I am a former USAF Combat Search and Rescue Flight Engineer who used the call sign Pedro in Afghanistan - I don't personally know the crew who casevac'd you out, but I can tell you they were not leaving without you. The PJ's truly are the best at what they do, but if we get shot down no one gets saved. It's great to hear you made it home, and the boys (and girls) are continuing the rich legacy of Air Force Combat Search and Rescue.

Mr.ballen is good storyteller. I wonder if thats something he practices. Not many people can hold and command attention these days

Being grievously shot and clinging to life is so horribly nightmarish. I had to do self care until I got into formal medical treatment, fully conscious the whole time trying not to bleed out. I remember screaming at God that I wasn't ready to die, not yet. I hung on and he let me live but I had to fight to stay alive, not knowing if each breath would be my last. To put it in perspective, I survived being shot in the head, gruesome injury but I lived, HOOAH!

Finally, Shawn has a SEAL on his show telling us the unembellished truth about an engagement.

It’s kinda wild seeing how big he is now. I remember seeing some of his first uploads and not wondering if I’d like the dude the way he talked to the camera. Long story short he started to play in the background while I did things 😂

He is a good man. Not really sure why his own team hates him. Success, found his calling in life, broke some illusionary code that for some its okay to break it and for others not so much?

  • @davefabian2942

No average civilian can ever imagine what these young men went through, god bless and thank you 🇺🇸

  • @tocsa120ls

The crossover we didn't know we needed.

  • @PennelopeWhitmore

Hes a story teller that just happened to be a Navy Seal. I think Mr. Ballen is a good guy no matter what anybody thinks.

  • @bigpicklerick

Im glad Shawn gave Mr B an interview he has a story worth sharing.

  • @Quesoverga

This is one of those totally campfire or fireplace winter story time stories. 2 completely chill demeanor seals. Both very talented at getting events articulated with enthusiasm.

Thanks for your service Mr. Ballen.

Mr. Ballen is a great speaker and story teller. Never knew he was a SEAL. This is a great clip. The person he talked about that was so concussed he couldn't speak, I wrote a biography for my friends grandfather about a decade ago. In our interviews, he told me during the infamous "battle of the bulge," he was in a foxhole and an artillery shell exploded next to him and basically the same thing happened to him. Can't imagine that feeling. In Ballen's story, it's just a small grenade, and it still did that.

One of the best story tellers ever!

  • @GUNNER67akaKelt

    That effect is called

  • @unclechaw1894

He’s such a good storyteller. It’s easy to picture what he’s talking about.

Love Mr. Ballen. Found him when he was just starting UA-cam and got hooked on his stories.

I have watched mrballen for years now. His ability to tell a story is remarkable. Was unaware of this story/part of his service history. I for one, am grateful mrballen is still with us. Thankyou for sharing this story with us Shawn. Incredible stories from both of you. I think it is very important work you two do. Absolute highest respect for both of you, and all service men and women current and relieved. My Aunt is a retired col U.S. army. My Great uncle Irwin Lord was a marine, recieved every ww2 medal there is in existsnce except 1 ,with the "v" device and died at 19 yrs old 2 weeks before the war ended. Both are my heroes. Had I the ability to do so, I would trade my life without a second thought so that Irwin could have his, and I never met him or knew him, but KNOW his life was more impactful and important. I love you all.

Strange dark and mysterious legend right here. Me and my wife throw you on when we are too tired to look for something. “ hey babe , you wanna watch ballin”. Then we get into the intro music and all. Keep it up good man. Thank you for your service
