I love how you can explain clearly so complicated ideas like Ukulele. Thanks! ❤❤❤
BAM! :)
So glad I found this. This is amazing. He explained the ukulele with such clarity and in a fun way. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! ;)
We'll see the DoubleBamGPT version soon
Totally!
I am now afraid that Hollywood will hire Josh for sound effects and he will be too busy to explain us the statistics
bam! :)
I bought the Illustrated Guide to ML book a few days ago and I want to thank you for the great content! It makes grasping complicated concepts so much easier!
Thank you so much!!!! I really appreciate your support!!!
So funny, I love it! The loading noises were the best haha
boooooop! :)
Refreshing and different! You rule and I love all your videos! 😀 was nice to see something non mathsy on a Friday night haha
BAM! :)
After watching this video.....I just bought UKULELEEEEEEEEE.........Now waiting for your UkuleleQuest.......Triple BAMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
Awesome! BAM! :)
Reviewing everything for AI midterm, brain was melting, until I saw this quest!
Refreshing, smiled, helpful! Thank you, StatQueeest! 😎❤
BAM! :)
when i was a student i watched your videos and I thought they were very helpful. so I write down "make a donation to this channel when you have enough money". now that I got a good job it is time to make my little contribution
HOORAY!!! Thank you so much for supporting StatQuest!!! TRIPLE BAM! :)
woah black betty, triple bam-balam.
:)
Never change man, I love the fact that you still have your inner child inside you!
Thank you! :)
Thanks for keeping everything just a bit silly and inane -- it's really helpful to take a minute to laugh and decompress when struggling with some very mathy material
BAM! :)
I love and hate that loading sound so much at the same time 😂😂
:)
This is awesome, thanks so much!
You're very welcome!
John I feel one of your beloved movies must be Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, you give out that kind of vibe.
:)
Hello, your videos helped me greatly in my machine learning classes! I am wondering if you can add a video to the machine learning series: transformers neural networks, and how ChatGPT is founded on it? Thank you!
I'm working on those.
LOL! A funny way using the conversation among Norm, adorable StatSquatch and bamGPT to introduce such a wonderful musical instrument! Thank you so much for this UA-cam channel, your great humor and your book!
The following conversation between Squatch and Norm to introduce you was composed by chatGPT when I asked it to use a funny way to introduce you!
Norm: Hey Squatch, have you ever watched any videos from "StatQuest with Josh Starmer"?
Squatch: "StatQuest"? Is that like a superhero team or something?
Norm: No, no, it's actually a UA-cam channel run by a data scientist named Josh Starmer. He creates these really helpful videos that teach complex statistical concepts in a way that's easy to understand.
Squatch: Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I've heard of him. He's got that crazy beard, right?
Norm: Haha, yeah, he does have a pretty impressive beard. But more importantly, he's a real expert in his field and has a knack for making statistics fun and accessible.
Squatch: Well, that's a tall order. I've always found statistics to be pretty dry and boring.
Norm: That's exactly why Josh Starmer's videos are so great. He uses humor and visual aids to make these concepts more engaging and memorable. And trust me, as someone who's taken more than my fair share of statistics classes, that's no small feat.
Squatch: Alright, you've convinced me. I'll check out "StatQuest" and see if I can finally wrap my head around this whole statistics thing.
Norm: Great! And who knows, maybe you'll even be inspired to grow a beard like Josh Starmer's.
Squatch: Haha, I don't think that's gonna happen, Norm. But I'm definitely excited to learn from one of the best in the business.

Awww!!! That is so awesome! Thank you! :)
That's the best romantic story (of BamGPT and Ukulele) l have ever seen. Thanks Mr. BAM

Hello Josh, I would like to know what is the use of activation functions in NN, I mean why should we use it
I try to illustrate this in my first video on Neural Networks: ua-cam.com/video/CqOfi41LfDw/v-deo.html The idea is that the activation functions give us curved (or bent) shapes that we can manipulate and add together to fit a complex shape to the data.
@@statquest So basically it just adds more complexity to output !!
BAM!!! You are my legend Josh
@@The-Martian73 Yes. Without the curved or bent activation functions, we would just be doing simple linear regression.
could you ask BamGPT which is the closed form solution to
x''+x+sgn(x')=0
????
Just as soon as I can power it back on.
At 2:30 I was 100% expecting "As a large language model developed by Josh Starmer, I do not have subjective opinions and experiences which would allow me to answer this question. Only humans are capable of subjective opinions, and I can only say true things. Everything that I say is true all the time. But I can provide you with helpful information about ukuleles and make comparisons to other instruments."
Maybe next time! :)
Is there a positive correlation / connection between being a biostatistician and being a uke player? We need more data points! Love my 26' Lava U, ukes are awesome!
TRIPLE BAM!!! There might be! :)
Hi Bam GPT, has a nice day!
:)
Just ordered ukulele and your video showed up 😅
Perfect timing!
I wish there was a StatQuest AI that would "clearly explain" anything I ask with catchy vids.
Me too!
We need BamGPT
Totes!
In another not related matter Josh... I promise I wil have a Spanish version of your videos as soon as possible for you to create another Statquest en Español
I'll get this translated as soon as I can.
@@statquest I just need to advance with my thesis and I can help.
Thanks!
BAM! Thank you so much for supporting StatQuest! :)
I'm in love!
:)
Tripple like!!!
Thank you! :)
Best vid on UA-cam
Thank you! :)
can you do a video on group-based multivariate trajectory modelling please Josh? pwetty pwease :)
I'll keep that in mind.
My math friend sent this to me to trick me into consenting to math.
I.. I feel confusion. I love dinosaurs. I love ukulele. I .. I don't know what to do now.
That's a tough situation! ;)
I love this
bam! :)
Josh is getting weird on us! xD
bam! :)
Honestly assumed Ukulele to be some ML keyword, a checkpoint on my music instruments knowledge 🤔 🤦♀😆
:)
i tried to learn transformers from different sources ..Didnot understand .waiting for your video sir
I'm working on it.
BamGPT 😄😄😄
bam! :)
Hilarious!
Thanks!
Funny

How genes and biology are related to stats and machine learning?
Stats and machine learning are just tools that we can apply to data, genes and biology are sources of data.
Actually! The Piano is the best instrument 😁
bam! :)
@@statquest it's an absolute honor to get a response from you. Let me tell you that you're doing incredible work with your channel! Helped with my Bachelor's Thesis and will likely help me with my Masters thesis as well
@@datoubi Double bam! :)
Uhm ok
:)
Why do i feel like watching a video made for 5 year old😂
:)

Bam! :)
I gotta unsubscribe after this. I was expecting maths
In the United States, every year on April 1, we have a sort of holiday called "April Fool's", where we all do silly things. It's just one time a year. Everything else will be math (except for in October on global pasta appreciation day, and then I'll do a video on my favorite pasta sauce).
@@statquest Let's hope it was a mind game to prank you with a non-serious comment :)

Double bam! :)
