except when it catches on that white plastic bit right next to it. as the chain turns and hits that white plastic chain guard the guard will force the clip off like you say.....
That was my exact fate. My little heart jumped when I saw it. Was doing 60 on it regularly .oooff
Another thing to watch for, on dirt bikes, the clip wears down to nothing. I replace the link before it becomes a problem.
its amazing that a bike chain holds together anyway i reckon. so many small moving bits. Cheers Darrell
