Almost 40 year old school RATM fan here, no idea who this guy is, but that was fkn awesome. Killed it. Absolutely loved it 👌 His own verses in the solo slotted in there nicely.
Not a Denzel stan, but do yourself a favor and listen to his stuff if you havent yet. He's a very complete artist, his music is usually very deep, and can even be considered the RATM of rap, from the most debated topics like social inequity and racism, to things people dont usually talk about like the suicide and selfish culture these days. Also, if you liked this i suggest you listen to a live stream Post Malone did around new year's time, covering a bunch of Nirvana songs, obviously not the same punl energy as ratm but like Denzel its arguably as good as the original.
It's funny because the reason the rapping fits (even though he was about a half beat off) is because Tom Morello actively channeled rapper cadences or dj scratching into his solos.
@@kessel4499 I'd 100% want Zach to come back, but he doesn't seem to want to reprise his role as front man from what I've seen, so if the band miraculously got back together and Zach didn't return, then I'd want curry to do it. Atleast put him as the front for Prophets of Rage
Arent Like A Version covers always unexpected? Thats why i love them because its my favorite artist singing my favorite songs that i never imagined them singing before
Dustomatic Yo i know but there are people who are professional singers/rappers who cannot carry a tune or who do not have proper breath control. regardless, it is still impressive.
Aboriginal didgeridoo players use the "circular breathing" technique to continually play, but I think Denzel has just mastered the timing for WHEN he needs to breathe. I'm not 100% sure tho but it seems that way!
He is layered with the bass part to give it a chunkier feel. I am pretty sure it was a pretty low key he was hitting there, so if it was on a synth sound to match the bass its not gonna be easy to hear... but it will make the bass guitar sound like it has a bigger sound than it really does. Often times a good keyboard part doesn't stand out, but doesn't need to in order to get the effect you need it to get.
Just listen to Rage Against the Machine. Evil Empire and The Battle For Los Angeles. This guitarist doesn't compare to Morello. Zach and Morello together is god level.
Damn, as a Rage fan, and a person who admittedly had no clue who Denzel was till watching this, that was really good. Better than Prophets of Rage, that's for sure.
Grief Hammer Denzel Curry is one of my favorite artist and if you could take the time to listen to the rest of his discography I suggest starting with Ultimate, Story with No Title, A.S.S., and the entire 13 EP
Holy shit, how did I just now discover this? NEED him to do Killing in the Name now. Just imagining this same energy belting out “Now you do what they told ya…” and especially “Fk you I won’t do what you tell me!” over and over.
His use of one of the most emotionally impactful verses of TA13OO, that in the album coincides with the beat fading out and it’s almost somber, and turning it into essentially an amazing bridge verse for one of the best rap covers I’ve ever seen is truly one fucking hell of a move. Denzel never disappoints he really keeps raising the bar
Went and saw Denzel Curry live in Manchester end of last year with my friend, he went off stage to come back on for the encore and I was just shouting ‘BULLS ON PARADE!’ Getting looks like ‘wtf is this kid on about?!?!’ Safe to say when he came back out on stage and this started, I lost my shit

This made me burst out laughing
Hahahahaha
That is hilarious...apt.
such a nice channeling animation from denzel
An apex Legends reference I see
Will never be a better cover of this song. That is real rage
Goddamn. I seen people tear up covers before, but this is straight homicide. Bravo, dude.
At least triple homicide
Every night I wake up in a cold sweat knowing there are people who don’t have this song on their workout playlist

Glad you said and texted this. It's now in mine. GAINS

I don't workout period
😁😁
Dude... Denzel can single handedly bring back Rap-Metal and if he wrote quality stuff, it can be revolutionary
Rap-Metal ain‘t dead tho... Sure, the only "big" Rap-Metal band around right now is probably Body Count, but in lesser known scenes there‘s still plenty. Ho99o9 and Ghostemane for example.
He has to collab with biohazard
You can't bring back something that never left. You act DC is the only one doing it.
Has much has the metal community hates limp bizkit and nu metal. it was that scene in the earl 00's that brought my black ass into metal. Also have to thank WWE for all the metal dope theme entrance songs.
Nu Metal bro
How did this mf rage just as hard, if not harder, than Zach?? Mad respect. He’s channeling the fury.
My favorite part is that he doesn't just drop the mic, he sets it gently on the floor and walks away calmly.
those are expensive man, and this is a publicly funded studio
@@craigsbenedict I know. What a respectful guy.
Virgil Alonso hahaha yes! And the band are just like “whoah wtf just happened?”
@@craigsbenedict that's actually a pretty cheap and durable mic
yeh he’d explained earlier in the show he didn’t wanna deal with paying for breaking another mic
He showed his versatility in this . Great cover. Very impressed
Almost 40 year old school RATM fan here, no idea who this guy is, but that was fkn awesome. Killed it. Absolutely loved it 👌
His own verses in the solo slotted in there nicely.
He kicks ass man, definitely check out more of his stuff!
It's now rage with machine , beware of fighting monsters lest you become monsters ( nietzsche)
His best song is darude - sandstorm
It's funny because the reason the rapping fits (even though he was about a half beat off) is because Tom Morello actively channeled rapper cadences or dj scratching into his solos.
That was the best cover of any song I’ve ever heard
This is without a doubt one of the greatest covers ever

Petition for Denzel to cover Rage's entire discography
Nah bring Rage back together with him as the new front man
@@Zombub nooo zach can never be replaced. Without him we'd probably never have Denzel because zach is obviously some inspiration in Denzel
@@kessel4499 I'd 100% want Zach to come back, but he doesn't seem to want to reprise his role as front man from what I've seen, so if the band miraculously got back together and Zach didn't return, then I'd want curry to do it. Atleast put him as the front for Prophets of Rage

Love your vids though bro
How is that killing it? If you mean like an abortion...sure, he murdered it.
I didn't think it was possible to cover this song. Good job. 9/10.
This was so freaking unexpected
Not really
the aggression is so fucking similar to RATM. I'm on the comment section and it feels like 2009 when i used to listen to RATM (without the video).
Arent Like A Version covers always unexpected? Thats why i love them because its my favorite artist singing my favorite songs that i never imagined them singing before
IKR?!
XXXTENTACION and practically everyone from that particular Rap camp listens to music like this
Y'all did him dirty with that thumbnail
Fr 😂😂
I agree.
that thumbnail looks pretty fuckin cool
I doubt he minds
I was like who dag but it's more that he has his hair tied back
insane amount of breath control especially during/after the rapping part
You should see how low his voice can go
He’s a professional rapper. He does it for a literal living. Of course he has insane breath control.
This is definitely one of the best covers of any song I’ve heard. The raw energy he has, his vocals. He absolutely murdered this track
Drums : Jamie Cameron, Bass : Joel Burton, Guitar : Harts, Synth Bass and Musical Director : Michael McGlynn. We're stoked you guys loved it!!!

Yummy
Peanut butter jelly time~
Ok I leaves
Make altenative great again))
The angry rock music is the bread, the political lyrics are the peanutbutter and rap vocals are the jelly on top.
Shout out to my man at the keyboard, he tryin his best even tho u can’t hear him.
lmao, that's tru
guys did anyone remember to turn my keyboard on
He is layered with the bass part to give it a chunkier feel.
Man's job could have been done with a bass pedal
@@charonder bands job couldve been done with a backing track
Imagine Denzel in a new band w/ former Rage Against the Machine guys. Much love from Brazil, Denzel! You NAILED it!
If Denzel did an album like this I'd 10000% bump that. He went TF iiinnn
For real he got a good voice for this kind of music
Behind the rap he’s hiding a lot more potential
Just listen to Rage Against the Machine. Evil Empire and The Battle For Los Angeles. This guitarist doesn't compare to Morello. Zach and Morello together is god level.

Possibly the greatest unexpected cover I've ever seen of possibly the greatest song I've ever heard. The passion here is real.
Except the full covers album by RATM ofc ;D
Right?! I’m a fan of him and a HUGE fame of RATM so when I saw this I was super skeptical...the moment he started I was like “Daaaammmnnn!!!”
I been following denzel for a while, this was unexpected but this isn't surprising, all through taboo he shows snippets of his metal ability
I love how these covers make you feel how good of a musician the performer is, and at the same time how good the song fits the original band

Same. On repeat since the other day. Heard of Denzel Curry before but now I'm a fan
He puts the RAGE back into RATM, long time Rage fan and this cover is by far the best thing I have heard in a long time (other then the original).
Could not agree more. Awesome seeing this energy in rock again.
I’m glad it will probably have more people look at the original this was so great
Yeah I'm always afraid of seeing people cover RATM songs. There's a level of raw violence that is essential, which most people just can't reach.
He killed the vocals, AND layed his verse from SIRENS over the instrumental? I wasn't ready.
Jacob Meza nobody was ready 😭 he killed it

Just imagining this same energy belting out “Now you do what they told ya…”
and especially “Fk you I won’t do what you tell me!” over and over.
Him covering RATM could be the best but also saddest thing since his Rage is real cause his brother died by the hands of Police.
His use of one of the most emotionally impactful verses of TA13OO, that in the album coincides with the beat fading out and it’s almost somber, and turning it into essentially an amazing bridge verse for one of the best rap covers I’ve ever seen is truly one fucking hell of a move.
