One really important tip you missed out on is that his clones do NOT respawn if you keep one or two alive. As long as a clone is on the battlefield, Rang will not resurrect them!
Yes but by the time you have picked them off (apart from 1 or 2) it will be time to fatal strike him which makes him summon them all back.
@@Tyrannicon That's true, but I honestly cheesed him by not fatal striking and just stun-locked by spamming light attacks. I got lucky as I summoned Zhao Jun who kept distracting the 1 clone and me and Cao focused Rang hard

Have to say after multiple attempts and even have him clone for a third group I kept 1 alive and managed to kill him 🎉
This is a tactic many bosses in other games has, thats why I beat him in my first try besarse i kept 1 clone alive

Thanks so much, I was struggling with trying to keep alive long enough but i followed these steps, with using the vitality spell before killing the clones and a faster weapon. I beat it first try this afternoon without using a single healing pot. Great vid

Holy crap that work perfectly thank you, I never thought to use absorb vitality in this fight. I’ve used your walkthrough for different bosses from all three dark souls, to elden ring, Skeiro shadows die twice an to other video games. This boss requires
1. Summons.
2. Killing most of the clones.
3. Not fatal striking him because yolo ham him.
He is a terrible boss if you don't completely abuse every mechanic in the game. This isn't elden ring. Do not be afraid to summon recruits. Do not be afraid to fight dirty. Do not be afraid to cheese.
These bosses are not designed for "fair" fights.
“This game wants you to use the tools provided by the game to beat it”
You dont have to do any of that shit to beat the boss, definitely not “required”, literally just run in and whup his ass, god you game journalists want every game to have an easy mode switch. The game is not hard or unfair you’re just having trouble being filtered, i wish casuals would stop trying to bully souls devs into babying them, the game is not unfair it’s just not for your patience level. Timing and patience is literally most of what this game “requires” of you
@@S6Ryujin bro, as someone who had invaded for like 4 hours, the SHEER amount of auto parrying infinite health etc cheaters is insane. Sure if you download cheat engine and don't need to actually LEARN the mechanics that literally 1 shot you if you make a single mistake, then you can kill the bosses.
Unless you are an earth or wood build rocking heavy armor, the bosses 1 tap you.
You are either confidently over leveled or playing a full heavy armor build.
Yes you can spam circle on every boss and win via crits. But people asking for help online, CLEARLY aren't doing that.
The bosses are NOT designed for "fair" fights. They are badly designed cheese feasts. They have the elden ring pauses before each hit.
Also parry attacks are different from basic attacks, resulting in some TERRIBLE weapon animations. I swear the amount of times I can see a red attack coming for almost 2 seconds and cannot parry because I just pushed parry plus light attack and got a 2 second spinning animation is absurd.
Certain weapons punish you for parrying. Make it harder and have long long parry counters. Its like they balanced this game around pvp. Which is only played by 3 man stacks and hackers.

Those clones are only gimmick. Kill 5-6 of clones. That way is going to trigger the ori use red burst attack. Deflect it to destroy his spirit.
I actually beat him on my first attempt I shocked myself. My personal advice is to follow this videos steps. It 100% works. Practice your deflecting skills because that’s the true key to this game u master deflect u gonna be OP. Also if u stuck on boss fights play with friends or create a lobby. Lots of people are playing this game so you will find a match. Most bosses you really needs some extra back up. You guys got this don’t give up this game is worth playing it thru.

I had a little trouble with this boss. I travel back to camp and upgraded all my weapons and armor with the stuff I gathered throughout this stage. I also added lighting resistance to everything. Came back and melted the boss after doing that.

This is the dumbest boss fight I’ve ever fought in a game ever. Horrible. Not fun and not rewarding. This is the ultimate masochist game encounter.
i thought for sure this would end my playthrough, but all i needed was level 4 weapons , got him first try once i upgraded my swords

Not very easy when at any moment he summons his lightning attack which instantly kills you when it's you and him

I'm so sick of these useless summons and retrying a fight until the gods of the rng show mercy on my seemingly underlevelled (as in just playing the game and notfarming qi for hours) soul

A huge tip and i mean huge tip if you keep attacking him you won’t give him a chance to resummon his clones and you can critical him too

This guy caused me so much grief cause I was spec’s into earth magic, and anytime a spark of electricity touches me it takes away my stone weapon buff x.x

Keep 1-2 clones alive and you’ll know how many are left due to the blue flag looking things under his life bar. Kill them all and you’re starting the entire fight over again. Revive your partner if you have to and avoid his lightning with the 1-2 slow ass clones.
First try, that healing spell plus the clones is broken😂😂😂

What weapons are you using
Actually the best thing to do is to keep one copy alive. That way he will always have low posture and he will not summon more copies. Also when all copies are dead he does new moves that might suprise and kill you. So I think its best to keep 1 copy alive.
You can't keep just 1 copy alive for the whole fight.

What I did was keep 3 alive. Ya if you kill all the clones he does new moves and even summons the clones again, almost immediately at times
The dual swords with a good martial art like he uses in the video makes a huge difference. I was using a heavy spear at first and it was a nightmare trying to kill the clones quickly.
They have patched it. Good luck 😂.
The best method kill 5-6 clones. The ori start using red burst. Deflect it. That'd destroy his spirit massivelly or even stun him.

I’ve beaten a bunch of bosses in this game… just waiting to find one I actually ENJOY fighting. So far the tutorial boss was the best. Can someone tell me if they get better near the end?
You have to fight all the combination of bosses in one fight if it anything like nioh
They’re uneven. I liked the first three and the Madusa fight was fun. This fight though - man is it awful. Nioh had nothing this terrible.

None of it matters, all you need is the stuff I mentioned in the video (Absorb Vitality spell and a weapon with the Bamboo Sever martial art.)

What a freking lazy boss design
Got one shotted by lightning aoe on my first attempt, but adapted for a gank fight and breezed through on the second.
As others have said, keep one or two of the clones alive. Eventually you'll want to fatal strike so at minimum expect to clear the gank twice.
I kept chucking the poison bubble wizardry spell around and it seemed to slow down/life drain most of the clones.
Take a reinforcement in with you and the divine spirit that fully replenishes their health and yours and save it for when both allies are nearly down.
I had 3 dragon pots left when I finished him off.

Maybe its just me being salty, but this game just feels so cheap to me! I've been a Souls addict for as long as the genre existed and while i want to love this game i simply can't. So many bosses/encounters feel cheap as hell and pure bs. With Souls titles i felt accomplished coming out victorious against a tough boss, but not in this game. After getting a taste for the new enemies flavor of bullshit, once I've beat them i just feel disgusted. Like the devs overhead people talking about Souls games and decided to make a whole game based off what they heard. But having no idea the true beauty of Souls titles they gave us this mess of cheap bs, 15 boss enemies spamming AOE attacks, a random hit or miss deflect system and healing pots that seem to refuse to pop way too frequently. I've bashed my head into the wall that is Wo Long, long enough to get to this boss waiting for that big change where they just get it and things fall into place... but as of right now I've yet to finish a fight, boss or not and think "Holy shit that was AWESOME!" Like i feel damn near every Souls boss gave me.
