The air filter pressure sensor is exactly what I've been wanting to do. We all change filters too often or not often enough. And with the cost of filters, this would be a money saver over time.

The output of the sensor is 4-20ma; you could look for an ESPHome device that can take that.

      ESP32 + Sensirion SDP810
The problem most people will have is they think there is a generic pressure they need to change the filter at.
The reality is that it's more complicated than that because it's specific to how well your duct & equipment was designed/installed. The worse the install, the more frequently the filter needs to be changed because there is so little margin of error.
If it's something you want to try, look up Total External Static Pressure. It's generally considered time to change the filter when the TESP hits 70-80% of the static pressure your air handler is set to run at.

Nice video! However, being an Electronic Automation & Control Engineer myself, really struck me in why he would use an oversized industrial hardware setup for home automation purposes? He is losing so much computing and communication power in that setup not to mention the cost of the devices.
The video's PLC is mainly used in industrial automations for its exceptional capabilities to control PID processes - in a P2MP (Master - Slave) architecture - over industrial automation protocols (e.g.Modbus, BACnet).
On the other hand, it is really clever the way he smoothly advertises the brand of the company he works with.

@@etrmedia Yeah it was pretty obvious you are also testing these things in your house.

Wow amazing. I’m having an issue trying to automate my HVAC diffuser. It can be programmed to for time and days but not with the HVAC system. Meaning it’ll run rather the heat/AC is on or not, so I’m wasting the scent because it’s not being pushed throughout the house. Anyone know how to automate this to turn off the diffuser or turn on the HVAC fan?

I wonder how much downtime is involved when sensors or connections fail, I haven't had much long keeping a system stable for more than a few weeks

I’m curious to see that waterflow sensor, but the link doesn’t work. Can you link it here?
