@@BUILTOFFICIAL you keep posting, we will keep watching! Also... when you do giveaways don't do it for free, do it as a raffle. $10 for a car entry 5000 tickets. Do it through someone reputable too, at least it'll gain you some cash back aswell as giving away some sick rides!
Look forward to what 2023 brings, you do have a very niche channel, not anyone I've found building cars the way you do, custom body works while learning I just think the biggest drawback you've got is as you say, the viewers. 315k subs amd 16k views a week? Some pretty unfaithful subscribers I think.
Good luck and big up and congratulations on the birth of baby number 3 :) x

Crazy to go back and look at where I started watching and see it's been 5 years at this point. Watching you widebody the MR2 and the Audi while I was just trying to get a VW beetle to run was really inspiring. Your channel is part of the reason I'm going back to school now for Auto body and why my nova is 8 inches wider and scrapes speed bumps. glad to see you back at it and hoping it lasts!

Dude. First video of yours I've seen... 1. you got a car that was DOA and fully restored it, while holding down 3 kids, filming, editing and posting videos, selling and buying a house. You got a less then optimal ROI and still you keep a positive outlook on everything that happened. You inspire me!!!

It just fills me with pure joy when I see people on the platform take these tired and sad old cars, completely restore them and just give them a new life again.
Its even cooler when creators actually show the whole process throughout the video or a vlog series. this stang turned out great!

Madness, you took a pile of sh*t destined for scrap and put it back on the road. Is it 100% perfect, no. That's not the point though...
You took a literal piece of sh*t and polished it all by yourself, from the ground up. Everything you've learned to that point has taught you how to better the next. That's magic dude.
This all while having a baby, family time, filming, ordering, tinkering, welding, fixing, learning, removing paint shops and moving house.
    Take some damn credit man!
Glad to see you back and I speak for every single one us here following your channel - we are excited. Here's to Built '23 🍻

Come on man. You paid 3500 . Look what you got for that small amount of money.
What you learned from that project is worth much more than that. Every problem you ran into you should have seen just from looking at it from a 100 yards away. Keep going young man . Remember as long as you are learning, even your failures are wins. Because knowledge is power and power is money and money is freedom. Freedom to take care of your family and more cool projects. God bless you and yours

First time watching your channel & was SURPRISED that you said that you never really worked on cars or painted them. YOU DID A HELL OF A DECENT JOB ON THIS CLASSIC. You also have a BEAUTIFUL FAMILY & THE BIGGEST PART IS " YOUR WIFE HELPS YOU ". She's into it & behind you, YOU DON'T REALIZE ( AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE ) HOW BIG THAT IS, F'KN HUGE BRO. My wife NEVER & I MEAN NEVER got in to my car hobby or me as a gun collector down the road on that one. YOU'RE DAMN LUCKY SON, DAMN LUCKY.
I was married in High School at the age of 17 ( GOT HER PREGNANT ) so we got married. Ended up having 2 son's & rented a TRAILER for 10 years before buying a house. KILLED ME, FUK'N KILLED ME but I had to sell 2 69 Camaro's I had to put towards the house ( back in 93 ) still had my 68 though.
You seem to have a good head on your shoulders REALIZING THAT THIS " WAS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE " YOU'RE STILL VERY YOUNG. Your skills will get better with every build, you'll learn tricks of the trade, what to look for when buying a vehicle, which one to buy & not to buy, LIKE I SAID YOUR LEARNING PLUS YOU REALIZE THAT. SHIT DON'T GO AS PLANNED ALL THE TIME BUT " YOU MADE MONEY " NO MATTER HOW SMALL, YOU MADE MONEY.
You'll get there, it takes years but you'll get there & the BIGGEST THING IS " YOU HAVE A WIFE THAT SUPPORTS YOU " HUGE WIN, YOU'LL REALIZE THAT WHEN YOU GET OLDER LIKE MY ASS, MINE NEVER DID.
By the way " THAT ENDING " laughed my fukin ass off, I subscribed, Henry from (THE RUST BELT ) N.E. PA.
MY HEART GOES OUT TO KEN BLOCK'S FAMILY, MAY HE REST IN PEACE, DAMN TRAGIC.

Hey man, just a couple tips to get even straighter cars! Im a body guy and have worked in resto shops and collision shops.
1: Invest in a quality set of body hammers and dollys. Martin makes a really good set. Make sure you work the dents out as good as possible before you start ok anything else, that way you wont need to pile on thick layers of bodyfill.
2: When filling, focus on spreading tight even coats to make sanding easier and invest in some good blocks! Durabock makes some good sets. Its important to use the block most suitable for the panel you are working on. The longer blocks are best for long flat sections of the car. Make sure to sand in a cross hatch pattern. Use long strokes and even pressure and try to evenly sand the whole surface. Use masking tape to help create your body lines. guide coat can be useful too. Finish blocking your fill with 320.
3: the BEST product for rust prevention is an epoxy primer. Prime everything with this after fill and before anything else.
4: block your epoxy primer with 320 and then spray your high build primer or sprayable polyester like the G2.
5: try to not use a feather edger to sand g2 or high build primers, instead, initially block with 220 using guide coat. This is an important step and power tools will make noticable waves!
6: once you are happy with the shape you have achieved, prime again with urethane primer. This is a last ditch effort in catching any tiny imperfections that you cant see. Block this primer with 320, 600, 800, with guide coat for each grit.
7: prep and paint! This is all personal preference but a good thing to think about for big projects especially restorations is three good coats of clear, then you can wetsand and polish to a glasslike finish without burning through!!
Cant wait to see the next project man, love your channel!

I have owned my 66 Mustang fastback since 1975. In 2016 it needed a total rebuild. We picked a well known shop to do the restore. They farmed out the work and it was a total mess....we ended up in court. We then rebuilt the car again our selves. So don't feel to bad....I wasted much more money!!!
The only mistake was paying what you did for a 6 cyl car. You did a LOT right. The accident(s) hurt you a bunch.....but that's life. In the end it looked good and you got about what they are going for right now. Good for you looking at this as a life lesson that you can build on!!! thx

    Love the new format.
Making money on old cars is tough. You need to either buy something non-running and with minimum effort/expense get it running and flip it for a small profit or go all out on something collectable with your time being the main expense. You need to make a good margin on a more intensive restoration, if your time would have been better served doing something else for minimum wage you have a huge problem. My old man used to do this as a side deal and he really knew his stuff. I still remember him laughing at a friend of his who was bragging about making double their money back on a build. They worked on the build full time for 3 months, subtracting a minimum wage salary for those 3 months and they wound up making a loss. Luckily for them, they learned a lot doing the restoration, including how to speed up and optimize the process. Sometimes the learning is worth the hit, it can save you a fortune on future builds.
Take a look at what old cars have new/aftermarket parts available still. 65 - 70 Mustangs are great cars to build, you can buy almost every single component and panel new/aftermarket. Something like a 65 Plymouth Barracuda is a much bigger/more expensive task. High volume, high demand cars tend to have more parts available for them as well as more flexible markets. Almost no one wants an engine swapped Porsche 911 but an LS/Coyote etc swapped Mustang will find a home pretty easily. Lean on friends and contacts for info on what sells and what to steer clear of. The internet can be deceiving, seeing 2 dozen of a particular car/model for sale could be good or bad, either they are in high demand or, no one wants them so they won't move. Someone in the business will know far better.

Old timers would always tell me to never put money into a car that you are going to sell because you will never get it back. For example, a guy I was talking to said he put 40k into a car that he could sell for 20k.
Similarly, when you buy a car you are going to KEEP, always buy one that is as complete as you can afford. If you buy a car for 5000 dollar and won't be happy until it is a 20 thousand dollar car, you'll end up spending another 35k to bring it up to that level.
Each dollar you put in yields at most 50 cents when you get out. And that is if you value your labor at nothing.
Of course , I am not smart enough to follow that rule, but I have seen that it is almost always correct.
In, sum: There is no way to make money buying and old car then fixing it up to sell.
If you say, "I bought a Hemi Cuda convertible for 5000 dollars in 1978 and could sell it for 250 thousand today." Well, I mean starting now, not in the last century.
As much as I hate to say it, the way to make money on old cars is to buy them cheap, do no repairs, then part them out. All the parts scalpers tell me how much they rake it in doing this.

Dude!!!!!!!!! This series is my favorite thing to happen on YT since back in the day when all the youtubers were poor! My fav ytbrs are not relatable anymore, cause I have a lotttt of old cars and this is such a beautiful episode! I am sorry for the long comment, but please please pleaseee keep doing what you are doing! I absolutely love it! Congrats on the baby, I have 2 baby boys of my own and everything, literally everything about your family reminds me of mine and I love it! Thankyou so much for bringing this series to life and I hope you can make a million $ in revenue in the future! I know you will! Much ❤️

Son eats his noodles, dad uses his noodle and Mustang makes the miracle mile! You're off to a running start! So much to be "tankful" for. Kelly

Enjoyed the video. I restored and customized a 68 California special. Classic mustangs when neglected are a nightmare to repair. All the little “simple” things add up to a lot of work when it’s all said and done. It’s not like a modern car where every thing fits. There were people at the factories making all the cheap crappy parts fit together nicely. I spent hours on the side window glass on mine and they’re still not perfect. I feel your pain, I’ll never restore a car this old ever again.

I love how the kids are just playing and you don't cut it. Him swinging the stick behind you as you make the video almost like nothing is going on. 🤣.

I would look into restoring 1970-1974 A-body cars from GM. Pontiac Lemans, Chevy Malibu, etc. A lot of body repair panels are available to include floor repair panels. The aftermarket has a lot of repro parts also. Mustangs cost a lot to repair because they are unibody's. Your next Mustang should be a low volume high performance model like a Boss 302, Mach 1.s Grandes, with high performance engine-transmission-rear end packages. That way you make your money back at the end of the restoration. Happy New Year!! Great to see you making videos again.

Kaleb, I thought of you the other day, missed you. Hey family and feeding the bunch takes priority! I’m glad you’re back, and thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m a car nut, ask my wife LOL… in my experience, you want to reap MAJOR profits on cars, you got to get the cream of the crop cars… I appreciate all those WONDER PRICES you tubers and the car auctions show…… but to me, that 1% of the reality, reality is, that you usually just get by at best. So you showing the true and unscripted reality is key! Your work is on point, you doing the right things… keep rocking and glad to see you again!

Awesome video, one of your best to date. A small tip when cutting out odd shapes like floor panels, research a 'ticking stick', it can save alot of time and material

64 1/2 was the first year. My brother was working in Detroit and invited me up and we went on a tour of Ford Motor Company and saw the Mustangs on the assembly line, after that I was hooked.

I enjoyed your journey, you did work on this car that many would run from. I did keep yelling at the computer for you to check the points, that wasn't your fault cars haven't used points since the mid-'70s. One tip for you is, as with any investment you make money when you buy it! I just subscribed, time to catch up on your older videos.
