Love this!!! I gained an understanding of the value of training in boot. We were doing nuke drills, and day long the DS would say BOOM and we’d all drop and assume the position. Then the DS would say the blast has past and the debris has stop falling, recover, and we’d all get up and do it again. Well at the end of that evolution they had a surprise. We didn’t know but they had pyro set up as well as being wired for sound. They popped off the big bright blast with a earth rumbling roar from the sound system and the whole company hit the deck instinctively. I learned the value of training that day and never thought of it as just repetition again.
I can attest to the visual slow down of the action. When the human body has a massive surge of adrenalin it thinks so fast that it slows down the action to be able to ascertain what is going on to survive. So basically it is the instinct to survive. Which they teach seals. This man is an asset to all American people that are alive today. Nothing but respect towards he and all his team.
I’ve sort of been curious about that actually. It seems odd that time can actually slow down for people. It’s just weird to think about two people perceiving the same events at different speeds because of adrenaline. The human body is a weird thing.
@@hewhoderps4362 from what I have heard(I'm pretty sure it's true), your perception is based off of(or at least correlates to) the speed of your metabolism. So if you have a high metabolism, you will see stuff in a slower speed vs if you have a low metabolism. It would make sense evolutionarily so that bugs didnt have a sensory overload when they were flying fast and sloths wouldnt waste their energy on information that they cant even react to in time. Also this might partially explain why when you're young time seems to go way slower than when you're older.(especially between being a preteen vs pubescent) This part is entirely speculation, but I'm pretty sure adrenaline increases your metabolism significantly in a short period of time, so if all of the shit I've just said is true, that would check out. It isn't like people are lying when they say time seems to slow down when something crazy happens. There has to be some chemistry behind it
God bless you Mike Day, I know you have been through a lot, I have watched long podcast with you, you have been through a lot as a child & your father. God bless you sir, and thank you so much for your service that is saving America.
Wow, thank you for your service Mike. I remember some my old Vietnam buddies when you asked them about something that was a rough time, they always say "Man, it don't mean nuthin' ". Guy told me of being a door gunner and situation was so bad when they luckily made it back the Huey had 128 bullet holes, just never hit the engine or transmission and he got in trouble for almost melting his barrel. I know that this had to be a very traumatizing event for him, I know I would be traumatized. But, I agree with you that they should make a movie about him, but not just about that experience. But also about the other things that he's experienced in his life, perhaps from his childhood to what his life is like today. I would definitely watch it. His strength, both physically and mentally; his courage; his humility; his will to survive, and the fact that even with 27 bullets wounds and shrapnel from the grenade, he actually WALKED TO THE EVAC HELICOPTER, IS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE thing I have ever heard of. The fact that he's still here speaks volumes about the kind of man he is. He seems to be very humble, and he doesn't seem to think that he is a hero. But, I must say, he is one of the greatest heroes to have ever served in our armed forces. I have MAJOR RESPECT for him. I pray that he gets to enjoy peace, love, light, and happiness for all the days of his life.

Mission: Take out al Qaida that shot down 4 helicopters.
Transport Vehichle: Helicopter
Helicopters don’t hit IEDs
If it sounds utterly insane it’s most likely SOP and in the manual. 🙃
They dropped four clicks away from the objective
Exactly my thought..
Space Force wouldn’t lend them a shuttle
Thanks so much for your service!!
Thank you for your service sir and glad you made it back home.
Also this might partially explain why when you're young time seems to go way slower than when you're older.(especially between being a preteen vs pubescent)
This part is entirely speculation, but I'm pretty sure adrenaline increases your metabolism significantly in a short period of time, so if all of the shit I've just said is true, that would check out.
It isn't like people are lying when they say time seems to slow down when something crazy happens. There has to be some chemistry behind it
@@hewhoderps4362 you'd have to look into it to verify what I just said, but it makes sense to me and I'm pretty sure it's the case in real life.
@@ChickentNug guess I better run a few more days a week then lol. Gotta keep that metabolism up.
A true, humble, hero who never gave up on his team or country... much respect sir.
Thank you ... For your service greatly appreciated
God blessed this man, so he could serve us.
Thank you Mike.
God bless you Mike Day, I know you have been through a lot, I have watched long podcast with you, you have been through a lot as a child & your father. God bless you sir, and thank you so much for your service that is saving America.
Guy just took his own life recently. Damn shame. Guy was a warrior.
There are those that have sacrificed so much that we can have our freedom, like yourself. It does mean something to those that know. Thank you and God bless you.
JUST finished listening to his book yesterday.. AMAZING man with an incredible story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May God bless you, Mike Day.
& all those like you.
Thank you for your service and dedication to your country.
Thank you for your continued service.
So he's the guy that killed me on black ops 4
Who hasn't killed you?
He's the reason I stopped playing war zone
He’s the guy that kills everyone
He's the guy that spawn kills you as soon as you enter the room....fucked up thing is, he doesn't even own the game.
WOW 😯 talk about protected or what!?!
Some people are very protected, and when you know who is protecting you, and what he has done. You are ready for action and courageous, bold beyond measure.
god is good
Thank you for your service, sir.
Thank you for your incredible service.
Such little views, this deserves more.
But change the background music.
agree
Play whatever music you want sir, I will adapt if it's not my normal cup of tea. If you served you are in charge lol
Small minded problem for you
This guy, like so many of SpecOps, is HARD CORE!
Thank you very much for your service.
Thank you for your service and may God bless you and give you a long life 🙏🙏🙏
RIP sad to hear he took his own life.

He's full of it.
Shot 27 times and still neutralises all enemy’s are you fucking joking what a beast !!!
RIP brother. Hurts to hear of your death. You were an incredible person and you served this nation so well. Too good a man to lose over mental health - get help guys if you need that. I struggle with doing that too but get help
50 cent left the chat
Everyone crying about the background music must have the attention span of a 7 year old. Not once did I even notice the background music cause I was busy listening to the man tell his story.
Good for you bro
@just me not as distracting as you make it seem. Maybe you should see if you have some kind of attention disorder if that music is "really distracting".
Damn straight!
There's a medal in the mail for you Chris
L M not being a bitch medal
You when feel down… look at yourself in the mirror.. and remember what this hero must have gone through. It’s people this that inspire me to keep going and keep fighting. People like this deserve to be recognised and rewarded..
You fucking hero and legend .
Amazing story you SEAL's are the tip of the spear I'm glad y'all do what you do. I loved serving in the Navy I'll never know if I was tough enough to do make it through even buds but I sure have a lot of respect for those of you that did including my friend Michael Bearden may he rest in peace...
Please tell me there is a movie or a documentary he totally deserves it
I know that this had to be a very traumatizing event for him, I know I would be traumatized.
Mr Hansen thanks 🙏🏻 alot
He has a book out.
Oh, man! Can you believe this guy? The very BEST of the best. Thank you sir for all you did, and continue to do.
One tuff son of a gun, thanks for your service and glade you were able to survive that many times
