I literally just purchased this for ONLY $219.00 at Sportsman's Warehouse (July 2024 Special). I am blown away at this gun's superb functionality. As you stated, it mirrors Glock in a very close parameter down to millimeters to their internals, but off enough not to get sued. Mechanically, this gun fires and eats ammo like a Glock 17 or Springfield XDS. It literally has NOT given me any FTF. The only thing I believe many or some will come to see and that's that the follower is made - the only part I can see at this point, made from inferior poly-resin plastic. In less than 400 rounds of 115 GR Winchester, the follower started to become engraved and created excessive wear spots. I reported it to Stoeger and they sent me replacement followers but this is a defect they'll have to adjust with as more of these are purchased. Otherwise, this is absolutely a must have gun! The price is ridiculously low and moved into an EDC position because after a solid 200 rounds fired as fast as I can swap mags, it literally never balked. It past my test to say the least. BTW, the '15 round' magazines actually hold 17 rounds! Even confirmed by the Stoeger Rep! This. Is. An. Amazing. Firearm!

A guy a work bought the early one that only came with one magazine. He's got a couple hundred rounds through it. Sounds good for the price with the optic plates , been wanting to get a handgun for a optic

I have the Ruger Max-9 which can use an optic as well, only other optic ready gun I have, and it’s been pretty good too

You're reviews are great! Proud to support a gun channel from behind enemy lines in Mass. I'll check out that shop next time in going through Woburn.

Thanks man! And yes, four seasons is a great shop. Good people, fast service, I’m usually in and out in 30-40 minutes depending on lines.

Excellent review on what looks to be a great pistol...
My latest budget pistol is the Palmetto State Armory Dagger which I got last year on their Labor Day sale for $228 shipped and I have been extremely happy with it so far...
I also own a Gen 3 Glock 19 and the only thing I did with the Dagger was install a Glock trigger because I do not like that hinged trigger like Smith & Wesson was using.

Nice.. looks very well put together especially for the price
In your SD40ve, have you ever used a heavier recoil spring? I've seen them for sale and I wonder if it might reduce felt recoil or wear and tear. I don't love shooting a lot of 40 with the light, budget frame...

I still have the factory recoil spring in my SD40VE

@@crankygunreviews reporting back! Just left the range. The 20lb recoil assembly reduced felt recoil by a noticeable fraction. Not a life changer. However, in about 200-225 rounds, I had 4 failures to feed/go into battery with CCI Blazer 180gr. Hornady critical duty, Sig v crown, Federal hydra shock, S&B jhps and Remington Green/White box jhps all fed and functioned normally. In my mind, not worth the trouble, but it more or less worked... Sort of

Cranky Gun Reviews Glock build quality?!?!? LOL!!! BTW it’s called a slide stop… Certainly not a slide release. And using Turkish in the same sentence as quality lol.
