- Watch this Rusty Small Electric Hot Plate from 1950. In this restoration project you will see Laser Cleaning rust and a few different restoration techniques. Enjoy !
I try to do my best every time and make this restoration videos more pleasant for you.
After I saw this hot plate on Etsy app, I knew it would come out a very nice restoration video and I bought it. This portable hot plate was made around 1950 and to restore it was in good condition. In my opinion it was made in URSS.
For this restoration project I put all my passion and dedication to come out the best of this video but every time I work much better from previous.
To removing rust I use the Laser Cleaning techniques and I think in conclusion this electric hot plate restoration it's a good video.
This restoration took me 4 days to restore from A to Z and the cost of this portable hot plate was 35 $.

@@CoolAgainRestoration how much is that laser cleaner?
Sulphur from the onion creates an anti oxidisation coating basically... If anyone was wondering. Awesome job!!! Lazer cleaning way better then sand blasting no pitting especially for cast iron! Awesome job!!! I love your videos!!!
Thank you Kal Val 😇
Thanks for the explanation, that part made me feel like I was watching the How To channel lol
Thank you i was wondering too. I watched before a video about Damascus steel and they add some dried red hot pepper. I think it's for the same reason
I was like, of course, he's seasoning the plate. Thanks!
@@mrmrmr5495 yeah to make the taste sharp 😂
I bet the guy who built that in 1950 never imagined it was going to be cleaned with a laser one day.
🤣🤣this comment is is so cool
Or viewed in HD video on a smartphone while waiting at the DMV
😂😂😂
Of course not, because laser itself has been invented in 1960....
@@CoolKoon And it took only another 4 years before it appeared in a movie (Goldfinger). 😎👍
I miss the days of things being designed with the intent of being fixed opposed to just being thrown out.
Very true 👍🏻
Yeah nothing made today would last 70 years and still works.....
With the intent of being fixed.....that exposed kanthal wire alone just screams electric hazard (plus it's grossly inefficient too due to the wire hanging in the air, which is a good heat insulator). And besides, in every single hot plate in the world the whole thing stands and falls on the heating element. Once it goes out it's done. While it's theoretically possible to replace it in this model, it probably wouldn't really be worth the hassle anyway.
Gameboys
That's the coolest thing I've ever seen. Didn't even know they had something like that.
Gene Fossee stay here for new videos :)) tkx for appreciation 👍🏻🤗
Me too, and l worked on lasers in the mid 70s.
Am I the only 1 impressed with the visuals? Yes... the laser work is awesome... we all get that. But the cam used for footage... wow!
Thanks donnie 👍🏻
Uwielbiam znajdować nazwy pokazujące z jakiego kraju jest osoba odnawiająca rzeczy ^^ Powiem szczerze na początku wydawało mi się jakby laser zostawił to czego nie zdołał usunąć.
Very cool . i like laser clean. Good machine.
Tkx Mr NVC !👍🏻
Hello. How much does the laser machine cost?
MR. NVC DIY this one is 70.000€
@@CoolAgainRestoration wow...very expensive...good tool for restoration.
@@CoolAgainRestoration this might sound dumb but that is 70,000 not 70. Right?
Awesome visual you captured with the laser. You can see the actual flames, but it's like it's on a screen because it only exists within the beam.
The laser is ❤️
Laser, laser, laser. I'm like... camera, camera, camera! Not many UA-cam vids shot wit that type of definition. Nice!
Ended up looking like a Pokémon plate. Gotta cook 'em all!
Everyone talks about the laser. I'm all about the onion
😂
Yea! Whats up with that?
Same
From another comment
The sulpher from the onion creates a barrier from oxidation (rusting)
Im talking about what this plate use for.?
Take care with asbestos disposal.
I made the test and everythings go well 🙏🏻
i thought the same
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I was just thinking... _if that thing is from the 50s, I guarantee that insulator was asbestos._
@@karlsangree4679 seems like we all had the same thought.
I've been binging these videos and I will state up front, it is the sound quality that I truly enjoy the most. Obviously the restoration work is phenomenal. But, with no talking and only the sounds the individual components make as they are disassembled, modified & reassembled is what makes this so intoxicating to watch.... more fun than rain forest audio for sure! LOL!
Oh man I could watch you laser clean all day and you took that 1950 hot plate and turned into something futuristic looking, great job!
Thank you from the heart🤗
One thing I LOVE about your channel is that there is no music. You let us hear you work. Thank You. Another thing I like is your humor! I also like how you describe things you are doing. From what I saw online, that Clean Laser 500 Costs around $275,000 !!!!!! You NEED 55 Million Subscribers just to afford to buy one of those !!! I wonder how many sand-blasters you could buy for that?
Laser cleaner I ve never seen. Fantastic investment. I am keen on your next use of that.
I assure you that my next videos will be more awesome 🙏🏻
Laser cleaning save a lot time and not make a mess. Good work!
It’s true! Saved a lot of time and it’s eco friendly! Tkx for feedback🙏🏻
Whoa! Laser cleaner... Latest technology... Great job 👍
Thank you Turan 🙏🏻
That laser cleaner device working is satisfying to watch.
the laser makes me truely happy
the laser hitting the rust was the most satisfying thing ever and the noise it's making is the most soothing electric hum ever
😎👍🏻
I think that pad is asbestos. Awsome job on the hot plate.
Thank you very much Marty 👍🏻🍻
i love laser cleaning videos 😀
That laser cleaner is sick man
Thanks man
Omg...this is something from Star Trek!!! Amazing!! This machine can't be cheap!!😁
Definitely don’t ! :)))
Laser cleaner for the Win! Nice job.
Thanks Thomas
I was unaware of use of a laser cleaner for rust removal. Your this restoration video gave me knowledge about laser cleaner, thank you. Please keep up such good work.
Thanks buddy 👍🏻
Wow the laser is amazing
30 years when he restores that laser lol
see if the laser cleaner manufacturer will provide a bit of sponsorship. It is awesome.
An electrical note. You do want to shorten the lead wires so there is none exposed between the smaller ceramic insulators. When opening and closing the unit it was clear that a short to the metal around the hole would have been easy. The same for the coiled element wire, it should not be resting on the insulating sheet, it should be suspended by the ceramic pipe segments. You could see if distributing the ceramics could help with that a bit.

Waooo, nunca había esta técnica de quitar el óxido con un láser, felicitaciones amigo, vengo de un poco de todo y debo decir que tu video es supremamente bueno
👍🏻gracias
Great job!!! Better and better 👏👏👏
Thank you Mariana 😘
That laser cleaner is just mesmerising !
That laser rust removal is just awesome to watch thank you!
Laser rust removal is a cool technique, but for me, as a viewer of these restoration videos, it'll never replace the enjoyment of sand/grit blasting. I find that a lot more satisfying.
I’m agree with you. And is more cheap. My latest videos are with sandblasting method. Enjoy and thank you for your support 👍🏻🍀
That laser is right out of science fiction.
😎
Laser saves a lot of sanding doesn't it? Great job! 👍😁
Yes. Thanks Donald 👍🏻😎
Masterpiece not only enjoyable but informative
Has a $50,000 laser machine and still rocking the rattlecan method. Good for you!
Well done!👍🏻
Tkx bro! 👍🏻
I've never seen that Laser rust removal before. Thats the coolest thing ever.
the only thing not cool about it is the cost :(
In just a few seconds laser beaten the rust awesome 😍😍😍👍👍👍

I had never seen laser rust removal. Very cool, and so much more efficient than other methods.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I wish they made a super-portable model of that laser that I could use on my boat! Fantastic!
I think you find at P-laser company, portable laser gun
The unit refurbished, has a nice Art Deco feel. Perfect colour choices.🇨🇦🤓
Thanks 👍🏻
the "clean laser" was a cool machine ;-)
Just finished watching all of your videos. Looking forward for more. Laser cleaning especially!
Thank you for all Anisa 👍🏻🤗🍀
You have the perfect camping buddy now! It looks amazing btw ❤️
Beautiful in its simplicity. I would like one made of stainless steel.
Thanks Ross 👍🏻🍀
Glad UA-cam recommended your channel.
Glad youtube recommended my videos and glad to have you on board🥳🤗
70 year old electronics? The end result seems like an absolutely beautiful way to set fire to the room.
Why. Worked for years. No Parts made with buildin working timeout. Perhaps if you use it now in Germany the 240V could be a Problem.
@@spenglerheinzgeorg9538 I’m not an electrician. Between the common usage of toxic parts and older wiring taking shortcuts for transferring signals and using flammable cotton as insulation ... well. I don’t trust old electronics and I don’t trust SUPER inexpensive electronics.
I wouldn’t use a toaster or hot plate from the 50s any sooner than I’d use a $3.00 cell phone charging cable today.
The restoration process and end results are beautiful though.
Thanks zero 👍🏻
A very clever person.
Waaaaw , your job is beyond perfectionist 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 , for painting try to use dark matt ( green , and gray ) in your next video
Thank you very much Nibal 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍻🍻
Clean, fast.. and can make big money!!

Thank you Avinash 👍🏻🤗
These lasers are fantastic. I can't wait for them to become affordable.
Yes,that’s the problem with they. Mine is broken and also the spare parts are expensive🤦🏼♂️
Cool Again Restoration I had this exact conversation with a jeweller friend of mine today. He compared it to a specific kiln they use in that industry that was innovative 5-6 years ago and was quite exxy, like 40k exxy. Now, one can purchase one for about 5k. So, for those who can wait...
Right
01:29 This is a beautiful machine that I haven't seen anyone use in restoration videos before😍 . it looks expensive 😅
