I have the answer to the entrapment issue. The Perverted Justice decoys never made the first move. They went into the chat rooms, but the predators initiated the contact, which is how they avoided the appearance of entrapment.
Edit: Thanks for the likes everyone. I really didn't expect this to blow up. I listened to Chris Hansen's podcast for over 33,000 minutes this year.

@@brandon737 also if the cop makes it a life or death scenario to sell them drugs it’s entrapment. There was a case where a man sold an undercover cop a prescription drug because the cop said he’d die if he could get it. That man was charged but eventually got off because he wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t a life or death scenario.

So many of them say that "they can't help it" which is a total bullshit and no excuse. If they can't control their behavior then they 100% deserve to be locked in some sort of asylum. It also looks like they don't even try to stop themselves. Not every victim has to become abusive, it's not a rule.

He's just paying the consequences for his actions. Obviously through his own decisions he went down the path he did rather than being a force of good to speak out and help others that were, or could be future, victims. People like that need to be put in front of a psychologist immediately to help them with the trauma, and people just need to be instilled with moral values that are against that kind of behavior

About the “entrapment issue”. For one, the decoys are never the ones to initiate contact. It’s always the predator that starts conversation online with, what they think, is a minor.
Second, when you look at the chat logs, it’s also always the predator that stays dominant. The decoys NEVER lure or flat out flirts with the predator.
    (Made up example):
Pred: “I really wanna do this and this and this”
Decoy: “I’m not sure, I’ve never done that before..”
Pred: “Don’t worry I’ll teach you” etc etc. The decoys never use vulgar or sexual language!
I have seen cases here on UA-cam, where a creator is accused of predatory behavior. And then you find out that someone tricked them into it by 1) Initiating contact and sexual language/behavior, and 2) either lie to the audience about their age, or lie to the “predator” by saying they are over 18. And then of course we have all the screenshots and chat logs taken out of context etc. THAT would be entrapment. This is not.

    • @isaiahlaitinen
      @isaiahlaitinen 3 роки тому +114

I've even seen cases thrown out of court because the cops who are supposed to be posing as teens have the full chat with the dude and then say "oh, by the way, I'm 13/14/15," after they show up.The decoys in PJ actually did a good job for volunteers. Another thing worth noting is that only a law enforcement officer can technically commit "entrapment," so that wouldn't apply anyway.

Bullshit. One of reasons behind show cancellation was way they trapped predators (suicide of prosecutor was just tipping point on mountain of falling views and legal problems) They often started conversations and enticed predators, they never shown real transcripts or shown only few matching legal way of doing things, friendly reminder they shown only few predators while they said each sting operation got about 40 visits, they shown only few done right. You ever wondered why most predators from show walked free in the end? That's why. It was wrong way of doing sting operations and it was entrapment so most walked free and those locked up had much more behind ears or foolishly admitted to everything. In my country sting operations like they did for show are illegal, in fact recently whole group was jailed for that. As for show it was later confirmed by stuff that showeruners would do anything for views and no one cared about kids or capturing predators. One of key members of that predator hunting group we see often in show as bait works in tweeter now and is openly supporting pedophilia by advertising and supporting 'cuties' those were the garbage people that worked on that show. Any good they did was purely coincidental and byproduct of trying to earn that sweet views to keep money flowing.

Regarding the Lawyer that killed himself, he's a District Attorney and is a known lawyer and a politician in his County. He got many connections and he's a single man (no wife) and his only family is his sister. In the chatroom or chatlogs, the lawyer posed as a 21 or something years old man and he did contact the decoy but did not show up in the house itself. After many days, the police turn up in his yard bringing SWAT and camera crews from TCAP. They busted into the house and see the Lawyer holding a gun and shout to them "I don't want to hurt any of you man" and then shot himself in the temple killing him. After the said altercation, they found the computer still running which they found out that the said Lawyer has been investigating cases connected to "child abuse" and "pedophilia" (I think?). Also, they found child pornography in the house. Even the camera crew catches all that on camera. Lastly, the family of the said lawyer filed a lawsuit against the show and NBC in which they won the legal battle. (I think that's the reason why the show was stopped since the legal battle is costly and the controversy they were facing is immense).
PS: The Police have many loopholes prior to the conducting of the said raid. You can search it to find out the discrepancies of the Police Department involved in the said raid.

He was having chat logs with the decoy that was posing as a 13 year old boy, and sending inappropriate pictures. He was 100% willingly breaking the law, and also lied about his age himself saying he was a 19 year old university student. I think police could've been smarter about it too, but I believe Conradt took his life because he knew his career was over and he was going to jail.

The guy who offed himself that you guys are talking about was Luis Conradt, a district attorney one county over from the sting. When he got spooked and didn't show up, PJ saw that his MySpace was deleted so the police moved to arrest him at his house. He shot himself when the cops broke in and confronted him. The very talented phone/camera decoy stopped working with PJ since that situation really shook him up. Conradt's sister sued NBC over the incident and they later settled.
Worst of all, though, is that almost all the other predators caught in that sting were let go, because none of the judges/prosecutors wanted to deal with that mess. And there are lots of opinions on this situation.
My opinion: Conradt was absolutely guilty, as there was plenty of evidence he didn't get to destroy. And I don't shed a tear for him. But there's a reason the justice system has a protocol for everything--to keep evidence clean and prevent any suspicion of a conflict of interest on part of the police. And it is very arguable that the police did a sloppy job, influenced by the production of the show. I think Dateline and PJ made some serious mistakes in this situation that clouded the legal process for multiple would-be convictions, but that doesn't warrant the wrongful death suit imo, nor the series' eventual cancellation.

@@roygbiv9038 why would anyone who’s been exposed and imprisoned for being a child predator want pity and empathy and leniency? And take responsibility for his actions instead?
Vinnie Ambrosio was like that too but in the house. Pure manipulation.
Plus I’ve had experience with non-child predators who behaved exactly this way. It’s just classic manipulation. It’s also like how kids try to lie their way out of trouble.

Legal entrapment only includes crimes that the perpetrator would not have committed otherwise but for the manipulation of law enforcement.
"Government agents may not originate a criminal design, implant in an innocent person's mind the disposition to commit a criminal act, and then induce commission of the crime so that the Government may prosecute."
Sting operations are not legal entrapment.

I'm not saying that to excuse his absolutely disgusting behavior and crimes because there is no excuse for that, but his childhood was almost certainly what lead him down that path. And that's also why it's so important to help kids/teens in similar positions today so that they don't grow up to become as terrible people as this man.

For me personally, I only really know and have experience being a sit in/evaluator for child abuse for sexual, physical, neglect, etc.
For me there was certain signs to look for and I could document, but the nurses were naïve to physical abuse warning signs (an example I have is when a child I had a severe concussion/trauma in the frontal lobe that extended to her brain stem, and the nurses saw nothing wrong when I pressed the call button with the mom's hands square on her daughter's shoulders about to start shaking again/yelling at her.)
Unfortunately they were really legally scrutinizing too in another case. Even though there was behavior there that indicated pedophilia/sexual trauma (excessively seeking hugs/touch, being scared to pee, scared of water, saying an obvious statement), the law in Canada can still make those signifers objective.
The parent could say "Oh I just washed ____ and they're learning about sexuality and were curious" or disgusting and disturbing sh*t like that and it can turn into hear-say. There's things put in place that can make child abusers, and sexual offenders squirm and find a way out of an action they did unfortunately if other people don't pick up on what they need to so they can correctly identify. The law often accommodates even when situations are extreme like that one was where kids still get abused and the perpetrators aren't tried as offenders because of how the foster system works, availability for placement, "keep the child with the parent" mentality, etc.
