Just a suggestion, you guys should add the "whoosh" sound effects when pictures and videos are shown so that us audio listeners can quickly pull out our phones to have a look at the things you guys are talking about
that's a really good idea..i listen to the podcast at work while doing other things, i have my main software (photoshop, indesign, lightroom etc.) on one screen and the podcast on one of the other 2 screens..a subtle "whoosh" would be a really cool notification
That's a great idea
This would be very good
I agree
I don't see why it would help with that, but it wouldn't be a bad thing if they did add it so. My complaint is the images didn't remain on screen long enough. I had to go back and pause because the conversation about the pic wasn't over but the pic was gone.
Anyone else slightly bothered by them showing the pics of the cars when they start talking about them but then the whole time they are going into details the image is not up. Maybe it's just me and I do not have photographic memory. If they do something similar in the future I would appreciate a PIP showing the pictures they are talking about. I understand you don't just want the static picture of the car while the hosts are talking off camera, but I think a good compromise would be to do both with an always on top PIP of car and then background cut between whatever shots of the hosts you like. Gripes aside love the podcast.
I absolutely wholeheartedly agree
Great feedback! Will keep this in mind if we so something like this again!
Totally agree. Sat here listening to the comments and no idea what it relates to. On that basis, I'm off to watch Savage Geese!
I think it's related to copyrights rules and to avoid any issues with UA-cam
I think the editing in this is the best out of any video podcast I watch! but I agree, PIP is a good idea
Should've kept the images of the cars on screen for longer when they were talking about them
Yes, was going to post the same. Maybe have an inset with Marques/Andrew, but keep the pic of the car up!
1000% agree
@@14Mechatronics yep 100% should be side by side
Another Friday saved by waveform. I just want you guys to know, we listen to you, we follow you , we love you
Init, fam
I am retired now… but these stories remind me of “the good old days”
What is really annoying is when you fix the problem… but then forget how it was fixed
So then the problem comes up again in one year and you are screwed
Or sometimes, the problem gets fixed and you are never s7re exactly what was going wrong or how it was fixed
I live in Detroit so it’s actually pretty interesting because you will see a lightning occasionally, most of the time it’s a ford employee. But I have seen one Silverado EV and it looks much better in person than the photos. I’ve also seen a couple of Hummer EVs
Just a note about browsers on iOS, Apple actually prevents developers from adding custom browser engines, forcing all apps to use essentially a reskinned Safari. This includes Chrome and Firefox.
This essentially means your website has to work for Safari if you have a decent proportion of iOS users, even if they don’t use the Safari app.
@@hollyc5417 Firefox isn’t, but also there are still other nuances between chrome and safari on other platforms that iOS misses out on
Thank goodness for this new chapters feature. Skipped past the EV talk. Ugh.
Love this podcast. Thanks guys!
I really love edge for studying it has a lot of in built features that makes it a must.
So much great content in this episode. I have been watching every episode and have listened to you guys talk about trying to figure out how to use shorts. I know you add the clips stuff afterwards but have you ever considered using shorts as a mini trailer? It would be so cool to get a sneak peak on a Wednesday for example and I’m sure it would drive more viewership on UA-cam for the video version!
I see a good amount of ID.4's here in the SoCal region. Might be more common than Mach-E in my general experience.
Yay, a Waveform episode!
Great ep. as always. DeLorean should get an award for designing the most impractical doors ever.
*laughs in model y*
Just the fact that the Tesla chargers are on the wrong side is all the information you need. That’s literally a day one basic engineering decision. and now we have all these people parked the wrong way on the streets with wires all over the sidewalks. But it’s cool, they’re saving the planet…..
Don't be hard on yourself. It's a podcast episode. You did well. You can indeed let Adam go on vacation again. I got you Adam!
I am in love with the blue themed mkbhd!
marques and andrew being silent @1:23
me:(looking at their faces)🙂😀😂🤣
I live in Colorado Springs and I think I have seen a total of 8 Rivians in the past 3 months! Always cool to see them
Internet Explorer joined the 27 club... dang I wish I was that cool.
Underrated comment 💯
The Delorian is if, “hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave,” was a car.
I've seen a Rivian on the road and it was really cool to see
Would love to see you guys review the maverick!
I swear y'all need to make a new podcast for EV's
If you guys haven't already, you guys should look into Aptera. The car looks pretty trippy, but it is supposed to start shipping this year or early next year. They have specs, price, range and all that jazz.
I from brazil, i like this podcast
Hey guys love the podcast however just a bit of constructive criticism, when you guys are talking about the design of the cars it'd be nice if you kept the picture on screen where the waveform logo is so we can see what you guys are talking about but can also see you. Thanks!
actually Mercedes Benz recall A LOT of their cars from a really long period of time around the world bc some problems.
5$ a gallon is literally half of what we pay for gas in Sweden. And Diesel is even more expensive.
I remember when you had to get an IE disc separately and install it. Crazy.
the pivot point makes all the difference on the Delores door it will extend no further from the tie of the car in ints arc then your door would if you were to open a traditional one.
bacon Feb coming back from San Diego CA there were like 10 Rivians in a line passing me. It was wild.
Insightful 🚀
2:31 my school ONLY allowed Internet Explorer
So fun editing story recently. Color Finale broke with on Final Cut 16.2.1. The color correction tool in the mKBHD on motion VFX came in super clutch for a month as they put out a fix. Saved me big time! Thanks for that plugin!
Sorry MKBHD didn’t read this nor does he care. But I did give your comment a thumbs down.
Seen a few F-150 Lightenings up here in Ottawa. Even saw a pre-release one a few months back
Regarding Recalls, if a car does not have recalls, that’s more of a problem then it not having any. Recalls are how manufacturers notice and fix issues with their products. If there are no recalls, it probably just means that no one has found them yet, or someone is keeping them quiet.
There's a recall in Australia atm for the EV6 due to a software issue with the park brake coming off when the car is off
I’m surprised to not see the Nissan Leaf either on this list or even discussed. In my town you can’t drive a mile without seeing multiple Leafs
I live 30 minutes from the Rivian factory and a saw a transporter full of them. They are out there.
Should have kept the car photos on screen when dissecting the designs
10:10 I went crazy and straight up quit Premier over one project with crackling audio, now I want to dig through my old files and see if this fix would work on it.
R.i.p IE ,We will always remember you for for being the best browser downloader
Ice cold.
"If" the Delorean keeps the doors as they are, who do you think the practicality of it will be to pull up and charge in the real world. I know some public chargers might not have enough space to open the door and charge if you park next to someone or if the charger is on your right. Just curious what you guys think. Obviously will need to be tested in the real world. Great video
I was listening to audio only and then came to this video to watch the EV section to see what they were talking about only to find out that the video doesn’t show the pictures for the most part.
Question for anyone who knows: why are they editing in two different programs? Premiere pro then final cut?
There is some crackling in this episode as well
It's so weird that i thought march 17th as well like 20 seconds before. Got spooked when Andrew said it 😂
Rest in peace IE. You will forever be the best chrome downloader.
That hurts to the bottom of heart 😂
Love the Delorean look tbh
The recalls that are just software bugs or even features like Tesla’s boombox being treated as these “critical safety recalls” that affect “millions of vehicles” bug me
I hope you're able to get over it one day.
Yeh I was guessing the IE launch year based on the fact that I (think I) remember it coming with Windows 95.
I understand the point and I agree with it but I do think it’s worth pointing out that the Mach-e is also on that top 10 list. Which actually brings the fully electric count to 5/10. I think that’s pretty interesting and it also speaks to Ford’s ability to make a couple of pretty highly sought after cars despite the lack of supercharger network. I think it’s a matter of time before another traditional manufacturer breaks into that list. Like if Honda or Toyota actually took this seriously, I think they could crush as well.
I immediately thought the Blaver EV looked like the Urus
This might sound silly depending on your process, but as someone who's been a sound engineer before, the crackling issue sounds like the audio clipping in the workflow. To give you context, most DAWs work on 64 bit, however the audio is generally exported at 24 or 16 bit. This means you can generally go to a higher decibel while working on the sound in the DAW without hearing the clipping, but when you export the sound you'll hear it because of the lower bit rate headroom.
This would explain why it clipped in premier but not in FCP, assuming FCP is better at handling audio headroom, and why it clipped again when you exported from FCP again.
Putting a limiter on the master channel in the DAW should fix it, if it is this! Otherwise if you already thought of this please ignore me!
Hope this helps.
These guys didn't even mention that Blazer front grill is exclusive to the top trim SS model. The lower trim levels have a more toned down body-colored grill.
You pronounced Toronto without the second 't', non-Torontoians usually don't say it right! I'm impressed
BRUH
i thought y’all were gonna say Elon Musk passed away or something.
Over here talking about Internet Explorer 😂👏
The Aptera is my #1 EV and really the only EV I am considering.
What time can I find the trivia audio?
@22:00 please show us the image you're talking about! i know you showed it before, but it would be really helpful to see it while you're commenting on it. love you guys!
I wonder why there aren't any podcast apps with chapter support.
Pocket Casts
Hey Team,
I like your sponsored content and it would be better if you put the links in your description so that it would be easy for people like me.
Cheers!
Blazer is a huge missed opportunity. We’ve seen that people absolutely LOVE the retro cars. They could have so many buyers if they did an awesome cool retro blazer refresh.
Wow, I feel old now. I used both Mosaic and Netscape and remember the birth of IE.
The first web browser I used was Internet Explorer in 2004 on Windows XP
What is the browser that you use?
The Chevy definitely took design inspo from the Lamborghini Urus
I was so disappointed by the front end of the DeLorean. It’s so round. I know with modern designs right now it would have been risky to really lean into the retro, boxy look that the old one is known for, but if any car could do it and sell gangbusters, it would be this one. Not that I was ever going to be able to afford one anyway!
WHOOOOOO new wvfrm!
have fun at mark rober's new secret lab marques? 😁👊
BYD is coming to the next CES. Time to start talking about well made, well performing & affordable EV's. *& Chinese EV's. (reviewing Wheel's Boy & Eliot of Fully Charged China can help).
looking forward to hear about "Nothing phone 1" from you guys
I with Yall covered more VR/AR/MR news :(
The front of the delorean looking like a Ford probe 😳
How many years have you not used IE anymore? But I think we all used it years ago ... A piece of history 😊
I’ve had things like having the computer running on battery vs plugged in cause odd export issues.
didnt notice the crackling last episode weird
EVs you see the most where I live is
1. Model 3
2. Renault Zoe
3. Fiat 500
Awesome podcast
$5/gallon sounds amazing, I’m from Cali
Surprised no one mentioned the EQS at all.
First time being so early to a video from MKBHD lol
I am paying around £2 a litre for diesel in Oxford or about $2.8 per litre of about $10+ a galon
We smoking 🚬 that explorer pack and it chocking me😅
I've seen way more audi etrons than some of the ones you guys mentioned.
i think there's a canvas with a wooden frame behind you if you need to knock on wood!
I see a lot of VW ID.4s in Northern VA, tons of Teslas
More people need to use a non-chromium browser. Don’t let google control the web. Firefox is a great option
Google doesn't own Chromium, they own Google Chrome
@@coolzulu4178 chromium is open source but still a Google project maintained by Google
@@keco185 which means they don't make money off of it, right?
@@coolzulu4178 it means they control the technologies the web gets to use. They decide which standards get adopted and which fail. It’s about control not money. If a web technology means they’ll lose money (say something that increases anonymity or reduces the ability for google to track you across sites) they won’t support it and it will never take off. Conversely, they can support tracking technologies that none of their advertising competition could utilize because of Google’s market positioning
Same for mobile operating systems. We need a 3rd and 4th. Not just android skins but full blown alternative mobile OS. Currently it’s a duopoly with apple and google and duopolies are never good.
It’s funny they talk about all these EVs they see the only ones I have seen and noticed in Denver, CO are teslas
And more comedy can make this show explode
I’m waiting for my 2023 Polestar 2 to be delivered later this year, but man am I tempted to wait till 2024 for the polestar 5…
How about adding pictures of the cars/products you are talking about in the middle where the logo is so we can see what you guys are talking about.
5 dollars a gallon is 1.31 dollars per litre. So converted to euro its just 1.24/litre thats 2010 prices in germany.
Hey Marques , Please make a video Review of Sony WF - 1000XM4 Earbuds
50:00 You could like look for exhaust...
Here in the Netherlands EVs are very popular these last years. There is a lot of choice. Some well known models in the US like the model 3, VW ID 4 or its brother the Skoda enyaq and the ioniq 5 of EV6 But also smaller EVs that are less well known at the other side of the ocean. Like the peugeot e208 or e2008, the renault zoe and the cupra born or VW ID3. Allways feel like in the US, rapid charging is an issue apart from Tesla. That is not the case here. You can charge other EVs at some tesla supercharges but we have a large amount of none Tesla fast charging stations. Something to keep in mind when reviewing an EV.
53:34 That's basically Electrek.
What is up with that Chevy EV. The back end looks like someone attached something to the end of a Hatchback. I have never seen a quarter glass in between two other glass panels like that.
In California gas prices are around $6.50 to $8
At first glance it looks like a Urus but side by side it looks more like a Camaro SS
