      madame ruby judging by your screen name, I bet you like the sparkly ones!! 😝
      The little short ones may be the cutest little fish I’ve ever seen. I’m seriously considering upgrading aquariums to keep them. They make me smile 😊

      That’s the plan. Luckily my winters are fairly mild so there’s a chance it continues to grow the majority of the colder months. Last year there were only 6 days I didn’t feed due to temps, but the year before that was close to 6 weeks.

    Wow.
    Very nice. I am a real showa fan. Utsuri and showa and goromo are definitely my koi of choice so thanks for showing me these guys. Man I wish I lived close. I would be lining up to see which ones you are selling.
    I have a few domestic showa sanke utsuri varieties and some well mostly heinz 57.
    If you have time take a look.
    Thanks again for sharing and keep them coming.

      I’m a fan of them too. I feel Goromo is an underrated fish to have in the collection. I definitely like seeing them in people’s ponds.
      I’d be happy to look and thanks for watching!

      Yes so hard to find quality koi around here unless you go to Toronto area and then its still a crap shoot.
      I am so not a city person so I will stick to my domestic koi for now.

    Beautiful Showa! Is that a kumonryu? Wonderful video, as usual! Ahhh the oranda's are adorable! Yes, keep them! Love to see videos on keeping oranda.

      Southwest Koi Pond for sure! I think they will compliment the current collection. I’m not aware of a kumonryu in there. Did I miss something? Nicole is battling me to keep the orandas!! We only have a 20 gallon in the house!! 😆

      @@CapeFearKoi oh no!! Gotta keep them! I might have a 40 in the garage will have to look. #teamkeeptheorandas 😂 We are getting rid of all our extra tanks. Less tanks, less temptations. I swear the white doitsu was a kumonryu..I'll have to look again at your video. Always fun to watch!

      Southwest Koi Pond thanks for the offer! I do have a 55 and a 90. If I’m going to keep them, I have some decisions to make!!
      I’ll have to go check on that fish for all of our sake!

    Great video as always. I'm late to watching the Cape Fear videos so can I ask how big is your personal pond and how many fish do you have. Is there a video showing how it was all set up/and the filtration that you run.

    • @CapeFearKoi
      @CapeFearKoi  4 роки тому

      Thank you David. My personal pond is 5,000 gallons and have about 18 fish but many new ones which were recently purchased as tosai. I had up to 40 but have since thinned the herd to make room.
      I don’t have a video of it all setup, but will hopefully soon than later being doing a complete remodel on filtration and expanding.
      I have a few pressing projects to tend to first and then the pond remodel.
      I appreciate you stopping by and being part of Cape Fear Koi!

    What was the name of the medicine you put in the quarantine tank.

    • @CapeFearKoi
      @CapeFearKoi  3 роки тому +1

      The first medication I applied was Broad Spectrum Disease Treatment. Several brands have a similar product and this particular brand was from Microbelift.

      These are overall affordable medications which cover a very broad range of issues. I hope this helps!

      Celeste G-G that’s a very good idea! Have you need them? I know goldfish in general breed more often than koi. I may take you up on your suggestion!
