I'm very pro minimum wage as so many employers exploit their staff, however, if it means people will lose their job then it should not apply. Something is better than nothing. This is a difficult one as maybe companies can afford to increase their wages but don't want to but others genuinely can't afford it, especially in smaller companies.
We need "... boldness, courage... " - sounds to me you can't put those qualities and CR in the same sentence.

PS The only thing Boesak is right about is that an ANC coalition with the DA won't work because the DA's policy is grounded in reality and the ANC ideology, while admirable, is a popular fiction but at least they respect the constitution, something that the EFF and MK wants to violate at every level.

Very disingenuous from Alan Boesak to criticize the DA when the ANC did very little for the poor, except enriching themselves. Thirty years and very little change, so this was enough time.

Boesak calls for inclusivity but rejects the DA, contradicting true national unity. He nostalgically references the 1994 unity government while also deeming it flawed.

Europe and most democratic capitalist countries does not have African type poverty. Even the eastern block countries that was part of the Russian federation has accepted democracy and doing well.

Open Border policy has no root to racism, with the current business practice policies in South Africa that is racially driven, Open Borders in Africa only exacerbates poverty and lack opportunity in all South African Borne communities, whether African, Coloured, Indian or White.
Is South Africa not for all who are born and bred in it. All what the South African People want is for borders to be maintained and managed according to our constitution.
Immigration should be driven by accepting immigrants bringing SKILLS THAT WE CANNOT DEVELOP OURSELVES IN OUR COUNTRY or/and MONEY, FISCAL BASED ASSETS that will develop and contribute positively to our country.
We cannot accept anything less that that as we cannot sacrifice our minimum unskilled and moderately skilled opportunity to foreign nationals, especially taken into fact that this CHEAP(UNTAXED) LABOUR is also a negative contributing factor to the DEGRADATION of our economy that's been happening over a prolonged time and clearly the market degradation of our economy correlates with the period since open border policy had been introduced.
