inSANE cover!! thank you, Denzel
He nailed the vocal part but does he understand what he's saying? Or will his handlers let him know?
@@dealerslicenseopswhat do you even mean by this? you assume that he put this much effort into bridging the gap into another genre because of management or something? he killed this cover, and clearly resonates deeply with this song

It's a cover, he chose the assignment.
@@tonymeman9041 you can choose the book for the book report and still fuck up the assignment
The fusion between rap and metal is too good. Such an amazing combination. He rocks so hard.
Honestly my take when he started rapping was that he doesn't have much experience making lyrics that mesh with a band.
But in his defense A.) He's a rapper not a singer
and B.) The band was just playing the original in terms of what the instruments were doing.
A new section would need to made to fit new lyrics.
But the emotion is there so it doesn't feel like he's an outsider.
you should check out paris texas, especially their EP Red Hand Akimbo
@@karateman1988 this is literally fuckin word salad. youre saying nothing and none of your criticisms are valid. what the fuck are you actually trying to convey
Go check the band DVSR is awesome
@@karateman1988couldn’t disagree more. Maybe you were put off by the polyrhythmic flow but that verse went super hard and match the song perfectly in my opinion.
Five years later and this recording still blows me away. The passion and the energy Denzel brings is just incredible. Look at the way the other musicians react to his energy when he steps on the mic. Look at the way they smile at each other at the end, or the way even the keyboard guy is going mad. And all of this at 8 am in the morning Aus time. Denzel is something else.
Zach's version is like being fed up with the system the first time, Denzel's is realising that shit hasn't changed since '96
Yes!

But... HOLY CRAP. This is.... absolutely fantastic.
yes
Hey knocked that one out of the park.
This is how you cover a song, physically, musically, emotionally, intellectually, and make it better. At first, I wanted to say how great it sounded, but that can’t even begin to convey how well done this is
I dont think people understand how impressive that was, dude murdered it. Like nailed it perfectly
Str8 up bruh and those are BIG shoes to fill
@@Waaaay2Fly for sure and he murdered that shit
Never thought someone would be able to put Zack power and emotion into a song, sounds even angrier than him
Ya he really nailed it . You can clearly see him looking at a teleprompter the whole time .
Austin Rodriguez Be even better if Tom Morello was actually on guitar.
I love how unhinged Denzel sounds on this track. De la rocha’s original performance was more controlled and spit-fire, but Zel straight up sounds like he’s losing his mind
You can tell he *means* the lyrics.
I mean this song was released in 95 or something and it's still relevant, I'd be pissed singing it too. You'd think we'd learn something?
its militant as fuck
How would you know what the sound of someone losing their mind is? It's an act, like a clown, when RATM plays this song, live, the crowd loses our minds collectively, that is the sound of art having a true impact.
On March 4, 2014, Curry's brother Treon "Lotto" Johnson died as a result of complications of being tasered by Hialeah police. It's a song about police violence and his brother died by the hands of an officer
I've never heard Denzel Curry before but that man 100% without a doubt did exactly what needed to be done with that song. It couldn't be better. He achieved the anger, the emotion, the precision, the volume, the energy and even put his own verse in there too. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
Bro is done with the popos
Denzel's rap stuff is actually amazing, but it's also very different in style. I highly recommend checking him out because he's a very good underrated rapper.
Can't believe I'm just finding this. Nuts. What a sick cover for such an iconic song.

An apex Legends reference I see

Crying at this performance that I revisit at least one a couple of months. Music really is the conduit. The artists role is to speak of things that cannot be put into words. This performance rules.
Shout out to my man at the keyboard, he tryin his best even tho u can’t hear him.
lmao, that's tru
guys did anyone remember to turn my keyboard on
He is layered with the bass part to give it a chunkier feel. I am pretty sure it was a pretty low key he was hitting there, so if it was on a synth sound to match the bass its not gonna be easy to hear... but it will make the bass guitar sound like it has a bigger sound than it really does. Often times a good keyboard part doesn't stand out, but doesn't need to in order to get the effect you need it to get.

Usually I hate Rage covers because I feel like they never capture the spirit and energy of the songs as they were performed by RATM but this dude is channeling Zack de la Rocha perfectly for this song.
Spot on man. The energy is 100% on this cover. That real angst which others don't have.
Word
I think the hardest thing about covering them is they they're actually amazing at playing in the pocket. Rage is rhythm section out, so someone just playing the guitar part or just singing doesn't fully get it. You've gotta get several awesome and high energy dudes to play rage, because that's what rage is.
Brass Agaisnt do pretty good covers of RATM and its brass instruments. Maggie's Farm is really good
The problem with this cover is that the energy is there %100 but he lacks the calm collected vocals that put the threat in them. Like it sounds like he's angry but anyone can be angry; not everyone can do something about it. Like the difference between someone ranting on facebook vs someone who would pull the trigger. Im not sure if I expressed that in a way that everyone can understand but in my opinion that's what I feel like it's lacking. Overall best cover ive seen out there. Well done

We can hope man, it's tough to say for sure but I MIGHT like this more than the original. He's got the pipes for sure.
there's another band like RATM. yall should check out hyro the hero. their music is kind of the same. metal+rap
I think he knows. He makes more emotive, angrier hip-hop compared to his contemporaries, all while emo-trap is trendy. He definitely knows what he's doing, ZUU's last track (forgot what it's called) is really high energy and metal-ish.
My neighbours love this song
This and Tpain covering “Warpigs” gotta be the best covers I’ve ever heard
When you are coming straight outta Grove Street but are the only one listening to Radio X.

Shawn_From_D_Ghetto Denzel lookin kinda scary doe | DENZEL LOOK1N K1ND4 ZC4RY DOE
Rap metal is a really hard genre to make not sound cringey. Zac managed it, I think Denzel's really manic aggression is the thing that makes this cover land.
X tried he was good too

Two words:
MC RIDE.
Kier Eliot X managed it in his own emo way.

I'm a old rage fan since 93 and this guy is class. I'm well impressed.
Hell yeah
100% I was ready to be unimpressed but I have to say...well done sir 👍
It has the right feel to it. The urgency in his voice can be heard and makes all the difference.
Many have tried and he passed
What a tight mix, damn
