Original still holds up well even all these years later
Just replayed them both after nearly a decade this year, I’ll admit the first one is a little bit shaky, especially in comparison to the second but said second holds up perfectly
If I remember correctly. Endlessly ocean is also among the 2 Wii games that allows you to use your own mp3 files

I still can’t process the fact that my most favourite, most obscure franchise is getting a sequel. I always dreamt about it but I figured it’d just be that and nothing more.
I hold this game close to my heart for all the memories I have with it and when I saw it get revealed at the partner direct I was practically in tears.

Too bad this game is clearly not at the same level of the previous opus 😔 My only wish is a remaster of the second version which was the best regarding the mechanics, gameplay and storyline
The graphics for Luminous is pretty much how I interpreted the graphics when I was a kid playing the original game.
I really hope hayley westenra will return to provide her heavenly vocals for the intro song

I love this franchise, i'm so happy right now.
I'm eager to find out what the music will be like. The original got me into Hayley Westenra, and the sequel even convinced me to see Celtic Woman live.
One of the most amazing games ever... The sound track was sweet.

@@leesalee1540 my best answer is so there can be an emphasis on a “diving buddy” system. Due to the Veiled sea being different on each dive, it could be done so as many different areas & creatures are explored before times up on air?

@@OfficialKirby My guess is that it’s absolutely going to be larger. How MUCH larger? Not sure, but I assume it’ll be difficult to travel from one side of the map to another, even on a full tank?

I leave my Wii hooked up after all these years solely for Endless Ocean. It's so relaxing.

I really loved playing Endless Ocean Blue world when I was a kid. I hope we get to see what else this game has to offer before release

Endless Ocean Luminous looks more like a remake of the original Endless Ocean video game rather than a remake.

I actually meant a new Endless Ocean game.
The voiceover in the trailer claims there is over 500 species in this game, which more than doubles the original game, it's safe to say it's not a remake.
I also highly doubt they will skimp on all of the mechanics introduced in 2 for treasure hunting, dolphin shows, aquarium management, etc.

@@Snitsky9 A step back is the last thing the series needs, judging by the positive comments and seeing people clamoring for EO3 over the years, the game has a fanbase but a really, really niche one. This can be their last chance to really make this series into a mainstay. If this falls short in sales or quality, you bet we won't be seeing another EO for 20 years.
The new one looks gorgeous and the original still holds up in some areas. I'm excited for the new endless ocean

I'm going to be honest, the graphics (mostly the environmental details) in Luminous aren't as good as I was hoping. But honestly I don't care because I'm just excited to revisit one of my favorite series from my childhood. The fish and other wildlife models look spectacular though and with over 500 species said to be in the game i can't wait to explore and find them all!
I’m hoping Oceana Louvier makes an appearance
Maybe they can do something similar like they the did in New Pokémon Snap where they brought back Todd Snap, but grown up

I honestly think the first 2 look better since the view distance is shorter, which makes it look a little more realistic. The new one might end up looking slightly better when it’s actually released tho

i want to turn off the Dangerous Creatures mechanic and explore sharks and Dangerous animals like you could in Endless Ocean 1 under the excuse in game lore wise of experimental scuba diving equipment
Same here, I also hope that the "area being different every dive" doesn't mean it is all just randomized procedural environments and there is still actual exploration and discovery to do.
@@bmombaerts this thought terrifies me. I actually freaked out when I saw this was announced, but there’s still no telling how good the game will be.
@@bmombaerts Seeing how there was a quick snippet of ruins, I'm thinking it'd make sense to have some fixed locations, but maybe shuffled around the map with varying environments, under the guise of "never diving in the same place twice"
@@bmombaerts I think everyone may be reading into it a bit much, the first games had a day and night cycle and sometimes storms in the middle of the map, they were likely referring to this alongside potentially swapping where fish will be found, so there aren't fixed spots to go find the fish you need for your codex.
I also think treasure hunting will be back and they will move around and repopulate the treasures you can find. This is a good thing, because in the second game after having found all the treasures and fish in an area there is little to no reason to explore that same spot again.
I imagine the actual map(s) will stay the same.
Both look amazing. I’d say the newer switch version looks more realistic to how actual diving feels and looks.

The Switch version of Endless Ocean looks way better than the cartoonish looking Wii original, I preordered it for Switch and I’m looking forward to playing it as i never played the originals on Wii. I can’t believe nobody’s really talking about this.

I won’t lie I was expecting more from a brand new game. This would be fine if it was a remaster of the old game but these two honestly shouldn’t even be similar graphically almost 15 years later.

Well to be fair, we really are only one console generation later for Nintendo (noting that Switch is a handheld with approx same power as Wii U). The number of years isn’t really relevant other than to say yes, it is time for the Switch 2.

Its been almost 1 and a half decades and other companies have gone leaps and bounds ahead These graphics are not much improved from the Wii. PS5 is much better than PS3. There are also gorgeous games on the switch so there really is no excuse for this to look like a Wii game with slightly better textures.

I love the premise, but this looks pretty poor for a 2024 release and will probably be 720p and 30fps at best. If anything, it just proves that the Switch is in desperate need of a hardware upgrade and could look so much better on literally any other platform at this point.

This isnt anything from Endless Ocean, the track you hear in the background is from the deep sea section of the museum in Animal Crossing.

I assume from the name that they are going to have fluorescence and bioluminescence, but they aren't showing it yet, for some reason. That might help sell the game at $50.
Realistic animal behavior (slightly altered to not be so shy of humans) would be one way to sell this.
A game with this premise should look as beautiful as Avatar 2, but this doesn't. Or it could be in VR on the Quest or PSVR2.

When a indie game like subnautica is on the Switch and looks 100X better, there's nothing that makes me want this. The fish don't look alive, you can tell too much it's a video game.
