When I became a paraplegic I thought I would never surf again. I was so discouraged and sad. But even though I can’t walk I still surfed long boards laying down. Now I still can surf in my kayak. Pray this man gets the proper prosthetic limb to replace his foot..🙏🏽❤️🩹

The leg was likely damaged a lot too, not just the foot. I wish he would have been able to get to the eyes. Is there any way a surfer could hide a screwdriver along the edge to where the screwdriver would be removed easily and used to jab the eyes of the shark, forcing the shark to release? Future surfboard builders could have a compartment right along the left or right edge with a red sticker on it for a built-in screwdriver that pulls right out, what do you think? In other words, you would push on this little compartment door that is spring-loaded and the screwdriver would be right there to yank out. It would be aerodynamic and not affect the water-foil.

You're at risk every time you get in your car... As for the ocean the risk of drowning is much bigger than the risk of getting attacked by a shark.There are less than 20 attacks per year WORLDWIDE resulting in serious injuries and only 5-10 in death. The risk is tiny.

He will get back surfing. Surfing is very addictive. There is an Iraq veteran surfs in Huntington Beach with both prosthetic legs and he is pretty good.
