This Scottish/American has seen Neil over the years and his sound in concert is always spot on. His song writer qualities are like his guitar playing. Intense and emotional. ........ Goosebumps 😊

Reaction videos bring new appreciation for this jaded listener who gets to see and hear how these classics are interpreted and absorbed by fresh ears. Glad to see you quietly taking it in without the customary pauses to interject.

I've always liked Neil Young. Especially when he plays with Crazy Horse.

Granny you’re so cute. I’ll bet you dated Neil back in the day. Thanks for the great video. Young was also a fine guitar player.

Hey Granny, one of Neil's finest without a doubt, his laid back ragged glory at its zenith here...though having a drummer and rhythm guitarist who had just smoked PCP before recording and a bassist and Neil fucked up on tequila and honey slides how could it be anything but loose....so good

As an American Irishman the story told here is a history the Scott's Irish know all to well. Tormented by overlords many hundreds of years. My grandmother GRHS born in the late 1800s wouldn't accept anything produced under the Crown of England 😢 9:34

OK, I'm gonna jump in here coz you've opened about 6 cans of worms without knowing it (I guess)!
First of all, if you use the term 'Scots Irish' (a term which those people never use about themselves), you are using the expression which Americans tend to use for the Ulster Scots / Ulster Unionists. Far from being 'tormented by overlords', they were given enormous privilege by the British crown (not English!), from the 17th century onwards. As a result, they have been historically very loyal to the British monarchy, in contrast to the majority of Irish people, of whom your grandmother was one (and I am another).
Meanwhile the Scottish people had their own problems with landlords, leading to the Highland Clearances, which you might have been thinking of. How much that can be blamed on the English is a matter of debate. Most of those landlords were Scottish, but some were educated in England and might not have thought of themselves a s Scots.
The English crown stopped being English in 1603, when it became Scottish and a British identity emerged. Then it became German in 1714. I guess you can call it British now, but the present king's great grandparents were Scottish, English, Greek and Danish, Austrian and German.
The main thing is that we try to remember that, wherever we come from, we have far more in common than we have which divides us and that is the basis of the peace which has held (thank God!) since the 1990s.
Sorry to jump down your throat but someone was going to and I thought it better to be someone who is sympathetic to what you rea trying to say, rather than someone who will...well, y'know
I probably won't reply and will probably also delete this comment soon.

Thanks for the song! I was just listening to Grace Potter and Joe Satriani's cover of Cortez the Killer (ua-cam.com/video/xPy-vnsN1e8/v-deo.html) . I saw your reaction and had to listen again. By the way I am from the states but my wife's family lives near Oban in Argyll, we were just there this summer. You might like the version of Cortez I linked above. Grace Potter does the vocals justice, Willie Waldman adds a nice touch to the song on the trumpet, and Joe Satriani is, well Joe. I was able to see Neil Young in Germany at the 1982 Golden Summer Night concert with Nils Lofgren, Jethro Tull, April Wine, Michael Schenker Group and King Crimson, outstanding concert.
