Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an action role-playing video game. At the beginning of the game, players can create and customize their own player avatar, and choose from one of five "phases". The game offers two options for closed range attacks. To succeed in combat, players are required to deflect attacks using their melee weapons, as this will create opportunities for them to counter an opponent's attacks. Each enemy has a "Morale rank", which indicates how challenging the combat encounter will be. More difficult enemies would drop more valuable loot. As the players perform close-ranged attacks, their spirit gauge will gradually fill. Eventually, players can unleash "spirit attacks", allowing them to use special combat moves or cast elemental spells. Players can also choose from one of five "Divine Beasts" including the Qilin, Baihu, Qinglong, Zhuque and Xuanwu. These beasts can assist players during combat, or provide passive perks to players through "Divine Beast Resonance".
Like Nioh, the game is largely linear. As players progress in the game, they will encounter Battle Flags scattered throughout the world. Players can use them to save their game, or use "Genuine Qi", the game's form of experience, to upgrade their characters and unlock new abilities. Unlike the Nioh series, Wo Long has a jump button, which further facilitates exploration and combat. The game also features a cooperative multiplayer mode, in which players can summon a friend to help out during combat.

I constantly get 1 shotted by this Boss, I died over 20 times and the closes I've gotten was his life bar halfway.
Your tips for timing are fantastic. I’ve had zero problem with deflecting anything until this guys lunging one…I would only get it like 1 in 5. Got it now with your trick!

After 3 - 4 hours of this A-hole I finally looked up a guide, few of which were helpful, then I found yours. Stand back and time the deflects! What a concept! "You mean the concept of the whole game that I was semi-ignoring?" Yeah that one.

The guides helped me. I took a bit of the noob route by summoning my highest ranking ally along with the lady. I went to the sonic looking thing that gives good drops right next to the flag. I was just utterly getting destroyed. Level 28. I went to level forty just mining to get my 25. Then I found out by the guide he was weak to lightning. Game changer. If you have the long lightning thingie, it takes his spirit down. I also let the other die. Because at the end I just needed him to do the easy shot. I did almost die. But I got him. It’s really hard to counter a lot of his moves because it’s confusing timing at times.
the companion in this game are the most usless two second damage sheilds ive ever seen they are literally useless in boss battles all they do is give you a minute or two where the boss isnt agroing you

Guan yu and Zhang fei together made Zhang bao easier than he already was lol. And zhao yun wasn't terrible, hong jing is awful though

Hopefully this strategy works cuz this boss is starting to tick me off lol 😂 and also this strategy and tips are definitely more informative and in depth and probably helpful than Tryannicon's or whatever the hell his name is
I actually beat this guy by doing the opposite. I stayed mostly close to him and chipped away at his health. I couldn't bait his criticals by being far away. He hardly did those at all, in fact. Deflecting all of his many attacks that all have different timings is a pain, so I didn't bother. Instead, I just used the guard button. You don't take any chip damage when you guard attacks (except criticals, of course). All you have to worry about is spirit damage because the boss hits you sooo many times in row. HOWEVER, if you are using a fast weapon like a sword, there is enough time between his attacks to land a single attack of your own (just ONE don't get greedy). That will keep your spirit gauge neutral, if not positive.
From there, I used the Poison Bubbles spell, because there are plenty of times he is sitting in one spot, so you can chip away at his life with that. If you are using the Absorb Vitality spell at the same time, you can get healed without being anywhere near him (its not just for melee attacks)! I would fight him up close, preferably avoiding his front side, then back up a bit to regroup and apply the previously mentioned spells. Other than criticals, the only thing you have to avoid is his ice attacks later on in the fight. But you'll figure out when those are coming and be able to avoid them. Finally, I used the Tiger Divine Beast when he was down to an eighth of his health bar to finish him off.

Thanks for the help 🙂 smashed it about 5th attempt after watching this. I did however find it useful to summon a second companion. I tried doing it without any as some guides suggest but I found he did more critical attacks (for me to defend) when I had companions compared to being solo
I beat this boss after learning how to sprint in this game😂 , truly has been a learning curve for me

I hate this boss but i used sky halberd and engulfing inferno, used inferno one time during the sweep attacks and twice during the ice tantrums, since it lowers his stamina by breaking parts and using the heavy deflect after sweep attacks too occasionally it helps too, one or two hits during the stun then critical blow

You’re overweight- the gear you’re wearing is too heavy- in your equipment menu below the special effects it should say Equipment weight anything over like 70 I think means you can only dodgeroll
after 15 frustrating tries i obtained an earth spell and destroyed this dude in 90 seconds
Apparently, he's weak against lightning attacks.
Lighting+poison is amazing took me 2 tries after dying 10 plus times
There's no easy solution here. You have to parry his charge attack..like 12 times lol. Parry his flop (that's easy). Parry the worst attack, he grabs and eats you. This is the worst. He may stay red 2,3 seconds. This fight sucked, took me hours. Go back and upgrade armor.

Even without companions and at morale 25 I can't do it. The boss just does that damn slap attack and follows me around the map everywhere until it eventually hits me and corners me. What the fuck
