"Poverty tourism"? Is that the phrase I'm grasping at? Rich kids slumming it, trying to act "bohemian" and getting it wrong. I've known a few. The rumour is that the lady in the song is now the wife of the Greek Finance Minister - the guy that defaulted on Greece's debts when their economy failed... Danae Stratou is the alleged subject. Yeah, it's pretty dark, but I think the whole album's got that kinda undercurrent to it. Great song.

Even without the benefit of a video, the music still conveys such tension it's almost unbearable. It takes a genius like Mark Knopfler to come up with such powerful music. Thanks for featuring this gem, dear Scottish Gran! 👍
