If I would have had to get in that cabinet Sandy that would have driven me crazy! So small! I may have had to get Logan fix it in there! Turned of ok though!
When you pulled that set screw out my heart stopped - that so would have gone down the drain in my house. Have to close the drain when working with small things or have confidence you can retrieve small items out of the P trap. :-)
I have a similar set, but it’s not Grone and there’s no base. The handle bases can be easily moved, and the cold tap is turned back to the wall. I tried undoing the water hose to re-screw them more forward, but there’s just no room. I ‘m at a loss. My kingdom for a base screw or anything to caulk in to place. Suggestions?
@@ThatFixItGuyI have the same problem, but it’s a brand I can’t recall with no screws on the top hardware. Even the base is loose and just sitting on the surface.
Great video - thanks. I've got the EXACT faucet shown in the video. But I can't get the handle off the splined valve stem. This is not a set screw problem - set screw is actually missing entirely. It looks like the handle has corroded onto the valve stem. I have tried several creative solutions for applying upward force on the handle, but it doesn't budge. Any ideas how to handle this?
Do you have a video on tightening underneath for Grohe? My granite is 3/4" and they put down a 3/4" plywood underlayment. Extension under counter is simply not long enough. Thank you.
Oh man. I don’t have a video on that, but I have been where you are. I would just cut out a big enough piece of the plywood so you can mount the faucet on the granite.
Helping a friend with a loose Grohe Essence Widespread Faucet handle. Can't figure out how to get the handle off. Any tips for removing it and would the same steps you applied in your video apply? Thx!
I don't think there is set screws on the Essence widespread, is there? You may just have to unscrew the escutcheon under the handle counter clockwise to remove.
I have a Hansgrohe bathroom faucet which doesn't look anything like that. The cold water handle is broken for the second time. The handle comes off and doesn't turn the water on at all. I have a replacement because Hansgrohe sent me two of each handle when it broke the first time. As far as I can see everything must be done from below, which is pretty inaccessible. I'm searching for an instruction video but I don't find one.
When you say let’s get to fixin or just in general you should hold your smile longer and edit out the part where you change your facial expression and start moving on to something else. It’s very funny to watch but probably not what your going for as far as video quality.
It's great that it is a quick fix cause it would have driven me bonkers!! Lol

Thanks for the clear, easy to understand lesson. This will help me to figure it out.
Outstanding video! Clapping from Norfolk, VA!🤗

i have a different grohe, but i unscrewed the collar and reset the handle and it's great. thanks
Don't forget to tell the listening audience to close the drain in the rare occurrence that something might fall into the sink.
Thanks Brian that was very informative 👍

Looks good Brain , another successful repair with just one death , LOL ;-)
LOL! I know! Stoney Ridge told me along time ago I needed to shop in twos!
Excellent video! Not sure if ours is a Grohe or not, its only 5 years old and the Hot Handle hits the wall, gonna change that now if I can!
Hopefully this helped you out. Please let me know if I can help.

@@genghis_conniehello were you able to fix it?
Probably a good idea to close the sink drain first, in case any little parts drop.
You are so right! Thank you for checking this out and commenting.
@maryking you were reading my mind 🤣

This might be an inexperienced question, but do I have to turn the water off under the sink?
****Thank you***
Your welcome. Thanks for watching.
I just tried to reinstall stem, now water goes on when it should be shutting off. Not sure what brand.
Can you flip the stem? Send me a pic on facebook.

That is great feedback. Thank you for this insight. My wife just agreed with you and I will work on it. Thanks again.
it is not really moving wrong way it is just loose. video is not labeled correctly.
Could being loose have made it move the wrong way?
