and this explains why. It truly has to be perfect. Nice little exclusive there on the grading reveal sticker!
This was a great watch. I didn't expect for them to be so established in such a short time in terms of grading. Randy and the team have done a great job, I'll be sending a batch of cards in soon.
Really interesting video, I'm expecting a return from Ace at the minute and this has given me a bit more confidence in the way they grade, it is gutting when a card doesn't come back a 10 especially when you're expecting one but when you go down into that much detail for a card to reach a 10, it makes it feel even better when you get a 10. My one and only point I'd like to make is that Ace's grading scale says "An Ace Mint 9 is a card that exhibits nearly identical quality to that of a Gem Mint 10 card", this makes me wonder if maybe a 9.5 is needed to bridge the gap between a 9 and 10. Other than that, I can't wait for my latest return for which I used PokiChloe's code as well 😁
If these guys ever got a US based location, these guys would be my go to. I just can't justify spending all that money for shipping. Love everything about their slabs and labels.
Very intricate processes that Ace Grading does to each card. Using technology vs the naked eye only provides an equal grading system for all cards. The overall slab and label appearance are far better than PSA and CGC. I wonder if Ace Grading will have an office in Canada. Thanks Chloe for the video walkthrough of Ace Grading. 👍
Couple months ago I was thinking it would be amazing if someone would do a visit/tour of Ace Grading as it’s the company I use to grade my cards.. Chloe smashed it as always and looking good Rand and the team 😊
Getting ready to send some of my yugioh cards in for grading. Never graded before but it was a no brainer for me to support a UK based company over sending to the US as the more people that support them the more respected they'll be. Great to see how thorough Ace are with their process too and the labelling aesthetics are beautiful
I submitted to ace when they 1st started because i love Randolph. Since then ive never sent anywhere else, love the slabs and the labels. Great service at affordable prices
I have a couple of Lugia cards graded with ACE, and one came back a 10 which really caught me off guard! The only thing is, sadly the inside of the slabs (I think they were using the older slabbing method) have scratches and nicks around the label which makes them not as perfect as they normally are. They're still beautiful slabs and the cards are protected so well though! Also, ACE slabs are quite heavy compared to any other company, and I don't know if it's just me, but I actually really like the little bit of extra weight
Great video, Chloe! I also love that you gave Ace another chance. I remember you making a video about them when they first launched and it's great to see your opinion change.
Really wish they had a USA location too, I LOVE ace grading. The Ace Labels are incredible, and I love sending my cards to them. Just expensive to ship there for me! 😂
Hey PokiChloe. Thanks for doing this video, I've always been so curious to see how the grading works but thanks to autism and anxiety could never go out and see it in person. Amazing video!!! 🙃
Great insight into Ace grading Chloe!!! I personally love Ace grading due to psa being such a long wait. The labes and price from Ace is amazing. Big props to Randolph changing the game.
@@Chris-mj9vmthey are probably the best graders out there. I’ll never understand the hate they get because they grade more harsh. Anyone who cares about grading should only want the best grading
@@Chris-mj9vmNo they're better for grading in the sense because they're more harsh. A beckett 8.5 going to an Ace 6 shows that. They penalize small mistakes more. And this would be good for the value of a high condition card. But because they don't have the name recognition of beckett or PSA that means an Ace 9 wont currently sell the same as a PSA 9. Even though the requirements to get it may be more strict
Thanks Chloe, I've been really unsure where to send some cards as we are very new to collecting my boy and I.. hope to meet you at the London card show.
I've got a ton of ACE slabs, and I enjoy them. The only thing that is annoying is the change in slabs from the old version gave a better slab but took away the clarity of the card. When I view my cards in the new ACE slabs I can see the crinkles in the card sleeve and it just takes away from the finish. The new slabs look better, but I dont like that the cards are sleeved inside the slab. I guarantee they will change again to where they use the same kind of slab without the card in a sleeve, because I know alot of people aren't happy with the sleeves. If this happens and they don't do some seriously heavy discounts to get my cards reslabbed, then Im just going to stick with PSA for consistency.
@charbabyFNF Yes they do, they say it's so the card fits more securely in the slab. I know they are going to change this in the future, because I don't know anyone who has been happy about the change. But if they change this slab again for a 3rd iteration in such a short period, I'll just pay the extra few £ and stick with PSA.
@lazybeatx1843 interesting, thanks for explaining that. I've not known any company do that but equally I know people say about the movement in PSA slabs so it's a balance I guess but looks weird in a sleeve in a slab
Interesting to see a tour of a grading company and I do like the slabs and labels. Also Interesting to hear how people had difficulty cracking the ace slabs, I opened one ( older slab ) with a dart and it took 30 seconds
Waited Ages for a Tour of ACE, love to see how it works. Great Buisness I would love it if we could preview the labels before we purchase though as i thing some of the colour match labels look better than the ACE Art Label. Had a couple back that i wish the labels had been different. ❤❤
That was awesome to see behind the scenes! Really love the labels and the extra bit of effort they put into the process. So keen to send off my first batch of graded cards to them in the upcoming weeks!
i love ace been using them after i had a not good slab and grade from another company will not say ...but keep going ace its nice ace is a english company as well ...
Really interesting video! I'd assume their clean rooms are not ISO accredited clean rooms, given you guys could go in not wearing overalls etc. I do love their art design on the slabs though, just wouldn't grade with them myself.
Hey :) The cleanroom is designed to achieve ISO 14644-1 Class 7 in Production Area through positive pressure, however for a very small video integration, and for something that isn't AS important (cleanliness wise) as say microcontroller integration or biological hazard research, we allow some leeway. I can guarantee it is still a huge difference than not having it :) Thanks
@BaseSetTom this makes me so happy to hear haha. I work in quality and regulatory for a medical device company so I can understand this! That rationale makes complete sense. Thank you 😄

Nah I’ll stick with PSA and Beckett. They are the best for a reason. Randolph waffling was mad. The labels look like but quality I’m not convinced about. To me they’re a better CGC
Interesting video. Good to see they are strict with grades, I thought as much from my submission. A lot of people immediately dismissed Ace because it seemed like everyone was starting a grading company at the time, but I think they're a great option if you're in the UK. Obviously they won't add as much value to your cards as the bigger grading companies at the moment but if/when they expand to the US I don't see why the couldn't eventually become one of the bigger companies. They have strict and consistent grading with nice slabs and the people behind the company collect Pokemon themselves and listen to feedback. GL to them :)

Great video as always very interesting to see how it all works. But, damn all the holos came back lower. 9 to a 7. Not really good advertising for Ace there. No one cares if you have a color matched label if its gonna cut the value of your cards in half. I can see how they would be really cool to use for your commons/uncommons or just cards you like the artworks of to get a custom label, that would be really cool but other than that ehhh idk.

I'm quite new to the Pokemon space and up until now I'd thought that grading scores were quite important but I'm all about learning and educating myself so if you have time I'd appreciate a little more on why you said that the colour scheme was so beautiful and the grade doesn't matter? Also there was no mention of cost involved in this, was a good video to show how it all works but definitely think there could have been a few more questions asked.
Ah i cant agree with what randolf said "on face value, you cant see alot of the issues, especially when its in a slab" but isn't that the point? If it looks good to the naked eye, is that not good enough? Touching cards with gloves is one of the biggest myths in the TCG community. Clean bare hands is the best thing you can use for handling cards.
gloves rub off on the surface of a card so not ideal
Didn't the guy with the hat own ludkins or gradedcem who lost 100's of thousands of cards from psa as a middleman?
None of my American buyers want ACE graded cards. Even if it’s a 10 they want it raw price as they will simply crack it for PSA
Their slabs are great.. for cracking and sending to a more reputable company
