Very knowledgeable garage not often do people do things right usually its a cost issue but doing everything at once at one cost is a much cheaper option in the long run even 7K for a brand new ubody refreshed ep3 shell + all suspension parts would be a good price
@@OllyRossjust had the Subaru done lucky for me it only took about 100 hours in total but that was free labour as did it myself so saved a few pennies
I think there’ll be more than we think. The Ep2/Ep3 has sky rocketed in popularity due to social media so there’s a lot more people wanting to get one (myself included😅)
Mine will be coming for this next year and actually dreading it 😅 still can weigh up if to do it with motion or do it my self with a local body shop who do restorations on mk1 and mk2 golf’s.
Personally, once you see the work that really goes into it... it's not worth doing it any other way. Hopefully the rest of this series will give you an idea of what to expect.
At this point in time, you know as much as me now. I haven't seen any update pictures or anything. Part 2 should be next weekend as I am heading back in the week
Definitely need a price breakdown. I’ve just bought back my old ep3 back after the spoon build ( review on jamiefyd channel) sorry for the plug… But I’m looking at fully restoring the underside over the summer. Before I sold the ep3 I had the drivers sills done with tegiwa replacements the day they came out and haven’t looked under car since re-ownership. Spoon build is still happening though …..
Just take it to a waxoyl undersealing centre pay 350 quid and job done mate. Top it up every year or so. Done this with mine and it's fine. Top it up with lanoguard too and again no problems.
Are we gonna get a cost break down olly ? When she's done ? Was think of doing the same on my drive axle stands but it's not gonna get anywhere neer the finish these guys give
I will indeed. Once the car is finished, I shall break down everything so you can get an idea but it is a lot of money! The series should show you just how much work there is that goes into it though
Brilliant video as always dude. Results will be great! My EP2 is pretty old and crusty and I would love to do something like this but it’s definitely not worth spending the money on it. I’ll drive it until it rots away I guess 😅
Had a ep3 type r in 2010 and all I can say is its a incredible car.. even nw if you see a nice example still looks special.. Well worth it what he is doing has its a very special car honda made
I'm surprised about the bad condition of the body because the rest of the car is looking great. You should have look sooner at this is my opinion. Succes with it👍
This isn't even that bad underneath. I knew this was the case and doing the rest of the car was the better way round to do because I always knew this step would come. Now, once this is finished, the car is almost exactly how I always wanted it to be.
Well, as it is so close, you should go to Motion! I am over 2 hours away so having them more local would make filming this series a whole lot easier! Haha
Good luck with this mate. Do it once and do it properly, is what i say. Been there and done that with my S2000. Yours is going to be too good to drive!
Thanks man! I am looking forward to seeing it all done and feeling what it is like to drive! Going to be a new car underneath! One day the S2000 will get done too!
Well worth doing . Mine failed on rotten sills and didn’t have time or money to repair . Was a good build as well and drove perfectly. They will do a good job at motion and cavity wax all the insides which is needed as mine rotted from inside sills as well as trapped moisture from previous under seals . Reckon if it had been properly cavity waxed would have survived as that was never done
No way! That is so crazy! I am so glad it has lived up to your expectations and that the way I show the car on video is an accurate representation of what it is like!
now that my mine sleeps in a garage every night i would really like to give it a good treatement like you do, im curious of how its going to be made like new 😍
Yeah, it really depends on the car but it starts at £2500 for a car that doesn't need any rust work. I have another video that covers this in more detail here: ua-cam.com/video/MQGr94A09I4/v-deo.htmlsi=SVA5g_lkU9TJoKK3
One thing im confused about is they mentioned about cars being poorly undersealed due to moisture. But if you put waxoyl on, and keep it topped up, it displaces water. They must be referring to traditional underseal, rather than the oilbased option?
@@OllyRoss I know mate I bowed out early but I had to do what was best for me maybe if I had of turbod it I would of enjoyed it more but it got broken into which sort of sealed its fate for me knowing somone had been in the car they took my dragy and code reader so it immediately made me not want the car if that makes sense
Can’t wait to see the results, I’m definitely considering this for my dc5 in the future, looks unreal.
Me too! It is definitely going to be worth it long term! A fresh car underneath is going to be so nice!
Hi josh! looking at this as well haha my car needs a few patches and some end sills, big big money mind you!

Exactly! It is good to buy once and cry once with this job especially!
This is called ..opening a tin of worms 😂 and when the fitter says "who the fuck did this " but it was you 😂
Isn’t it can of worms 🤔
Hahaha! That is what I was expecting but I think I got away with it! Haha

Some money put into that dc5 jesus
Absolutely! Big money! So stunning!
Amazing love to see it, good to see someone else willing to go this far to save the car and give it a chance to stick around for another 20 years
Don’t think many will be left in the next 5-10 years so it is worth it long term for sure

I 100% recommend saving for it if you plan on keeping the car long term!

Been waiting for this one! Thanks for sharing your journey.😊
Me too! Haha! No worries at all! I think this will be a 5 part mini series in total.
Fantastic content. Need to get my s2k into this place!
Thanks man! Appreciate you watching! Yeah, I need to get my S2000 there too but this has wiped the bank account out for a bit! Haha
How much would something like this cost?
That is coming in Episode 4 so stay tuned

Thought I recognised a stoke twang there, they're about 3 miles from me,
Just had a fair amount of welding done but being a civic it'll soon need more

Unfortunately the death of these cars! Sad times! This is the only real way to do it so I am hoping this will preserve the cars for years to come
Great video! I recently brought an ep3 about a month ago and I love it. Engine sounds amazing. Your the reason I brought one lol

@@OllyRoss Thanks Olly, something I'll definitely look at, when I get all the other bits sorted 🙈
You've not done your MOT tester any favours here
What do you mean
One thing im confused about is they mentioned about cars being poorly undersealed due to moisture.
But if you put waxoyl on, and keep it topped up, it displaces water. They must be referring to traditional underseal, rather than the oilbased option?
I believe they are referring to the moisture you are trapping in underneath the under seal. It is covered more in Episode 2 that is coming soon
@@OllyRoss if the car is dry when it's done that shouldn't be an issue.
I bet thats going to be very expensive i rekon best part of 5k
Yeah, that is my lower estimate. I still don't know how much it is going to be
Nice vid Olly. Do the guys sandblast the car on the lift? Can wait to see the results in 2 weeks.
They are going to hit it with grinder wheels. I should have more info on that in the next video once I go back up to see the progress
@@OllyRoss cool 😎

That’s going to be killer
It’s going to be next level! I can’t wait
What would be a rough estimated price for this work?
Something like £3500 -£4500
I will go into more detail in another episode but expect it to start at £2500 for no rust repair and undercoat
awesome. cant wait to see the progress
Thanks! should be around 5 episodes for this series
How much is it costing you
Not sure yet to be honest
Every Honda owners dream to have this done - Great content Olly 🤙 🔥
Including mine! A huge step in getting this car how I have always wanted it
Hello Olly,
I just bought a low milage ep3. Same spec as youres. Love the Chanel.

Nice one! Welcome to the club! Haha! Appreciate you watching the videos!
motion are poor, dodge them
why
Why are they poor? I was thinking of getting mine done from here. Any insight would be helpful 😊
Why are they
Would you care to elaborate?
They were always good to me with my K24 EG. I’ll be going back when my DC2 arrives aswell.
