Lorne was going to take Kayla back to his crappy apartment in Nashville, give her 5 minutes to play with his dog, then undress her and subject her to a fate worse than death. She was also supposed to blow him while he was driving back to Nashville. The impulse is to laugh but this guy is a serious predator.

Regarding not “putting these guys on blast”: No. Do put them on blast. Get their face out there for the world to see because they do not stop and they do not change. When I took my abuser to court multiple women came forward who had been abused as children going back years and years. They forfeit their right to privacy when they decide to prey on kids.

Right, they did that the day they thought it was right to infiltrate the privacy of an innocent, vulnerable minor. I will give no unwarranted mercy. They can choose to live their lives however they want, but such actions will live on their names for however long they go on.
Same for me, and he got out of prison after like a year and a half (so half of his sentence) because of « good manners »…. A little personal but I feel compelled to share: I am both entertained and appreciative of these videos. It may sound weird, but I rewatch a good bit of yalls videos on TCAP to help me unnormalize and recognize inappropriate interactions between adults and minors. At the age of 13 I was in a relationship and living with a 22 year old guy. Like lived together, slept in the same bed with my door closed kinda shit. I always thought it was ok and normal, nobody in my life told me otherwise, not even my parents who ALLOWED this man to move in. It wasn’t until my mid 20’s that i realized nothing about that was ok. And I will rewatch these episodes when I start to have the thoughts of “it’s normal” to remind myself that no, this is not normal and it is not ok and that guy I dated was a sick and abusive predator. So thank you Ken and Dane for unkowningly helping me through my therapy process with these videos. Don’t stop shining a light on these wrongs, and making me laugh with the excitement of them getting tazed! Love you guys!

I feel for you.. When I was VERY little I was manipulated and groomed to marry my own father. As soon as I got out of his predatory behaviour he turned verbally abusive instead.. He was only caught last year when he hurt others, nearly 10 years after he hurt me. I keep telling myself he is a terrible man and a monster, I am filled with rage for what he did to the others and I grieve the childhood I couldn't have, but he had "good days" and those make it SO HARD to hate him. I miss him a lot, more than I want to admit to my friends and family, so these videos help the logical part of my brain stay grounded and in charge. No one should care for these predators, it takes knowledge to manipulate and groom a child. They know what they are doing, it IS intentional and the damage it does is irreversible.
As someone who actually read the entire 400+ pages of chat logs from this guy and the decoy, I know for a fact that this man's face NEEDS to be shown. He is a textbook groomer. Even when the decoy was disinterested and not very responsive, he was constantly messaging her and DM'ing her. When she said she had to get up early for school, he would try to guilt trip her into continuing the conversation. Some of his messages he acted like he was trying to "protect" her from online creeps, then within like 30 minutes, he was trying to tell her how to pleasure herself. He also wound up doing the same thing a couple more times after TCAP. The lore is deep with this guy. He also scammed a really sweet elderly woman out of a bunch of money. He's just trash.

Anyone who defends a pedo or r*pist is likely one themselves. All preds should be tortured for the rest of their lives, as their victims will mentally suffer from their abuse for their rest of their lives. If they don't get proper therapy they could end up with such severe mental health issues that they pass along that abuse to their kids, or even becomes preds themselves. Pedos most often attack their own family, and it continues generationally. Especially in religious homes where they home-school so the kids don't have a chance to report the abuse to other adults.
This guy was trying to sleep with a 13-year-old. 13. I was groomed and then abused from the ages 12 to 14. To the people who say the predators shouldn't be blasted online because this was 15 years ago: the trauma they caused doesn't just go away. I have spent the last 16 years in and out of therapy and while it gets easier to deal with, it never goes away. It doesn't matter if the predator has changed. What they do isn't 'just a mistake', it haunts the victims for the rest of their lives. And I think the show and these two's reaction is a good thing - it might show teens and parents the risks of meeting older dudes online and make them more alert.

The pain never goes away and it always feels fresh. It permanently affects your mental wellbeing, feeling of safety, social interactions and often you're not even able to have a healthy romantic and s.. life bc of ptsd. It is a scar for a whole life. For these predos it's just a few moments of ugly pleasure, for a victim it can be even a reason to commit a suicide later.

I think the biggest issue people have with Lorne as far as still harassing him is because he to this day refuses to take responsibility for what he did, he blames nbc, and chris Hansen, and the actress, his sister for not making him Mac and cheese, another sister for not bringing him meatballs, and perverted justice but puts none of it on him, the catfishing tapes didn’t help either because it shows that he’s a horribly abusive pervert who’s insanely controlling plus he’s an alcoholic who mistreats his brother for being one as well. Overall Lorne is a terrible person so people have taken it upon themselves to be even more terrible to him and while it’s not something I agree with, it’s also not something I can feel bad about either
I assumed as much when he believed he had actual fans instead of just ironic ones. That showed he doesn't think what he has done was wrong in any capacity. He genuinely believed people were on his side.
Lorne Armstrong is no one to feel sorry for. To this day, he has never accepted responsibility for his crimes and continues to blame everyone else but himself for his actions. He even said that Chris Hansen was at the sting house for “all the wrong reasons”.

That damage is PERMANENT, so they deserve no right to have their identity protected. They're called maps, and the only reason I know this is because Twitter seems to be the cesspool that supports them the most. It's disgusting and they literally don't deserve the chance to even try to call that a sexuality, which is the whole premise of their "movement". I think they're called MAPs, and they try to make out that being attracted to minors is just the same as any sexual orientation, and that they can't help it. The decoy was much more interactive in this episode than she usually is. Usually shes more timid and awkward. She got him to say several things before Hansen even got to pry it out of him.
Part of it is fear. They let decoys know not to be within x feet but don't be suspicious, which is a hard combo to pull off. But she found out the right ways to be safe, seem legit, and get info casually. This episode shows how good she has gotten at her job.
The way I see it: if someone sexually harms a minor the minor has to deal with that for the rest of their life. If the predator gets caught they should have to deal with it for the rest of their life.
The show doesn’t censor them, why should you guys? They’re dangerous people even now. If anything comes out of this, it brings awareness because your audience are parents and kids. These are real people, and censoring their names makes it kinda seem like you’re protecting them. If they didn’t want to be blasted all over, they shouldn’t have preyed on children.

It's super important to put them on blast as much as possible, as the legal system does very little to hold them accountable to registering or informing their communities that they're offenders. Take a look at that psycho pred Jeremy Dewitte. He continuously fails to register as an offender, breaks the law in other crazy ways and gets caught, but still no new charges or punishment for failing to register. He never even did any actual jail time for his pedo charge, like many of the offenders' cases we hear about.
As someone who works in a correctional facility and sees these people up close, these mfs will never change. Most act so entitled and as if the world is owed to them (who the hell knows why). A lot are repeat offenders, so if there’s anything that can be done to discourage this atrocity, like making fun of them on the Internet, (which is the least harmful response possible in comparison to what they’ve done), then I say do it. Also, what you hear is true, the other inmates really hate predators. Update on 8/12/23: Wow I don’t think I’ve ever received this much feedback from a comment before, thanks guys. I still work at the same facility, and the sentiment still stands in jail about inmates hating predators, have watched plenty of fights started over that very thing! I also did see for the first time ever a case this year where an older man was accused of SA his granddaughter and was ultimately let go. Was brought in and charged with a Class A felony. Now he swore he didn’t do it, went on and on, cried to multiple C.O.s about it (literally snot everywhere and sobbing). Was in there for a couple weeks I believe. Long story short is that they didn’t have enough to hold him so he was inevitably released... I’ve never seen that happen before based on how much evidence it originally sounded like they had. I’m keeping tabs on the family BTW and looking out for the kids just a side note. But was just strange what seemed like a shoe-in disappeared. I think the people saying don’t show their face come from a more European mindset. In europe you generally trust the police to do their jobs and keep the public out of it. Like the news will still cover it but they shouldn’t reveal any identifying information about the victim or the perpetrators of crimes. Because if the press released an article saying someone is guilty, in the eye of the public, they are guilty. You can’t reverse that statement. But what if they weren’t?

As a survivor of sexual assault, these videos are a little bit of therapy for me. Its wonderful watching grown men put these predators under fire, since usually its women going after them; men in my life pretend it is not an issue. I think that once the predators decided to attempt to assault a minor that they gave up their right to not be blasted on the internet. It's a good thing to have their face out there, as most often they just reoffend.
As a victim of sexual abuse that spanned the ages of 4 to 8, saying that pedophiles can change is one of the most harmful things to say. They can rewrite a victims entire life. I have nightmares nightly, panic attacks, chronic depression and anxiety, I’m terrified everyday that he’s going to hurt me again because he was never arrested. In my eyes rape is worse then murder because I have to live with it for the rest of my life and he didn’t even see a day of jail time for taking my childhood away.

As someone who has been groomed and sexually assaulted at a very young age (3-7), it is completely fine putting the identities and pictures of these predators out in the open. They know what they are doing and how much it can affect the child. They are aware that these are children and that they are easy to manipulate and groom. Even in cases when they seem to be asking, they are aware that a lot of minors will give in under pressure or manipulation making them feel like they are involved when actually they are being abused. Even today I struggle with the level of manipulation and grooming I was put through that I find it difficult to trust others or be myself. I'm grateful that you took on the topic.

No idea why people would feel bad for offenders having their faces and names up on the internet. It's already on national television and all over the internet to find. So yeah. This part of justice is what I like about american system. I'm from Europe and most countries here protect the criminal's identity. Their faces are blurred and we only know their first name and the first letter of their surname when a case is somewhat public. Even if the person was a public person before, like a celebrity, a politic etc, once they offend, the media can't show their faces and names. And it's so dumb. People like that should have their faces plastered all over the internet. No mercy.

That’s what I was thinking. It was all ready on tv, the news, other websites (UA-cam included through the clip being uploaded) so what’s the difference of Ken watching and reacting to it? Nothing.
Not to mention they are on the sexual offender registry which is also public access information. Which is good. It is only when light is shown upon evil that it can no longer hide in the darkness. I have extreme views about anyone who preys on children for the suffering they inflict is irreparable, having been beaten by an ex step dad. My sister used to work at a daycare and found out an offender lived a few houses down. He had been seen walking passed while they were at recess and no one knew who he was. She had to talk to her lawyer friend about how to handle it because there were actually people upset that she had to hang his picture up around the building. That's insane to me. These videos are on the internet, guys. The faces of these predators are ALREADY exposed. A lot of them have Wikipedia pages talking about what they've done and what they've been sentenced to. I, for one, love seeing these clips because not only am I enjoying the hilariousness of Ken and Buff, but I am being educated on who these bastards were and what they've said/done/and or want to do with young children. I never saw To Catch A Predator when it aired on TV but I'm getting to experience it now with two amazing UA-camrs. There's nothing wrong with these videos. Every UA-camr is bound to get criticism REGARDLESS of the material you post. However, you guys need to understand that you should, in no way, shape, or form, feel bad. All of the criminals have already been put out into the world via the show; learning about it, reacting, and making jokes about it is completely harmless. And if you don't think so, maybe you shouldn't be watching the videos. End of story.

Because not all registrants are publically listed in all states, and because even if they are you still have to go out of your way to look it up. Big difference between looking up the list to know who to avoid and putting them on blast cracking jokes and commenting on their frame of mind.

For those shaming them for mocking these offenders, I work in criminal justice and can tell you, these predators never change. If they get out, they will reoffend. Keep your children safe!
Forensic Psychologist here, you know that's not true, otherwise they wouldn't be sentenced to rehabilitation programs as part of their punishment. The majority of offenders, sexual or otherwise, don't go on to reoffend, and attitudes like yours that state that people can't change are harmful to both any offender's chances to successfully rehabilitate (because hey, if you tell people they'll never change, you don't get to be surprised when they make no effort to change) and people's views of the criminal justice system as being exclusively for and geared towards the idea of punishment and retribution instead of rehabilitation. Not every offender is in prison forever, most of them come out at some point and have to be reintegrated into society, and if all they've been told throughout their time in the CJS is that they're monsters who will never change, they're not going to be able to adjust to life outside prison then, and we have failed them. By all means, punish, and there are some predators on the show who I agree are reprehensible and unrepentant monsters who are not going to change (such as Jeff Sokol, the pizza predator), but there are others who can be rehabilitated and have been (such as the undertaker predator), so don't be all "these people are monsters who will never change", because not all of them are, some are just incredibly pathetic and broken men who can make something with their lives given the right treatment, and treatment should be part of the punishment process.
Keep putting these guys on BLAST. There’s been I don’t even know how many guys caught over the years and I believe only a handful of them have ever shown true remorse and made something remotely positive out of themselves. Edit: Michael Lubrano is the closest thing to a decent human being that’s ever been caught on the show.

I know of states that require RSO's to notify people living in a certain area around them and even that's not every state anymore but I've never heard of anywhere that requires them to notify everyone they come in contact with.

Yeah, the you see the notoriety seeking more from terrorists, serial killers, etc. in some countries, the media is starting to avoid referring to terrorist suspects by name, because by definition of their crime they want attention. It doesn’t come up as much (if at all) with predators.

Hurting a child is unforgivable. I‘ve had my fair share of experiences with people like that guy in my life, even dated one. Broken up as soon as I got wind of who he really was. I‘m 26 and it still burdens me. People like that, in my opinion, should never be forgiven. Even if they can change they very possibly ruined an entire child’s life if not multiple. Put them on blast, let everyone know their face so we can keep our children safe.

Showing this stuff is good. We can't know if they've actually changed or not, and if they have, good for them. But spreading awareness about grooming and these types of people is a good cause. Maybe if kids watch your show and see this, or if their parents show it to their kids, it could prevent bad things from happening. And if the offenders have ACTUALLY TRULY changed, and want kids to be safe, they'd probably see that spreading awareness IS a good thing. It does help. My first “long term relationship” (hesitate to call it that) started when I was 15 and he was 23 (wasn’t my first experience with a predator though). Lasted 8 years, and we almost got married. He was s*xually, physically, and emotionally abusive as well. Several times I thought he was going to kill me. So many scary nights. So much time spent training me to think I deserved it, and should be grateful to have him. People seem to feel like it’s not as bad when it’s an older teen + a 20 something year old, but they don’t understand that the type of person going for an older teen is a person looking to own and abuse someone. They specifically target people who are impressionable and easily manipulated, so they can own their entire lives. That’s why they are not seeking relationships with an emotionally stable person in their 20’s. There’s no valid excuse a man can make to choose a high school aged girl, over a college aged girl. None of the typical BS “I like younger women, they’re prettier, less baggage, more youthful, less jaded, etc” works. Date a girl in her 20’s, then! There’s absolutely no reason to be going any younger. If you talk to a high schooler for 10 minutes, anyone will feel like they’re talking to a child. Often, it’s very annoying/superficial to talk to high schoolers lmao. I don’t mean that in a bad way, all kids have to go through the teenage phase when they think they’re more mature/experienced than they actually are. But as an adult, it certainly isn’t attractive unless you have nefarious intentions.
And when I was 17, I met a 16 year old guy. He was ubusing me for years. A girlfriend of mine met a 24 year old when she was 17. They are married, 15 years later with three kids. They r so happy. And hes defenetley not a pedeophile.
My ex was 28 and I was just 18. I thought I must be so cool and mature that he was interested in me. I gave him a lot more grace for bad behavior than a guy my own age would have because I was so wowed by him. We were together for years longer than we should have been. I was so relieved when I finally got out. The most eye opening part was leaving that relationship as an actual adult (mid 20's) and people who were 18 seemed like children to me. Instead of feeling attacted to young adults, I felt protective of them. It made me question how a nearly 30 year old man was interested in an 18 year old without having some type of ulterior motive.

Regarding not “putting these guys on blast”: No. Do put them on blast. Get their face out there for the world to see because they do not stop and they do not change. When I took my abuser to court multiple women came forward who had been abused as children going back years and years. They forfeit their right to privacy when they decide to prey on kids.

A little personal but I feel compelled to share:
I am both entertained and appreciative of these videos. It may sound weird, but I rewatch a good bit of yalls videos on TCAP to help me unnormalize and recognize inappropriate interactions between adults and minors. At the age of 13 I was in a relationship and living with a 22 year old guy. Like lived together, slept in the same bed with my door closed kinda shit. I always thought it was ok and normal, nobody in my life told me otherwise, not even my parents who ALLOWED this man to move in. It wasn’t until my mid 20’s that i realized nothing about that was ok. And I will rewatch these episodes when I start to have the thoughts of “it’s normal” to remind myself that no, this is not normal and it is not ok and that guy I dated was a sick and abusive predator.
So thank you Ken and Dane for unkowningly helping me through my therapy process with these videos. Don’t stop shining a light on these wrongs, and making me laugh with the excitement of them getting tazed!

When I was VERY little I was manipulated and groomed to marry my own father. As soon as I got out of his predatory behaviour he turned verbally abusive instead.. He was only caught last year when he hurt others, nearly 10 years after he hurt me.
I keep telling myself he is a terrible man and a monster, I am filled with rage for what he did to the others and I grieve the childhood I couldn't have, but he had "good days" and those make it SO HARD to hate him.
I miss him a lot, more than I want to admit to my friends and family, so these videos help the logical part of my brain stay grounded and in charge.
No one should care for these predators, it takes knowledge to manipulate and groom a child.
They know what they are doing, it IS intentional and the damage it does is irreversible.
As someone who actually read the entire 400+ pages of chat logs from this guy and the decoy, I know for a fact that this man's face NEEDS to be shown. He is a textbook groomer. Even when the decoy was disinterested and not very responsive, he was constantly messaging her and DM'ing her. When she said she had to get up early for school, he would try to guilt trip her into continuing the conversation. Some of his messages he acted like he was trying to "protect" her from online creeps, then within like 30 minutes, he was trying to tell her how to pleasure herself. He also wound up doing the same thing a couple more times after TCAP.
The lore is deep with this guy. He also scammed a really sweet elderly woman out of a bunch of money. He's just trash.

Anyone who defends a pedo or r*pist is likely one themselves. All preds should be tortured for the rest of their lives, as their victims will mentally suffer from their abuse for their rest of their lives. If they don't get proper therapy they could end up with such severe mental health issues that they pass along that abuse to their kids, or even becomes preds themselves. Pedos most often attack their own family, and it continues generationally. Especially in religious homes where they home-school so the kids don't have a chance to report the abuse to other adults.

I was groomed and then abused from the ages 12 to 14. To the people who say the predators shouldn't be blasted online because this was 15 years ago: the trauma they caused doesn't just go away. I have spent the last 16 years in and out of therapy and while it gets easier to deal with, it never goes away. It doesn't matter if the predator has changed. What they do isn't 'just a mistake', it haunts the victims for the rest of their lives. And I think the show and these two's reaction is a good thing - it might show teens and parents the risks of meeting older dudes online and make them more alert.

It permanently affects your mental wellbeing, feeling of safety, social interactions and often you're not even able to have a healthy romantic and s.. life bc of ptsd. It is a scar for a whole life. For these predos it's just a few moments of ugly pleasure, for a victim it can be even a reason to commit a suicide later.

I think the biggest issue people have with Lorne as far as still harassing him is because he to this day refuses to take responsibility for what he did, he blames nbc, and chris Hansen, and the actress, his sister for not making him Mac and cheese, another sister for not bringing him meatballs, and perverted justice but puts none of it on him, the catfishing tapes didn’t help either because it shows that he’s a horribly abusive pervert who’s insanely controlling plus he’s an alcoholic who mistreats his brother for being one as well. They're called maps, and the only reason I know this is because Twitter seems to be the cesspool that supports them the most. Thank you, lmao. Like, it was literally a show aired on national television with their names and faces. If they didn't want the perpetrators' names and faces, they'd be blurred with fake names. These ppl are shameless anyway. They only show remorse when they get caught if they even do get caught or gaf.
It's super important to put them on blast as much as possible, as the legal system does very little to hold them accountable to registering or informing their communities that they're offenders. Take a look at that psycho pred Jeremy Dewitte. He continuously fails to register as an offender, breaks the law in other crazy ways and gets caught, but still no new charges or punishment for failing to register. He never even did any actual jail time for his pedo charge, like many of the offenders' cases we hear about.
As someone who works in a correctional facility and sees these people up close, these mfs will never change. Most act so entitled and as if the world is owed to them (who the hell knows why). A lot are repeat offenders, so if there’s anything that can be done to discourage this atrocity, like making fun of them on the Internet, (which is the least harmful response possible in comparison to what they’ve done), then I say do it. Also, what you hear is true, the other inmates really hate predators.

Wow I don’t think I’ve ever received this much feedback from a comment before, thanks guys. I still work at the same facility, and the sentiment still stands in jail about inmates hating predators, have watched plenty of fights started over that very thing! I also did see for the first time ever a case this year where an older man was accused of SA his granddaughter and was ultimately let go. Was brought in and charged with a Class A felony. Now he swore he didn’t do it, went on and on, cried to multiple C.O.s about it (literally snot everywhere and sobbing). Was in there for a couple weeks I believe. Long story short is that they didn’t have enough to hold him so he was inevitably released... I’ve never seen that happen before based on how much evidence it originally sounded like they had. I’m keeping tabs on the family BTW and looking out for the kids just a side note. But was just strange what seemed like a shoe-in disappeared. Hope you all have a safe day whenever this comment finds you, and always be aware of your surroundings.

I think the people saying don’t show their face come from a more European mindset. In europe you generally trust the police to do their jobs and keep the public out of it. As someone who has been groomed and sexually assaulted at a very young age (3-7), it is completely fine putting the identities and pictures of these predators out in the open. They know what they are doing and how much it can affect the child. They are aware that these are children and that they are easy to manipulate and groom. Even in cases when they seem to be asking, they are aware that a lot of minors will give in under pressure or manipulation making them feel like they are involved when actually they are being abused. Even today I struggle with the level of manipulation and grooming I was put through that I find it difficult to trust others or be myself. I'm grateful that you took on the topic.

My sister used to work at a daycare and found out an offender lived a few houses down. He had been seen walking passed while they were at recess and no one knew who he was. Because not all registrants are publically listed in all states, and because even if they are you still have to go out of your way to look it up. Big difference between looking up the list to know who to avoid and putting them on blast cracking jokes and commenting on their frame of mind.

Forensic Psychologist here, you know that's not true, otherwise they wouldn't be sentenced to rehabilitation programs as part of their punishment. The majority of offenders, sexual or otherwise, don't go on to reoffend, and attitudes like yours that state that people can't change are harmful to both any offender's chances to successfully rehabilitate (because hey, if you tell people they'll never change, you don't get to be surprised when they make no effort to change) and people's views of the criminal justice system as being exclusively for and geared towards the idea of punishment and retribution instead of rehabilitation. Not every offender is in prison forever, most of them come out at some point and have to be reintegrated into society, and if all they've been told throughout their time in the CJS is that they're monsters who will never change, they're not going to be able to adjust to life outside prison then, and we have failed them. By all means, punish, and there are some predators on the show who I agree are reprehensible and unrepentant monsters who are not going to change (such as Jeff Sokol, the pizza predator), but there are others who can be rehabilitated and have been (such as the undertaker predator), so don't be all "these people are monsters who will never change", because not all of them are, some are just incredibly pathetic and broken men who can make something with their lives given the right treatment, and treatment should be part of the punishment process.

I know of states that require RSO's to notify people living in a certain area around them and even that's not every state anymore but I've never heard of anywhere that requires them to notify everyone they come in contact with.

The only reason I can think of is that some criminals crave notoriety, so it's sort of a thing not to give them what they want. However, I don't think that's the case with these guys. They are rightfully ashamed.
Yeah, the you see the notoriety seeking more from terrorists, serial killers, etc. in some countries, the media is starting to avoid referring to terrorist suspects by name, because by definition of their crime they want attention. It doesn’t come up as much (if at all) with predators.

Hurting a child is unforgivable. I‘ve had my fair share of experiences with people like that guy in my life, even dated one. Broken up as soon as I got wind of who he really was. I‘m 26 and it still burdens me. People like that, in my opinion, should never be forgiven. Even if they can change they very possibly ruined an entire child’s life if not multiple. Put them on blast, let everyone know their face so we can keep our children safe.
People wanting them not to do this as if this show isn't over a decade old and was aired on a major US tv network. I want them to keep it up because I love seeing Buff get so hyped for someone to get tazed.
Showing this stuff is good. We can't know if they've actually changed or not, and if they have, good for them. But spreading awareness about grooming and these types of people is a good cause.
Maybe if kids watch your show and see this, or if their parents show it to their kids, it could prevent bad things from happening.
And if the offenders have ACTUALLY TRULY changed, and want kids to be safe, they'd probably see that spreading awareness IS a good thing. It does help.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I too am a DV survivor and had almost the identical story to yours. I was 17, he was 26 and it almost cost me my life over those following 5 years. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.
My first “long term relationship” (hesitate to call it that) started when I was 15 and he was 23 (wasn’t my first experience with a predator though). Lasted 8 years, and we almost got married. He was s*xually, physically, and emotionally abusive as well. Several times I thought he was going to kill me. So many scary nights. So much time spent training me to think I deserved it, and should be grateful to have him. People seem to feel like it’s not as bad when it’s an older teen + a 20 something year old, but they don’t understand that the type of person going for an older teen is a person looking to own and abuse someone. They specifically target people who are impressionable and easily manipulated, so they can own their entire lives. That’s why they are not seeking relationships with an emotionally stable person in their 20’s. There’s no valid excuse a man can make to choose a high school aged girl, over a college aged girl. None of the typical BS “I like younger women, they’re prettier, less baggage, more youthful, less jaded, etc” works. Date a girl in her 20’s, then! There’s absolutely no reason to be going any younger. If you talk to a high schooler for 10 minutes, anyone will feel like they’re talking to a child. Often, it’s very annoying/superficial to talk to high schoolers lmao. I don’t mean that in a bad way, all kids have to go through the teenage phase when they think they’re more mature/experienced than they actually are. But as an adult, it certainly isn’t attractive unless you have nefarious intentions.
And when I was 17, I met a 16 year old guy. He was ubusing me for years. A girlfriend of mine met a 24 year old when she was 17. They are married, 15 years later with three kids. They r so happy. And hes defenetley not a pedeophile.
My ex was 28 and I was just 18. I thought I must be so cool and mature that he was interested in me. I gave him a lot more grace for bad behavior than a guy my own age would have because I was so wowed by him.
We were together for years longer than we should have been. I was so relieved when I finally got out. The most eye opening part was leaving that relationship as an actual adult (mid 20's) and people who were 18 seemed like children to me. Instead of feeling attacted to young adults, I felt protective of them. It made me question how a nearly 30 year old man was interested in an 18 year old without having some type of ulterior motive.
