That "Slaughter" scene basically shows Jin finally become the Batman of Tsushima. Fear will be his ultimate weapon
Exactly its not him becoming evil it's to signify that he is for all intents and purposes a shinobi now.
He uses fear and theatrics whilst he fights to inspire his allies and induce fear in his enemies.
More like the punisher of Tsushima

The reason behind when Jin Sakai slashes an opponent and the screen appears red is due to a mode called Ghost mode. In the lower right-hand corner, there is a mask gauge that feels up with each kill. Once the gauge is full, the player presses R3 and L3 at the same time. After pressing those two buttons, Jin enters Ghost mode, and the screen turns gray. Jin is then allowed instantly slay opponents. Which causes the screen to turn red for a short duration of time. It has nothing to do with him turning evil. It's just a mode that makes him unstoppable for a short period of time.
i think both are right -- i think the game is also, as the two of them have noted, making a commentary on the impact of Jin's increasing brutality on how his enemies view him, but also to represent a rage he is unleashing at the same time. No spoilers, but it also fits thematically with what we've been watching of his internal turmoil so far.

The battle of Yarikawa is one of the bast parts in the game. You can finally see the mongols cowering before Jin's presence after so many defeats, and the people of Tsushima finally get to feel like they have a chance
I love this game but that scene of Taka got killed was heartbreaking I could feel the Jin’s rage
The scene of Taka being killed is absolutely heartbreaking. Especially with the rage fueled screaming of both Jin and Yuna. I mean I was feeling the same level of bloodthirsty rage Jin was during the siege.
The story hits me in so many ways, I love seeing the uplifting nature of him becoming who he wished he’d been for his dad, like you pointed out, mixed with all the gutting tragedy. Great reaction as always!
This game is a masterpiece… deserves Oscars and so on.

The Ghost was the Antithesis of Shogunate society.
A Japanese Robin Hood, with no King Richard to come to justify him.
The Samurai were like the Overbearing Eastern Robber-Barons that came decades after the pioneers struggle.
They came to strip the common person of their rights, their possession and ability to defend themselves.
What the Samurai called order, was akin to the Gentrifying Safety-Control methods; that we see creeping up now.
With their safety came abuse, and stifling rigid rules that killed happiness by enforced stress.
It is evident that the people who defied this Shogunate rule, fared better than the ones who trusted it!
And those in power never follow their own societal rules; for in history they employed Shinobi as well as Samurai.
About your question at the end:
When I got to Taka’s death, though I did have the time to think about it, you’re right about it being even more brutal. The role-playing element and spending so much more time with the characters makes everything hit harder

My favorite technique in the game! The Ghost Stance! This is the technique you two saw the player did earlier in previous reactions. You unlock it here! 🙏🏽💪
Its a skill called "the ghost stance", so there are several different stance in ghost of tsushima, this stance is a special stance, bcs u can scare ur enemy with killing their leader or commander, and this skill have time limit, it depends on ur upgrade for each skill, if u fighting longer without getting wounded or harm then ur ghost stance will upgrade, cmiiw
yeah I love Jin Character but his uncle is right, Samurai always fight with honor even if it means death, while the philosophy of Jin is more a like of a Shinobi, there's no honor in their actions eveything is permited in order to kill
That's why in my opinion has much as I like Jin he isn't fit to rule the lands with such moral code he doesn't inspire Law and Honor, he just makes people believe if they fight they can survive another day
This is the smartest and most logical comment ever in the history of the ghost of tsushima. Unlike all the other comments which are short sighted and either cant or wont use any smarts or logic

To be fair, Jin didnt put Taka at risk. He put himself at risk. Taka wasnt going back no matter how much Jin demanded he not help.
Taka didn't have any real regrets either. Well, maybe one, which we never got to hear him finish, but it wasn't about helping Jin. He wanted to be brave, and strong, like the Ghost. He knew when he looked at Jin what he was going to do, and he probably knew he'd die, but he did it anyway. Yuna's reaction was a knee jerk reaction which she regretted moments later. She was just in the moment, mourning her brother.
@@thedarkstarr11 She knew her brother would get himself into trouble and needed someone to watch out for him. Sure enough, he did, and she wasn't there. You can say it was his choice, but she's the one who has to live with it.

If this video doesn't have the important side Tales from the game y'all should find one for them. The conclusions to all of the side missions with the big hitters (Lady No Chill and The archer for example) are just as important to see even after you've finished the main story

I don’t like how the player is completely random with their choice of outfits for Jin for New Game Plus, the moment he gets the Sakai armor is ruined because the player keeps wearing it WAY before Jin should get it. And having him wear the Ghost armor before the siege of Castle Shimura ruins its appearance when Jin fully embraces his identity as The Ghost.
Does Gamer’s Little Playground not know what continuity is?
Not to mention the ghost armor from Taka

Writing Haiku’s, following foxes, and visiting hot springs are one of the things that expand the game and are not shown in the cinematic.
I'm kind of glad they skipped the haiku. Almost all of them are TERRIBLE. I wish they had hired someone better to write them.
My headcanon for Jin is that he's actually a pretty basic dudebro, and he sucks at poetry - but he doesn't know it. So he sits at all these haiku spots taking in the scenery and writing poems because he figures that's what samurai do, and no one is there to tell him they're trash. XD

36:40 I don't think Jin was at fault here. It's really Taka. However, I understand he was trying to be brave, but it was a huge risk since he doesn't have combat experience. Jin understands and respects Yuna that she doesn't want Taka in any combat situation, so he made the right decision by telling him to head back to camp as soon as he distracts the guards.
10:44 You're one of the few people who actually make that observation when playing games in which heavy armor is present, because oftentimes it only defines how many hits the enemy can take.
Unfortunately, well made, expensive armor doesn't make you slow. It does however limit your mobility and field of vision; a small price to pay for near invincibility.
But yes, in real life a katana would probably have lots of trouble to deal with this Mongol; the few week spots are probably covered by mail, which can't be cut and is hard to pierce. Best option against this enemy is pinning him down and delivering a precise thrust through the opening in his face. Alternatively you could also cut his fingers and incapacitate his hands, then go for the kill.
13:06 what you're seeing is ghost mode would it is basically like Spartan rage mode in God of war it's just the mode to you know take down your enemies faster and quicker and make them more frightened of you it's nothing storywise as nothing to do with story or nothing it's not making him evil or anything like that it's just a feature in a game you got to remember that this is a game it's just a cool feature that they put in the game called ghost mode

Ghost of Tsushima is without a doubt my favourite game of all time but Lord Shimura’s (Jin’s uncle) honour code is way too extreme and makes no sense, it’s the game's one flaw. According to Jin's uncle's code, a bow is an unhonorable weapon and laying an ambush like Ishikawa (the bow master SAMURAI) teaches Jin, is an act of a coward. If it were just that Lord Shimura personally thought that you should look someone in the eye when killing them and is disappointed in the path Jin is taking it would be one thing, but saying it’s against the samurai honour code to take out your enemy quietly is ridiculous.
