Romans 10:9-11 KJV 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
I love y’all so much. I was absolutely devastated to hear your atlanta concert was sold out. I’ve been with y’all since still feel came out. I remember seeing the video hit 2.5k views then 25 million. Love y’all so much!! I hope y’all have a great tour! I’ll be there in spirit.
SUPER LATE TO THIS! But goodness!!! I really enjoyed your album review. I'm more of a lyric analyst than an instrumental analyst (I don't know much in this department except for what I do and do not like lol), so hearing your input was really insightful. I was also in quite a similar place when I first listened to the album when it released. Having gone through a very similar experience like Josh with reinventing myself after a breakup hit so close to home. Like it all happened during the summer too and metaphors about seasons are my favorite. So the combination of this and everything literally being so fresh was quite coincidental. Their songs always just seem to find me at the write time and place. Inspecting where I stand on a religious point of view also made me tear up a bit upon hearing your personal takes since I found past memories and feelings resurfacing. Leaving something that was so indoctrinated on you from an early age is not for the weak. I've listened to Half Alive ever since they released The Fall, and I literally didn't even know they were a Christian band till the release of their latest album. It was kind of mind blowing. Like, the references and allusions were definitely there in some songs, but I guess I was in denial and just tried to separate myself from all of that by interpreting their songs to fit my own vibes. Like you said, not because songs about God are wrong or anything like that, but sometimes we just need to hear what we want to hear. Some songs in the album were definitely not at top tier ranked as others, but overall the band did not disappoint. Especially given that they branched off more into pop while still maintaining some indie aspects, and still succeeded with giving us some timeless bops. My favorite song is Did I Make You Up? because it makes me ugly sob. Or at least it did last year when I was not in the best state of mind. I found it funny how you said that you were ready to cry, but the song just kinda teased you there. Big contrasts to our reactions, though I guess I just tend to project A LOT with the media I consume. I think I'm rambling now (oops), but you really did such a great job at inspecting the album, the meanings of songs, and tying everything together through the lyrics. I definitely did not stay up at an unhealthy hour to watch the entirety of the video (yes I did). I'll end my thoughts by saying that I saw Half Alive on October 2023 in Houston and it was literally life changing. My first concert I've ever gone to, and I still constantly find myself replying how it all went down. A recommendation for another album would be You're My Lover Now by The Teeth. Though they're more on the rock side than anything if you're into that!
i found this song righy after my attempt anf honestly it made me feel so good, i listen to it when im having a tough time and it always brings my spirits back up

The way I have connected with the music from this band over the last year is something I've never experienced in my 25+ years of being a musician
