I just received the Nano Pulsar(it has a volume control). It landed on my doorstep during rehearsal so I hastily threw it on my board. It sounds fantastic on my stereo rig. I've decided to go all old school EHX for modulation.
How is the Nano pulsar with overdrive & fuzz? I've been looking for a decent priced trem for awhile, but just from demo vids cuz i can't try any out, & I keep coming back to the Nano. It seems to sound warmer & more pulsating-like (hence the name I guess).
Great video! I agree with many that the TC Electronic and the Boss were the clear winners. I also thought most of them sounded pretty good, with the exception of the Carl Martin. I've never used that company's products, but I was surprised by the low quality of that pedal's sounds.
When you consider what these go for on the used market, it makes more sense. Honestly though, we aren't all teenagers saving allowance money for pedals, so yeah, these are budget pedals.
Considering the fact that boutique pedals go for $199 and above, I think it's alright to call these pedals cheap. Perhaps affordable would be a better term.

Followed by the Boss and Pipeline for sure, and maybe the Harley Benton and Trelicopter. The Ibanez sounds great in the video, never tried one myself. The EHX is the one closer to a real amp's tremolo in my opinion. Followed close by the Boss and TC.
I preferred the boss and pulsar. I have the trelicopter. It's fine but there are definitely volume inconsistencies as you change the parameters. Be interested to know if this is a general problem for all. Looks like the pipeline was the only one with a volume control.
Grant....the Ibanez has a volume control and it's accessible via a small phillips screwdriver on the left side of the casing. I have 2 and the volume adjustment works well.
Interesting I was told that Harley Benton was buying Joyo pedals and using the HB logo instead of Joyo’s logo for the European market ? Is that what you are referring to

They all sound EXACTLY the same to me in pretty much every test. the last one was the only one I could tell a difference but that's because the settings were changed
The Behringer tremolo is an exact Boss clone, according to some people it is the exact same because Behringer makes the internals of some BOSS, MXR and Ibanez pedals and than makes EXACT clones. And the Behringer is $29 on Reverb new. I own the Pulsar and I stumbled on this video cause I was looking for another pedal option. What I don't like about this pedal you can clearly hear in the last comparison at 08:27. Every other pedal has a nice breakup (full depth) but this is the only pedal that lacks it. My favorite tremolo is on my Vox AC30, it's simple and is really easy to dial in and I wanted to find something similar. Was considering the Boss but I'm realizing how different all these tremolos are, thanks for the video!

@@mymadeupdreams A lot of people assumed the max out on those pulsars was what most other effects are, but it is not.After 2 it becomes something else giving you the sound you hear in this video.
@@natemendsen1629 do you own the pedal or just making assumptions because that's absolutely not the case. I have the Pulsar, and I know the depth isnt' full, and this video just ended up confirming it.
@@mymadeupdreams Watch this whole thing .Andy knows as much as anyone about pedals.That shit about maxing out at 2:00 isnt just him but was in the ehx verbiage .Apparently some people did have a problem with a volume drop with it vs other trems but that I am much less certain of. In the last round, tr2 had the nicest sound. Not only the lows pulsating but a sixties vibe with highs pulsating too. Then Ibanez. Carl martin didn't seem that bad . For the other rounds I heard less difference. But indeed a behringer would have been nice to compare to also.
I’ve bought a trelicopter before and returned it. Worst pedal I ever bought. I like a few of these but I think the tc electronic would be my first choice of these.
cmon ... wheres the UT300 Behringer .. thats the one to beat at the prices and quality - basically same circuit as TR2 .... so cant compare apples and dragonfruits
Still BOSS, sound and durability, it screams Southern Rock. I was not too happy with the T.C. Electronic customer service....but I'd go for the Pulsar made in USA, buy USA.

I got the Joyo/Harley Benton, mainly because I wanted a yellow pedal in my board...that's it. For $30 it sounds pretty decent.

Boss nailed it with the TR-2 🤙 such a versatile tremolo pedal.

I think its amusing when people describe a 110 bucks pedal as "cheap". Behringer UT300 at 20 is what a "cheap" pedal is.

The Harley Benton is sold under the Joyo brand in North America. Pretty good value usually.

boss tr-2 has the infamous volume drop. have bought and sold it twice. there is always a point in time where becomes prohibitively frustrating.
Is it just me or does the Electro Harmonix Pulsar seem to maintain a crisp high end? It sounds good
It does preserve all the presence of the sound.

Is it me or did the joyo one have some serious clipping issues? The pipeline sounded best to me.
Most of those pedals sound great. I have owned the Mooer Trelicopter and I'm here to say it doesn't.
