Nice play Magsey! Not too shabby.
That was magnuficent play magnus. Beautiful.
Magnus is undoubtedly the best chess player in the world.
No. XDC is
The best ever.

Poker is 80% luck so it’s hardest to master. Other than maybe slots & roulette which are 100% luck.

Magnus was bored to be a chess champion so now decided to be a poker champion. I don't have a doubt that he will be!
Great hand. Basically like everything you did there! (Im a professional 25 cent/50 cent online player) Im also rated about 1700-1800 in rapid... Not trying to flex or anything... Some people might like to double barrell, but I think ur check on the turn gives him a chance to bluff if he has nothing or a draw, and it disguises your hand well. The only thing I might do a bit different is bet anywhere from 30k-60k on the River. The line u took makes your hand is weaker than it actually is. Many people who bluff will Continue bet the flop but give up on the turn. I think max value would have been 30k-60k. But who am I to judge, u won the pot + got paid for the 18k. My goal is life is to play u head up in chess + Poker at least once!
Can someone explain the 4% beside Bilstad's name before the river? Both of Queens are already out, someone has AQ and Q9. Tia
"One of the best chess players in the world" Brother he is the best chess player who EVER lived. No question
What's wrong with being careful and conservative about a praise. If he said "he's the best" everyone would go crazy in the comments comparing him to Fischer or Morphy or Kasparov saying he's not the best.
@@tdb517 haha yeah I know why he said that, so I wasn’t being too serious with my comment. I agree with you
Except in blitz and bullet.
@@vickmackey24 the man held all three titles simultaneously and has held #1 in all 3 multiple times. It’s arguable that he’s the best at those too. There’s a lot more variance on those formats, so nobody really claims it.
Oh you said bullet not rapid. Eh bullet is fun but not real chess, but I pick naka for that for sure
Greatest chess player in the world 🌎
Magnus e foda cdemais, agora embarcando no poker..
The river is bet is so awesome and juicy for the opponent to call with queens is remarkable. The opponent never knew whether he is ahead or behind Carlson's hand in every streak. Awesome play. That's how u should play the cowboys 👍
I agree. Just a little correction: He didn't have Cowboys (KK). He had big slick(AK). 😊
The river call was just terrible knowing Magnus' playstyle. His 4-betting range is basically JJ+ and AK, so the opponent ties with the one remaining QQ and loses to all the other remaining hand combos. Magnus played the hand well, but his opponent's river call was just terrible. If it was someone like Phil Ivey or Tom Dwan in Magnus' position, the river call might have been close, because these players have bluffs in their range (at all times), but against a conservative player like Magnus the river call is just a donation of chips.
@@mklein6265 i wasnt appreciating the opponents call i was appreciating magnus bet
@@CanariasCanariass Yes I was wrong to say it cowboys instead of big slick
to be honest, if i don't follow chess at all and have no clue about anything related to the chess world, i would think this Magnus dude is just a semi-rich dude with european accent, bad haircut and probably owns a property in Florida. LMAO this is pretty surreal and funny. good for him tho for enjoying life & his hobbies.
i dont follow poker at all, are all seated guys multimillionaires outside of poker?
@@Aeradill tbh I'm not a poker world expert myself but nah, i don't think that's a thing. this event is a pretty big deal tho held in cali and joined by several known content creators, I'm assuming at least half of these people got big banks lol
Magnus brought Ak vs the queen
You would have to put someone on exactly QQ to make that turn check setting up a bet call on river

It has to be in the back of Bilstad's mind that the guy was the former world's chess champion!
Still WCC until Ding or Nepo win
@@victorn6997 He resigned the title. If he was still champion then Ding and Nepo wouldn't be playing for it. The title is officially vacant.
No, that makes no sense. Until we get a new champion, Magnus is the champ. He never resigned the title, you made that up. All he did was decide he wasn't going to defend the title. Meaning he still holds it, until someone else wins it.
@@bgdgdgdf4488 Magnus sent a notarized letter to Fide rescinding the title. That's what Fide was waiting for so Fide could go ahead with the match to crown a new champion. Wherever your getting your information from is incorrect.

Great move by Carlsen! While Nepo and Ding are stuck freezing on the chessboard - Carlsen is becoming a hot boy in the world of poker!
Nice hand Mags my boy :) What was the thoughts on the $7000 raise on the flop?
Magnus is not just THE best chess player in the world, he’s the best in classical, rapid, and blitz
Hold your horses there, tiger. Hikaru is ranked higher in blitz at the moment. 2885 vs 2852.
Wow what a turn of events, a nearly equal hand goes to 1 player for drawing a single card he needed. Crazy exciting stuff.
