Like A Version is a segment on Australian radio station triple j. Every week a musician or band comes into the studio to play one of their own songs and cover a song they love.

As someone with dyspraxia / developmental coordination disorder who has fallen over trying to put pants on many times, I am impressed by people who can do any of those things on their own, let alone in unison.
(For anyone interested, 85% of autistic people also have dyspraxia. It's common amongst us neurodivergent folk.)

I've watched so many videos of Little Simz performing live, but this song will always be my favourite time I've seen her. She's insanely talented; not only is she lyrically smart in her own writing, but she's incredibly technically skilled too. Big, big fan of her!
Saw her live as the supporting act for Gorillaz when they did their Humanz tour. Garage Place was released just a few days prior. What an epic live experience. She hyped the crowd up it was insane. When she returned to the stage later when they played Garage Place, everyone went wild!

Damon isn’t emoting in his vocals on the original, I would say his sort of flat approach fit the song perfectly & they attempted to capture that either.

@@DarkEliteEric not in terms of music theory but a "flat approach" is still used here correctly in terms of grammar, as they're saying it's a more carefree approach, which the band does seem to have in this cover, same as Albarn's original version.
Damon is crazy emotive, he's just not super loud. There is a bit of "I'd rather be doing something else" about this performance, I'm sure if that's an interpretation of the songs attitude or a genuine sentiment. It's a good take, like Jared Leto's Joker.
