Dude, if people are seriously trolling you because you say "byte" instead of "bit" and things like that, they need to get a life. Don't let trolls discourage you. You're video was very helpful and helped me in making a $1000 purchase.
Wagner sounds better than other Dells. Open the bottom lid and you can replace the battery, the M.2 device, the memory, the WLAN and WWAN cards. i picked one up for $200 and I get 8 penguins when booting. A very nice machine. Recommended. Try a chromebook, when in doubt...
@@AICvideo Ive bought this laptop shortly after. If you use it in optimized power mode it's fanless all the time. I repasted cpu/gpu with coolermaster MasterGel and its working really well and silent. There are numerous reports about the issues you stated tho
@@infernus6278 the high fan rate I blame mostly on my company, its a company provided laptop with their anti virus/spyware crapware, and that causes the laptop to often run full tilt 60-80% of the time. The thing is, I've had other laptop fans run at full tilt, and their fan noise was not nearly as annoying/loud. my current thinkpad i use to edit video and play games, and the fan running at full speed is nearly silent compared to this thing. The keyboard? it just sucks. I cannot believe they put this keyboard on this expensive of a laptop. I just picked my wife up an x250 (yes an older laptop got a great deal on it), and they keyboard on it is AMAZING to type on. Seriously. the x280 can be had with similar specs, for less money and is a pleasure to work on.
Coming from a macbook and being the user of a Thinkpad tablet I can say that the keyboard of my Latitude 7390 unit is actually great and feels, no issues at all. So I can't really complain about the typing experience. Sadly you seem to have an issue with those in charge of the maintenance at work. Concerning the fans, in my experience the laptop is extremely silent under moderate use, dead silent under normal use since the fans are not even running most of the time, and a bit noisy under heavy load which is rare. So my experience matches the tests performed by notebook check. The only reason why your laptop would remain noisy is that Windows 10 is performing several updates in the background. Charging through the USB-C port: There are two USB-C port options for this model, one for DisplayPort and another for Thunderbolt 3. With Thunderblot 3 you can charge the laptop via USB-C
Yes, I agree, that the fan is quiet when not being used. But I've had plenty of other systems that when the fan is running at full tilt are still at a level that is acceptable, I can hear the fan on this laptop over music playing on headphones. It runs full tilt if the CPU is ever over 30%, which due to my companies' antivirus (not windows updates) is pretty much all the time its on. as far as the keyboard. I will agree to disagree. It feels cheaper than the keyboard of my $150 120s. I've gotten better about making sure the Shift is pressed fully, which seems to have fixed my issues, but it has slowed down a lot of my typing, but that will pick back up again soon enough. But it still is unpleasant to use.
> "It runs full tilt if the CPU is ever over 30%, which due to my companies' antivirus (not windows updates) is pretty much all the time its on" That's an important detail to take into account.
With the fan going, It's louder than my desktop with 7 case fans, and 3 graphics cards mining eth classic... I would understand with a gaming system, but on a business class laptop with a core i5? its embarrassing going into any meeting with a jet engine.
The problem is software not hardware. This ultrabook has a quadcore CPU not just any i5, so there is not enough room for thermals like you would have in a desktop. Granted Dell could have done a bit better job with fan noise as they did with the XPS (dual fan) If you are able to do so, you can just disable 2 cores from the BIOS and instantly get the equivalent of the Latitude 7380, dual core ultrabook, much less power consumption , temperature reduction hence much quieter fan noise, better battery life. And you still get plenty of performance for business applications since a quadcore CPU is overkill for that.
well this doesn't make me feel too good- just ordered an i7 model for $173 for personal use. My work thinkpad T14 is just loaded up with too much garbage to use.
Seems this laptop is for a different use case than your previous choices. The battery and screen size issue come down to this being an ultra-portable. Sounds like you needed a different model. Also, have you tried the Dell WD16 dock? www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-business-thunderbolt-dock-tb16-with-240w-adapter/apd/452-bcnu/pc-accessories
This laptop was provided by my company. I agree the screen is not what I personally would have picked. It does not excuse the absolutely terrible keyboard. It's unacceptably bad.

@@AICvideo Thanks for the quick reply, I am getting ready to order two new monitors as the ones we have laying around here at work are 10 plus years old, and its time to step it up.
