This is true and I agree with it. I recently realized that I enjoy holding my iPhone outside of my case. It feels good. So at least once or more times a week I take it and use it out of the case.
I do a compromise and keep it in a clear case. They're relatively inexpensive but protect against dings and scratches and I get to enjoy the beautiful color of my phone . Downside is they're not as protective as rugged cases but I have Apple Care + for that. Most also yellow over time so I end up trashing them. No one really wants a used case no matter the color so no big deal.
I didn’t use a case or screen protector since IPhone X, will use my 16 PM caseless and no protector, I like the original feel of the phone, I think most people use case because they don’t want to break their phone from accidental drops but for better grip

I like this, it’s for people who don’t drop their phone a lot but want a back protection when putting their phones on surfaces.
It always feel awkward when I hold my iPhone without a case…I think I get a better grip WITH a case.

We do it because they are so slippery, which renders them unusable without a case! Last phone with spectacular build quality was Nexus 5!
