Whew " im glad he washes his hands , as he played both my guitars just days after this , hehe, what a genuine and nice young guy he is , walks the walk as well as talks the talk, look forward to seeing him over in Spain again sometime when visiting the folks and having the immense pleasure of him playing with the guys at the jam, onward and upward bro '
Great interview. Rabea is so down to earth and über talented. I have no doubt we'll be hearing much more from him and his bands in the future. The Nuno influence makes sense👍
This guy is so dope. Just a mellow, humble guy with a great sense of humor who is so talented that it just comes easy to him. Not that he doesn't work his ass off at his craft, but like Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods or Joe Bonamassa, you can just see that he is where he belongs and is doing what he's meant to do with his talent. And the riff I would want to be known by is the same as Bea's: Shine on Crazy Diamond and also Voodoo Chile from Hendrix. And Smoke on the Water is a runner up.
great interview Bea, love those amps too gonna grab an H&K this year the 18w to compliment my classic plexi, started my Musicium course last night about to go for another lesson now so looking foward to aquiring some new skills this year and sounds tones......love ya work mate keep on keeping on...
7thString That's an ML-1 BEA, Rabeas signature model : ), it looks pretty different because he's reliced the finish and switched the bridge pickup to a bare knuckle warpig. There's a wicked video up on his channel of the process, you should check it out!
When you talk about picking is funny... Been trying to do economy picking going up the strings...it's so hard. When I try to go fast it automatically does alternate picking. When I go down the strings I automatically do economy picking. Hard to do alternate picking fast. Strange and opposite. As a teenager I never really sat down n tried to learn economy picking so it became a a habit from just playing.
As a Musician who voted leave I understand his worries. Let's be clear though our trade with new markets could help the British music industry, we could get better visa permits to places like South Africa, India, New Zealand. US, Canada etc. Places like India as well open opportunities for emerging markets. Also we don't know yet how Brexit will play out.
What kills me is that they act like everyone who voted to leave are causing problems, the EU hate we lefted so they we do everything to make it harder.. So any things he mention is the video part is on the E.U for being twats..
Yep, that's totally true, especially since the times of the internet. If you're not savvy in the bits that you have to do around the actual making music part, it's almost impossible to get ahead. Rabea definitely knows his stuff though!
Absolutely. I haven't met him in person however, he comes across as a genuine good bloke. Glad to see this amongst the sea of mediocrity and the high and mighty that believe they are too good for the rest. Keep flying the professional flag!!!
I was a drummer before guitar as well. Applied rhythms with guitar and naturally adapted with the soul and feel of a 6 string. I've came a long way , check out my channel
Rabea is just class. I love his music and he seems like a very nice guy. All the Best to you!
TheMasamir Yeah man. He is. I've met him a few times as I live in Brighton, England where he lives and he's a really chilled and nice guy.
I love him as a person, hate EVERYTHING he's been involved in musically.
How well do you know him?
Lovely guy , super talented. Do not really like his bands either. Should write more stuff like Nuno
He is truly a very nice guy and actually fixed my iPhone at NAMM!
Rabea is of the earth

A great interview with one of the classiest, funniest guys on UA-cam. Cheers, Bea!
Nice interview, seems to be a very kind guy
Agreed about 'those 4 notes' - when I discovered that 6th fret two note chord for that, I was stoked!

If you like Nuno so much, why haven't you done a sounds like :c? He has the most raw and powerful tone in my opinion
I was so sure he would pick David Gilmour`s shine on you crazy diamond !
Andy Timmons!!! I'm surprised he got mentioned, he's got such unique phrasing and great tone. Nice to see you know of him and he's influenced you!

I'm the same with Bea about washing my hands with warm water and soap before playing guitar as well. I like to keep my strings clean.
Same haha, I swear they make them sound better for longer
Max Scardanelli same here
Max Scardanelli Aha, I do that as well. Especially if I have new strings on
Max Scardanelli Exactly the same man
yibes You're right. They do because you've washed off all the grease, sweat and oils that are on your hands.
Good interview and great insight!!
Bea which grew faster the fro or your skillz?
I saw in a q&a that his fro doesn't grow anymore
Rabea..When you do the 'sound like' videos..have you ever bought any of the things you tried, pedals, amp etc ?
your just being proactive in your brain. it means your prepared. nice
+1 with the shaking legs during the first song :D
Which chapman model is that on the right? Looks beautiful!

Mini Surf I am the same way. Going up the strings my brain automatically does alternate but down the strings I do economy picking
Anybody know what tuning Rabea uses on his chapman?
Anyone can tell me what is the name of te first band he mentioned? Cannibal? I don't understand too much english
Sure, it's Karnivool :) Amazing band, and you can hear their influence on Rabea too!
+Hughes & Kettner thank you! Amazing interview, cheers!
As you can see from the spelling English doesn't make much of a difference if you were trying to look them up :)
Whats the name of the guitarist he mentions at 1:22 ? I can't understand it.
It's Nuno Bettencourt! Who's a former H&K player himself, of course...

Well...uh...it's one year later and uh...bro, you're just wrong.
Rickey Ryan or...and this is something new...maybe that wouldn't have been a problem if you didn't leave?
I really hope this is sarcasm.
May I ask, has Bea switched to H&K from Victory?
Jay Mason he hasn't ^^
TMmodify Oh okay good
Nah, he hasn't - we're just good friends ;)
Majority of musicians don't understand that their career as a musician is also a career as a self employed entrepreneur.
Yep, that's totally true, especially since the times of the internet. If you're not savvy in the bits that you have to do around the actual making music part, it's almost impossible to get ahead. Rabea definitely knows his stuff though!

David Gilmour can do more with one note than any other musician.
I wash my hands too yo!
is it only me who think that his face is quite like synyster gates?
0:01 - 0:09 wat
05:17 someone got a text :-P
Bea is a PIMP!
I think that's unlikely that working visas will be needed in Europe. Perhaps in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.
I was a drummer before guitar as well. Applied rhythms with guitar and naturally adapted with the soul and feel of a 6 string. I've came a long way , check out my channel
actually this is pish
, Need to get rid of that guy talking and just play guitar , l have no patience for bs talk
Ya know it says 'interview' in the title of the video that you clicked on
Here you go Pancho - the video of Rabea's pure playing, no talk, shot the same day: ua-cam.com/video/9AQ8NrP-82A/v-deo.html
JonV
That guy at the beginning ws
JonV
That guy at the beginning of the video was talking too long never saw him interview anyone, sorry couldn't wait for his speech to end
Hughes & Kettner
