A role model she wasn't, but l loved her.
So much to take in at once ,you have to watch it so many times to fully understand how intense it is.
I love you The Scottish Gran, from a Welsh boy x
She never was given fair consideration and was lost in the bevy of talent. The 60's were rife with female vocalists and a deep pool to swim in.
I always get sad when I see this video. Knowing how much Eric Carr wanted to be in the video playing his drums while beeing so extremly sick as he was. And he made it with heavy medications. R.I.P Eric Carr
This was covered by Tommy Johansson when he left Sabaton. He really did a better job of it! 😊
Love this. Thanks from Canada. Maybe you can do The Lighting Seeds - Pure. Classic from the era as well. Cheers
you should check out the exploited. good old fashioned punk rock
it never gets old it's got some weird evergreen nature to it , it still sounds as fresh as when I first heard it in the charts as a kid
You have good taste Gran!
Perhaps the best line that Phil ever wrote was 'Roll me over and turn me around, Let me keep spinning till I hit the ground'. Hard to keep a dry eye when I listen to this. We miss him.
Hello Scottish Gran… great reaction and love the song… ❤️ I noticed you missed two really good Ren songs Money Ties and Slaughterhouse… both fantastic… think you will love… sorry to put on this reaction but couldn’t find a community tab… but love this… ❤️❤️
One of my favorites!
Great song! Thin Lizzy is an awesome band!
All I know is that this song is too damn short, it should've been a bigger hit in the States & I won't pass up any opportunity to revisit this lovely piece. Thanks for showing the original video BTW; didn't realize 1 existed. As for what you want your listeners/watchers to recommend to you, I don't think you'd like what I like unless you want to try heavy metal. I'm guessing unlike this song you haven't heard THAT before.
i cant believe i just found you love you so much
i love you
oh my days just found you! Scottish girl originally glasgow then settled on a wee island on the west coast ISLE OF BUTE ROTHESY
I don't know a ton about music writing, but I'm trying to start listening to some older songs lately. Thanks for the video!
Its good to hear the perspective from the older generation
I honestly can't stand Luke Combs' version but I am grateful it has brought more attention to Tracy. The amount of raw emotion she brings to her performance(s) is unmatched.
I think my favourite Kinks song was All Day and All of the Night
Another classic song there. Time in a Bottle Scottish Gran?
Bittersweet. It feels like yesterday when I was still a youth listening to this song. Now, many lovely and cool people from my youth are already in their twilight years, or even gone. A lot of people, close and distant, to remember fondly and with appreciation for who they were and the time I got to live with them. Reminds me of year ago when Beatles released Now and Then.
greetings and wishes to a Scottish Gran from a Canadian Gramps
That's the one. Cheers
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe.. Still a classic - I love the evolution of these guys. Some of the later albums are absolutely stunning.
the might get famous if the change the guitar player, he just stands around /s sorry mr Greenwood!!! im not worth it!!!
yes, as a 60s guy deeply into music and politics, they certainly were
Profound social observation accompanied by beautiful and haunting music. Let's not forget that this was written by a 24 year old working class lad. Also, let's not forget George Martin and Geoff Emerick.
Genius piece of music
here in Toronto, Canada there were rules when hearing this song: if seated you rose (if you could) and put your right fist in the air. When Grace got to _Feed Your Head_ you pumped your fist to the beat. A lovely tribal experience. ☮☯☮
the piece that convinced my Bach-loving Dad that there was genius here. He started listening to our albums with a fresh and open ear. Didn't change his opinion of the length of my hair, though. Peace on, Scottish Gran from a Canadian Gramps.
I really enjoyed your comment. Please react to Christina Aguilera's song The Voice Within!
Wearing a face she keeps in a jar by the door.. who is it for.. I believe that is face cream..
yes, either face cream or maybe a face she has to put on when she's out alone and vulnerable in the world
Great tune. sometimes you appreciate such great musioc as you get older.
McCartney supposedly said to George Martin can we somehow use the same driving stings they used in the film "Psycho" whatever for this to come from a 24 year old is amazing!
Oh! The strings! George M. the 5th Beatle.
It has and will endure the test of time. A special peice , and lucky for them one of many.
Heyyyy Native American/German Gran in Massachusetts, Excuse if it is personal Did you have a connection with the experience described therein?
I love him, thanks a lot!
His mother is Swedish❤️
Still my favorite from way back...specially " my lady D'Arbanville"
I liked PP Arnold's version when it came out, still do but...this has a frailty that none of the other versions do. Mind you, The Koobas did a really good, heavyish, version back in the 6'0's which is probably my next favourite.
Love how the lyrics either say I got cut, or someone was cut by another! Great Song!
It was a shock when Bob Dyan added electric guitars. And the Beatles started around 1965 adding a strings (Yesterday). This song shows how evolution of popular music in the sixties worked, a beautiful acoustical song combined with a rock band and added violins. I like the result, but the acoustic version would have sufficed for me, great song to sing at a campfire.
This is my fave version too .I guess you know he sold the rights to this song to PP Arnold for £30 .very generous!
Gran, your accent places you squarely in Scotland, but with your taste in music, you could have grown up in my neck of the woods. (state of North Carolina in USA) Great tune and thanks!
After several visits to your channel, Gran, I've decided to sub. You have great taste in music, sweet lady! Thanks from the US.
Love this song, Gran. Have you listened to the version they did live in Denmark with the orchestra? It's wonderful!
Thanks, Gran. Great song. I'm off to listen to your post of Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper." I think we have a lot of music in common. I'm a young 70 and had 9 older brothers and sisters, so I know music from the '50's onward. Thank you for your posts (from the US)
