Man, every time I see Rabea involved in the Nolly Software Universe it just makes me so goddamn happy. It's like watching your favorite athlete get drafted at the top of the class and then crush it on the main stage. That dude made huge impressions on my life, both with music and even with the health-related stuff he put out there in mid 2017 and I cannot accurately explain how wildly hyped I am both for this video and for the absolute shine that's been placed on Rabea. Bless everything about this lol
Same here, I've always been amazed by Rabea's riffs and solos, and he seems like a great guy, I'd love to meet him. It is very nice to see this partnership, and the others like neural, mayones, andertons, he deserves it all!
Nolly seems SO proud of what he's accomplished here. And he should be. He has immortalized something that would have otherwise been lost in the passage of time. All speakers have a finite amount of usage before they're essentially dead. I can't wait to get my hands on this new plug-in. I think it's going to be a game changer.
What a labour of love, I doubt there is a IR that has is meticulously recorded as Nolly did with these. Simply phenmoenal, been using Bogren IR's and those were my staple and the best I had come across but these and the plugin itself is certainly making me expand my horizons.
GGD and Zilla have given bedroom guitarists so much power. Honestly the sounds we can produce, we have no excuses. Go forth and write the next masterpieces of metal (or whatever you want). The Nolly Extended Universe is incredible.
The promo uploads you guys have done for this product have been so sick. Already bought the product but still check out all the uploads for it cause they're dope. Cheers!

The amount of time and effort that this man has put in to this just out of pure love for different sounds, and just chasing perfection, is honestly just unreal. Thank you.
Unbelievable video. The dude literally traded mesa cabs by the serial number and then made several jaw dropping tones. I got epic Nostalgia as I will never forget working my ass off an entire summer to get my mesa stack. Hitting that first drop D cord cranked gave me a smile I will never forget. On a technical note, I own some ownhammer stuff and it's killer, but annoying to work with as its just a million file names that are hard to really experiment with. This is like the modern day guitarists version of drum trigger by slate. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you Nolly!!!!
I definitely admire Nolly for his labor of love regarding this plugin, he's so passionate about what he does and having the opportunity to enjoy his work first-hand it's just mindblowing!
After watching Nolly with Kristian Kohle getting nerdy about V30s in a difgerent video, I started to think "I probably should find some old V30s myself!" I never dreamed that short after that Cali Oversized will be released... I am probably still dreaming 😅 Now the tone hunt begins inside this superb plugin! Thank you Nolly for the journey that you went through making this possible and for sharing the result with the world! Now we have all the tools for creating killer songs and for producing MASSIVE mixes 😳😀😎
I love how they described the nostalgia of certain tones. It's funny because when I heard Rabea play that boosted 5150 at 19:20, I was INSTANTLY taken back to my friend's Peavey 5150 2x12 when we were trying to be in a metal band.
Almost a year later and I still love watching these in depth videos, and I'm still obviously rocking the Cali Oversized as my main cabs for anything metal (my own band or clients bands). I even got close to selling my orange ppc 412 since I was not longer using it to record my own band ever since I got the plug in, just kept the cab to record more like rock and stoner/doom bands in my studio. Other than that Cali Oversized are my go to cabs nowadays.
nolly if you ever read this, just to let you know that you inspire me and many others to persue music, audio engeering, recording, mixing and we love you for every thing youve done/will do for this industry and this community
The biggest thanks to Nolly for all your hard work and obsession over tone because it’s finally captivated a tone chase I’ve had myself since listening to KSE when I was younger. Although I’ve grown to love all kinds of modern metal since then, the guitar tones on “End of Heartache” are the ones that first made me pursue playing metal guitar and they have been elusive to me. I’ve come close but after picking up the plug-in I can say that it definitely “hit me in the feels” and finally have me that tone ive been after for over a decade. Nolly you are a true legend when it comes to the metal guitar community. Thank you 🙏
I'm a simple man, I use a 6505+ with a straight 4×12 (loaded with Eminence speakers) for a live performance and to me alot of this content is still foreign, but every time I watch content from Adam and Rabea I learn something new.
This has made me like Nolly lool. I was never a huge fan of his main bands, and I dont own any of his plugins, but hearing him talk about this stuff I can't help but love the passion. Respect from Bristol (I understand you aint too far from here..nice)
I've been struggling with high gain tones thru my kemper for YEARS, endlessly scrolling through different cab options trying to find something with good low mid response and a natural sounding high end. I just pulled the trigger on these IRs and have pretty much reached my holy grail tone in ten minutes of tweaking. If you have the money to spare, this is a complete game changer in your tone. I'm using the Howard Benson Peavey 5150 (from his producer kemper pack, highly recommended), along with the Detailed cab/sm57 blended with the Massive cab/md421-u. EQ to taste and it's the Gojira sound in a box.
Man I just pulled the trigger on this and am so excited to try it out. That early Killswitch and Trivium tone is all I ever wanted. I can totally relate to Nolly’s obsession with tone-chasing but I don’t have the gear knowledge or experience to know what I’m even looking for so it’s just not a good time. So I’m very glad to have a perfectionist like Nolly out there doing years of testing and waking up in the middle of the night rethinking mic placements and I can just give him $50 lol
Bought it, straight after release on Instagram! Long thought about Zilla by GGD, but when I saw New cabs, I thought this is it! And felt in love with it from first plug! Easy to use and sounds great out the box! I don't think I'll need any new ir in a big amount of time... Thanks GGD TEAM!
Can you please explain me how to use it? I use it in pro tools but I can only get clean sounds out of it. Do i have to put another plug in before this one?
From me recording these last few years with other bands, whether it's metal, rock, indie, or whatever, you can never go wrong with a V30 speaker cab. Lots of knowledge in this video. Can't wait to see part 2 and 3!
Hey Adam..I watched your V30 differences video a couple of months ago….I just scored a 1987 Jubilee 4x12 cab with 8ohm Marshall G12 V30’s…….it’s my second Jubilee Cab from 1987…..Really enjoyed your observations on the V30 ,as I am obsessed with these speakers..my favorite speakers ever…This plug in is amazing….getting to play through these older V30’s is really special…Thank you for doing this….maybe some Marshall cabs with the Marshall V30’s next??
Rabea talked about references of tones from previous musical experiences... that for me is Metallica: And Justice for All..... something about that guitar sound just lights me up.
great video... i would pay good money to hear Nolly interview an engineer for celestion, someone that was there from 2000 - 2010 ish... i think it would be crazy interesting
Every time nolly changed from one speaker to another I went like "holy shit that is the sound, no that is the sound, not that is the sound...". Like I can hear so many records with each cab it's scary how much I was smiling and shouting the whole time dude.
Nolly nailed the description on the gutteral cab, sounds exactly like the midrange on alot of black dahlia murder records to me ( nocturnal for instance) and other audiohammer bands.
Amazing idea to do al this Nolly! Any chance you guys can make a video to explain how to export the IR and import it into a modeler like the AXEFX or Kemper?
do the 2x12s too! recto 2x12, roadster/roadking combo, tremoverb combo. mic'ed up right and against the wall they have more bass half the time than the half stack
Any chance that you also took IRs of room mics as you did with the Zilla and Gold Pack to integrate those in a future update? I know high gain sound normaly don’t really need that, but it’s such a joy to have it while noodling around… 😅
Hi Adam, just wanted to say thank you for your effort in creating these fantastic impulses. I just bought all three packs and LOVE them. One question, which IR loader are you using personally? I am considering buying a hardware solution now that I love these IRs so much, because I can’t stand the little latency from the roundtrip through my DAW… Thanks in advance, Christopher
This sounds amazing and it's so nice to be able to know all this information regarding the making of the plugin. I would only ask if possible, just for curiosity, what were the settings in the 5150 amp used for this video! Thanks so much!
So far I’ve only seen the first few minutes of the video so maybe I'm wrong but do I understand correctly that there is actually a single slant Mesa cabinet here and Nolly swapped the different V30 speakers in the different positions? I first guessed that the options include 6 pieces from Nolly’s personal Mesa cabinet collection. Don't get me wrong it sounds great anyway.
Later in the video he talks about how he get one of the 6 cabs, (he traded it to one that he didn't like so much), so it sounds like these are different cabs with different speakers. Also some of them are an angled top speaker (at least one), others are bottom ones.
Maybe I missed it but I don't see where you discuss how it sits in your work flow. Ie. Does it require an amp modeler (like Bias FX) and you would then remove the cab in the Bias chain and use this plug in behind Bias FX to replace the cab removed in Bias FX? Or is there a way to sync this to other amp mods so it appears in that software in the cab option section? I feel like this is key info you failed to explain.
It's a phantastic work! Production ready. Probably you don't need to eq anything. But how can I use it with my tube preamps? I need a power amp sim for this. Any suggestion?
@@serenitybroken I did this with other IRs. But I inserted TPA-1 from Ignite Amps. But this increases the latency. That's why I bought Cab M from Two Notes. They have a poweramp simulation integrated. Wouldn't is be cool if Cali Oversized also integrates a power amp sim in the future?
This is probably the most animated and excited I've seen Nolly about anything. Haha. Love it! good vibes
Dude is a complete geek ass nerd I love it because so am I
19:12 Massive cab
25:29 Gutural cab
29:55 Upfront cab
34:10 Thick cab
38:21 Detailed cab
43:43 Smooth cab
Thank you father
Nolly and Rabea together??? Daaaaammnnn
i could totally listen to Nolly talk ALL day about stuff like this and not get bored..
@icon i like the modern metal community because talent is appreciated and nolly is like talent personified

this is so wholesome, 10/10
What was the health-related stuff?
"the Nolly Software Universe"
This got me *so* good. 💀
Nolly seems SO proud of what he's accomplished here. And he should be. He has immortalized something that would have otherwise been lost in the passage of time. Nolly does it like no other. Greatest cab sims in existence hands down
Just two buds having a good time. You love to see it
Man, I could listen to these two talking about guitar tones all day.
This was already a gem, but knowing Josh Middleton was on the tone journey with Nolly just fills me with joy
What a labour of love, I doubt there is a IR that has is meticulously recorded as Nolly did with these. Simply phenmoenal, been using Bogren IR's and those were my staple and the best I had come across but these and the plugin itself is certainly making me expand my horizons.
I love the fact that Bea went for the my curse riff for the up-front cab. Love this plugin so much

There has never been a statement more accurate than this.

I just discovered Nolly this month. I get the distinct impression that my life is about to change. Certainly my musical creation life at least!
He was my go-to for tone chasing all these years!

Bought it on day 1, thanks 🙏
This is a fantastic week for guitar players! Great software and great video with two of my favorite musicians!
Nollys cabs are the best i have ever used. It’s insane that i dont even have to eq drop c or b guitars. Genuinely love this plugin

First video of three with Nolly and Rabea! Exciting to see their chemistry together talking about music and tones!!
I know that the video content is about Cali cabs....but I have to say that we all love Nolly and his incredible input in music!!
Cheers
Please make series like this one into a podcast series! I would so love to listen to this stuff while I work or drive.
This is Astonishing! The detail level on this It is so meticulous that made me cry tears of gain ! For sure it makes a difference!

This dude has an incredible ear for tone. Totally bonkers
The angled/straight thing is also about the comb filtering caused by the reflected backwave hitting the back of the cone.

Amazing how good these sound ! Nolly absolutely killed it with this one .
this is the cross-over we all needed
And the hyphen that we didn't. "Crossover" is the way it's typed out.
Nolly saying "Hitting me in the feels" while talking about cabs is the funniest thing I've heard in a while LOL
20:28
Nolly is slowly becoming a Cabinet.
So much joy seeing these two just gush about this stuff. Love it. AND 1 of 3?? I'm IN
I hate coffee, and don't wear glasses...but this makes me wanna drink coffee and clean my glasses, whilst taking notes. I love it.

Thanks guys. An afternoon treat!
Just bought it 😎 THAT price can't be real for the value 😍, but now I know what gifts I will give to some friends for Christmas 😆

"You're a wizard Nolly"
Accurate
That's it. I'm picking this up and picking up my guitar after 3-4 years hiatus.
Y'all being this stoked about this product makes me stoked about this product
Nolly nailed the description on the gutteral cab, sounds exactly like the midrange on alot of black dahlia murder records to me ( nocturnal for instance) and other audiohammer bands.
give us part 2 already! :)
I LOVE tech talks :)
Yoooo Rabea!! Thanks for bringing him on and congrats Nolly on this smashing product
i love Rabea's face when Nolly goes into the baffle explanation..
Fantastic! I love a lenghty and nerdy vid like this! Will buy for sure
Nolly is such an intelligent dude. Rabea also an awesome guy 🤘
I love this plug-in worth every dollar
This was super interesting and fun to watch
This was so interesting. Cant wait to see the other 2 parts

Wish I could get across my love for you two. Proud.
Love this, very informative
Any interest in going into this level of detail with a few other iconic speakers? Greenbacks, Creambacks, Eminence, etc?
This sounds amazing and it's so nice to be able to know all this information regarding the making of the plugin. I would only ask if possible, just for curiosity, what were the settings in the 5150 amp used for this video! Thanks so much!
I would like to know this as well!
@@somni_studios Nolly answered me at GGD forum. Pretty standard. As if a clock, lows 1, mids 11, treble 1, ressonance 1 presence 3
@@marcpeiron_studio now I have some amp settings to try on our block letter! 🤘🏼
