SPOILERS!!! I would like to leave my diagnostics of each room here: Denial: Pain Area: Obviously this room was created right after the horrific event of Mari. Everything is disorganized and in chaos. The music is muffled away, deep inside it must sound pleasant but Sunny can't hear it. He's in shock. "So much pain" is all Sunny can think about, which is why most of the "NPCs" say it over and over. Mari has become somewhat unrecognizable, even monstrous. As for the crows, it is quoted if you look at their symbolism on Google, "Crows have commonly been a symbol of death, and the transformational process from the physical to the spiritual world". Twice you can encounter an Omori brutalized beyond recognition. Representing self hatred and even possibly worse, self mutilation. Flowers fuse viciously with NPCs, representing his deep inner regrets of abandoning his best friend Basil. Here is where he hermits himself from the world, only being distant in a window or picture. Disco Area: A miracle from a dream. Here is where the first pieces of Omori's world come into play. The music is trying it's best to form a melody, the images are trying their best to form new homes, but everything is "too small". Desperation coats everything in this room. NPC words dissolved into hums, or rather EEEEEEEEEs. The cat gives false advice to cover harsh realities to honestly existential questions, which may give some light to Omori being suicidal as well as self harm tactics. The cloud is the first successful NPC, desperately despite it going nowhere, Omori tries to follow it. Follow the dream. He is faraway from home. Scribble Area: The world, the NPCs, even the music, is in lack of color. Despite how much Omori tries to form a world, his sorrow drenches it and makes it unbearable to look at. Although each NPC has the ability to speak their mind now, each thing they say leads to puzzling traumatic confusion. Maybe it was also a way of Omori trying to distance himself with awful reality, making it poetic and metaphoric. Town Area: Deer are a symbolization of unconditional love and awareness of surroundings. In a way, Omori, or Sunny rather regrets living in this shell. His real world perception is upside down, which is why the trees flip over. In order to comfort himself from this dreadful ideology, he tries to make the town look bleak and unrecognizable. But the familiarity seeps through, filling him with more regret. All but one door remains silent, as if Sunny now thinks the whole world would reject him because he became so alien now. Even going outside would haunt him with the presence of his now dead sister. As for the only house you can enter, it is sadly his own. The only place he grew familiar with is his home. Mari taints it with her absence and haunting reality. The graveyard could be Sunny burying his feelings of love and regret for those he knows outside. Only a monument is left to prove that they lived at all. Backyard Area: Oh boy this one. Here is where Omori decided his guilt was pushing him away from distancing from the truth. So he poured a majority of those feelings here. The music sounds like someone falling down the stairs, the hands symbolizing the awful truth of what he did, Mari slowly becoming more and more unrecognizable, desperately telling Sunny she still loves him. Liar repeating over and over can go both ways, how he thought Mari would never forgive him for what he done, or how he thinks he perceives the situation. He gave up near the end, which is why the world falls apart at the far right. His guilt was too strong and immense. More suicidal hints as he jumps down into an area filled with horrific imagery. He misses Mari. He loved Mari. And no matter how hard he tries, he can't bury that. Brain fog is very apparent here. Memories are scrambled and in distant disarray. The music is growing intense as if building a sense of panic attack. He uses a ladder to reach an area of peace, his memories are now even more distant and unrecognizable than ever. In a way, Omori found acceptance, although brief and brutal. An acceptance that she will never come back. The NPC following him could represent his mother, becoming distant as well. Anger: Punishment Area: THEORY TIME! Sunny killed his pet cat, Mewo. If you noticed, Mewo is not present at all, despite being in the photo album. Someone had to feel his pain. Someone needed to know what it was like. If the self harm indications are true, it could have lead him to that sick idea. After all, it's just a cat. It's not human. 56-12-2 (the name of the music) is a Gamma Aminobutyric Acid Neuron that releases calming effects on the brain to prevent panic attacks or seizures. A lot of serial killers when interviewed said that killing people was a way to relieve stress and burning guilt. The feeling of killing is mainly pinpointed to their stomachs, which is possibly why Mewo's stomach was also cut. And although it relieved some stress off of Sunny's shoulders, it also filled him with even more anger towards himself. The only option to avoid doing that entirely is suicide. The only option to leave after doing the deed is suicide. Obviously, Sunny is now in the deep end. Edit: Back at it again... Watermelon Area: Suspenseful music, grim vibrant colors. Sunny still feels anger deep in his stomach. How can the world move on after Mari's demise? How can he still live with himself as a person? He doesn't deserve fun. He doesn't deserve happiness. All his memories, meaningless, fading, and tainted black in grim reality. He knows he can never have that back. His anger grows like a watermelon in his stomach. Basil seeing him only leads to dark corrupted memories everywhere. His desperation to keep everything inside is leading him to a bursting point. In rage, he lashes his anger out at Basil, but since he is facing the watermelon, this means he didn't mean to. Now broken and empty, the music stops, knowing that no matter what, this pain will follow him, hurting more and more people which leads to solving nothing. So he has to keep it inside. Bottle it up. But then the anger makes it bubble up again. And thus the loophole continues. Beach Area: "I need to relax. The beach. A perfect place... But I still see them. The memories. The memories I didn't deserve. The memories they did not deserve. Desolate wastelands of nothing but pit stops and distractions from reality. Basil is right, I'm desperate. I want to cling on. I want to hold on to something. The something that means nothing now. Things were better when she was here... and no matter how much I run, no matter how far I swim, that will not change. And this is my fault. My consequence, my future. Basil is wrong about one thing. There is no hope for me... So don't talk to me. I just want to relax. I just want to relax. I just want to relax. I just want to relax. I just want to relax. I just want to relax. I just want to relax. I just want to relax. I JUST WANT TO RELAX!" Spider Area: It's everywhere, and it's spreading fast. No more can this guilt be contained. It is crawling on the floors, the ceiling, the walls, even on the people that you love. Sunny still loves Basil. He wants to help him. But how can he when everything he does makes the contamination worse. Despite Basil's positivity, he is still in immense pain. And only Sunny and M A R I can see it. See that Basil is dying. Passing away from too much sadness. Slowly boiling over and rotting away. At this point, bargaining blends in. The worlds are starting to get better construction now. There are paths, things to look at. Living creatures. Sunny is starting to realize his world is in budding point. Maybe being away from Basil isn't such a bad idea anymore. Maybe, the world doesn't need him. Maybe the world doesn't need Sunny. Bargaining: Rain Area: Sunny tries again to make a world. A place to escape rather than feelings of venting and frustration. And progress is definitely showing. The world is vibrant and beautiful. Paths, pastel colors and items of calming dopamine that has more meaning than before. But it is only one. It is still too small. And how can you give this progression? Letting go of your past isn't the only thing that will solve this dilemma. He needs to find a faster way to growing. This can't be it. Maybe letting go isn't the best idea. Basil echoes through his head. But how can he see him? He now is so deep in his mind that he is now lost. And the path to get back to him is now gone. In his last hour, he turns to his now small memory of M A R I. Itching for an answer. "Expand your mind, OMORI." Faceless Area: Simple, bigger, better. Simple, bigger, better. At this point, clinging to this desperate dream has led Omori to forget everyone. Their faces are gone. They are stuck in time. Wandering aimlessly and pointlessly in his head. So they must have a purpose here. So he must draw on these clean slates. Find the things working and broken. Iron out a world where everything is perfect. But are you sure you want this? Are you sure there is nothing left for you? Are you sure you would even want to go back? At this point, Omori is now confused, conflicted in so many ways. Everything circles around him. Treehouse Area: It's all coming together. The pieces, the ideas, the dreams are now in view high in the sky... yet so far away. The memories are finally starting to fade. But do you want this? Omori has drained the color and fun of the world. Things are now reduced to trivial matter and simple time wasting. The distant dream is all that there is left to look forward to. But do you want this? Basil is still there. Waiting for you. Will you really abandon him for this non-existing world. And after being reminded once more. Of the pain that Basil desperately tries to tell you, you decide... Yes... because there is nothing else left.
Have to put the rest of it in the reply box: Depression: Fishbowl Area: There is nothing else left. No color, no joy, no hope. How can you possibly continue? She is distant, far from you. Basil is distant, far from you. That dream is distant, far from you. Everything is distant, far from you. All because you abandoned them. Got lost in the woods like a silly child. Growing reckless and feral. Tainting the world with your hideous and repulsive image. An image that you can't even bear to look at. An image that is so alien. You deserve nothing. Therefore, you shall live in nothing. Nothing but the awful truth.
I think you nailed it so far. Really amazing insights. Continuing along with the stages of grief though, the next step would be depression. Its hard to say if that has a place here considering omori seems to be evading it like a champ by creating these worlds, but most of the remaining worlds curiously do feature a lot of underwater segments. maybe this references that depression is like the bottom of an ocean, or an abyss, for sunny? in competition with the blinding light of the truth? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the remaining portion
1:09:50 at the end of the bed area, after picking up the key, you can barely notice shadow basil in the bed on the top left, i think you lost it by accident. does anyone know if you can interact with it / what happens?
@@nothingtoseehereiswear1011 "For so long, you kept the truth shut out." "But something made it slip." "And the hole that was made... It won't stop spreading until you find the root of it all." "The one that has seen the truth... Will you guide me to him, SUNNY?" By the way, you were 3 months late.

Bargaining:
Rain Area: Sunny tries again to make a world. "Expand your mind, OMORI."
Faceless Area: Simple, bigger, better.
Yes... because there is nothing else left.
this is very well written
love this write up
Have to put the rest of it in the reply box:
Depression:
Fishbowl Area: There is nothing else left.

He has dialogue.
So, he missed that.

@@Jc-lu8qc it could be! I just don’t think it is because Sunny’s mother has curly red hair I believe, my only thoughts are it’s mari but I could be wrong…

i can NOT handle teeth gore. i can handle MOUTH gore, but not TEETH gore, especially when it’s described to me. the more detail, the worse. that’s why MARI’s HOME scared me even more than some place like the RED MAZE.
The music in the raft area gives me life
I love it sm
thank you so much for uploading!!
there’s a secret entrance to black space 2 in the raft area. by going southeast at the whethervane area you can find an invisible walkway to the door that leads you to the repeating door and the hideous creature room
the song in the confrontation room with basil reminds me a lot of lisa for some reason

someone tell me the meaning of EVERY single room and what they represent please
like seriously what the hell is the loquacious cat room supposed to mean
I spent a good 30 minutes in punishment area trying to figure out how to leave without killing the cat, finally figured out that I could get the key from the butler and then stab myself to leave. Fun
The *RED SPACE* ‘music’ reminds me of the end of the Genocide Run in Undertale/ *UNDERTALE*
