Thanks Cris! They really were some stud goldfish and quite beautiful too. I really like goldfish as pond pets as they can be quite striking and diverse and well as friendly.

I appreciate that! It took some elbow grease to get it there but not too bad overall. I’m glad the homeowner agreed to remove all the rocks as it will be much better for the fish and we’ve since landed a maintenance contract with them and will be easier for us and less expensive for them.
@@progressivepondkeeping most definitely. We talk ourselves out of big paying future jobs when we recommend taking rocks out, but we’d much rather be honest with them and build trust which could potentially lead to future jobs elsewhere. Plus, it’s overall just better for the pond and inhabitants. But don’t tell that to “certified rock pond installers” which rhyme with schmaschmascape. 😆
Hi..welcome back and happy new year to you and yours. First off..what size was the pond..it doesn't look too small but difficult to tell and secondly at the end of the video why was the hose set up in that way when you were adding the water. Whenever I add water the head goes below the surface to avoid any noise that might upset the fish. Keep posting and we will keep watching.

The pond was probably 600 gallons or so and usually that would be enough for a koi but the pond had too many obstacles and was as deep as it was wide which made it next to impossible for the koi to move around properly without scratching against the sharp rocks. It was basically able to swim to the little open area and into a cave. Main reason the hose was up is it was maxed out on length and about 6 feet shorty of reaching the pond so it had to be fastened to the vacuum in order to for the water to reach and there was a second hose that did reach was was in the pond. The splashing doesn’t bother them and it’s not more band typically less than a waterfall and those fish were actually swimming in the current and looked happy. I will sometimes spray in the ponds I maintain as well as our personal pond and the fish seek the spray and surface so I spray them. They will circle back and I will follow them with the spray at the surface and do this for 10 minutes at times.

It sure did. To be honest I’m not sure how but I think it was because of the leak there was a constant refresher of water which must have helped tremendously. I’m going to make sure it has plenary of room for its next home.
I watch a lot of the koi videos and people spend thousands on equipment and koi. I’m not a Koi guy, but it seems like nearly every pond I see is over stocked, this must be contributing the health and water quality problems they all seem to get with their fish.
