They sang this in the same key that the original artist (CAM, female country artist) performed it, so yes, it is a "high key". The hero of this performance is Adam Rupp, the human drum kit.
This is why What the Foust is a favorite saying. Wait till you hear Tim will you still love me tomorrow/Stay! Tim’s range is ridiculous. The guy with the biggest range in Home Free is actually Adam Rupp a favorite tenor! His range is insane! 🤯
Chance was the bass in his former a cappella group, Street Corner Symphony. He often covers the bass when Tim carries the lead, but like them all, he can sing tenor, too! It is said that Home Free has 5 tenors, 2 basses, and 1 master percussionist. But, wow! Loved your reaction!
If y'all want more of Chance, check out "Cover Me Up", "I Can't Outrun You", or one of his solos like "If I Could Only Fly" Your reactions were awesome❤❤
The original was by Cam, who is a female and probably weighs about 95 pounds. The guys decided to sing the cover in the same key she had used. That's why they are all so high!
I need to hit the dictionary because I'm out of superlative adjectives to describe these guys and their crazy talent and skill. I'm convinced that there isn't anything musical they can't do if they set their mind to it. It's a happy miracle that these particular 5 guys found their way together. All so unique and all so gifted. It was written in the stars and we are the lucky recipients of their talent and hard work! Thanks for another great reaction.
If you like Tim here, go catch his solo work on "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow". Memory fails me, have you done either "My Church" or "Do You Hear What I Hear" yet ?
Good reaction! Watching two reactors, one who's never heard Mayday and one who's had was fun! One of the (many) reasons I like HF is the vocal range of each member -- just mind-blowing. And, of course, Adam's beat boxing is again stellar.
Yes, a song with surprises. Tim who goes tenor, Austin and Rob who also hit different notes than usual, the inhuman vocal percussion and as a great end to the surprises the incredible bass of Chance. Simply fabulous Home Free the number 1 !!!!❤
As you say ,they are very talented.don’t forget that Adam ( beatboxer ) hits the super low notes too,it’s not always noticed it’s easy to forget it’s his voice not a machine !
Chance is actually a bass and sang bass in his last group. But Home Free needed a baritone and had already Tim as a bass. So Chance took the baritone and covers the bass when Tim does something else (non bass lead, or tenor or whatever else)
Have either of you checked out Tim Foust solo album “Pieces of Me”? You really get a good idea of his true range. Take a look at “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay off his album!
This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.
It is always fun to see people find this song after a while. Tim and Chance do a great job with their ranges. Adam is amazing and Austin and Rob also good. Angela Mason mentioned a song of Tim's on his album...Pieces of Me...has several songs on youtube...and as suggested...Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay...is really good...All just Tim. Thanks guys.
Chance USED to be the Bass in his previous group....he is a Baritone/Bass but can also sing Tenor...he covers the bass line when Tim takes lead. So basically, you have 5 tenors, 2 basses and 2 baritones. 😃
Ummmm -- Ummmm .......... 3 Bass', *4 Baritone's, 5 Tenor's, & 5 Beatboxers !!! *Rob isn't full range baritone but makes up for that as pro-grade whistler. Austin also has the nomonica! I'd wager that each can yodel too!!! :)
@Rod Conner LOL Not only were they all yodeling in "Thank God I'm a Country Boy", but they were HARMONIZING with Austin while yodeling!! 😳🤯👍 That's so awesome! ❤
I hope you boys get to go see them one day, they are so good, and they play with the audience.Makes everyone one feel we are all just good friends. They normally play in smaller venues, so its more personal. Seen them 3 times, tickets were only 30.00 dollars. Also if you like Tims range, look up Tim Foust Music, he got some crazy songs with crazy ranges
So much versatility in this group, it's astounding. Tim can actually pop it up another octave or so, too, than he does here. But what really gets me about him is the vocal agility he has in all of his registers. Basses aren't usually able to, one, produce such a clear tone way down there and, two, do clean runs in all registers. Check out Stay/Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow on his solo album if you haven't yet. It's like a vocal gymnastics routine, and he nails it. Thanks for the reaction!
This has been one of my favorites since the very first time I heard it. Home Free singing Mayday is truly an experience, & I absolutely loved watching both of your faces!! I highly recommend watching their behind the scenes of this video, it was recently released to the public, it's called "From the Vault Episode 19 (Mayday)" 🍟❤️
Loved your reaction! This is one of my favorite song to watch reactions on especially if the reactors wait til they get to know all the guys first! More Home Free please!
"May Day" is favorite Home Free song cover. Please also check out VoicePlay. Another acapella group who was on same season of "Sing Off" as Home Free. Great friends with Home Free and has even assisted with song arrangements for HF. VoicePlay are the "Theater Kids" of acapella. Based out of Orlando, Florida. The Bass singer is Geoff Castellucci, vocal percussion/beat boxer is Layne Stein, Baritone/Tenor is Cesar De La Rosa, tenor is Eli (pronounced like el-lee, not Ee-lye) Jacobson. They are down to four permanent members, and add guests/friends to take 5th featured spot. Their most recent video is a cover of "Valhalla Calling by Miracle of Sound. Think Vikings. The costumes, make up, background setting are all top notch.
Want to see a Home Free live performance, not made with a cell phone? They performed live on Australia's Studio 10, singing one of their original songs from their new album, "Road Sweet Road". Chance covers the bass in this one. It's amazing. Haven't seen many reactions to this and it's a shame. Love the show, keep up the great work.
Chance and Tim switched it up! Tim had an amazing tenor voice and Change has an amazing bass voice!! They can do anything! One od many HF masterpieces!
Us Fries 🍟 really love when newbies see Mayday!! It's a work of art, like Man of Constant Sorrow. Masterpiece! Your smiles 😃 say it all -- these guys can do whatever they want, pitch perfect 🥰
Hi From close-by in Pennsylvania. You have to see them in concert they will rock your world. I was lucky enough to see them in Reading Pa. Tim was the mc and was funny and down to earth. Interacting with all of us and the music was i think better on some songs than the video. Adam even did his drum solo oh wow. What a night. They are all so humble and down to earth guys who Love their Home Fries. They make you feel like it is one big family party.
You may now proceed on to Tim and Austin singing My Maria, and Tim's solo Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. It's a whole separate room in the rabbit hole.
They chose to sing this in its original key as sung by Cam, a female country singer. Just proves their lack of having a female in the group is no detriment--they just let their BASS handle it! 🤣 LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
One of my favorites of theirs. Yes, they are all amazing. This shows the switcheroo with Tim going high and Chance going low. Tim has a 5 octave range and he was showing a little bit of that in this song. You’re right, he’s usually in the basement but can go to the attic and then when he speaks he’s back in the basement. HA! In concerts, his voice goes through you. Try I Can’t Outrun You, In the Blood, Helplessly Hoping.
Love that RCA dog head tilt 5 seconds into the song 😂 Have you listened to Tim and Austin singing My Maria? Now I'm imagining the HF guys as characters on 3rd Rock From The Sun...😊
Front row Rob Lundquist lead tenor. Tim Foust bass, with a 5 octave range. Austin sky high tenor. Back row Adam Rupp beatboxer and Adam Chance (Chance) baritone but he is actually a bass. Infact his last group was called Street Corner Symphony and he was the bass. His group actually got second place on season 2 of The Sing Off. Truly enjoyed watching your reactions to this song.
I don't know if you've seen Home Free's rendition of "When a Man Loves a Woman" or Rob & Austin's duet "Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera (on Austin Brown's channel) - both mind-blowers. Love your channel!
They sang this in the same key Cam used. Not bad for a bunch of guys! Chance was the bass singer in his former group Street Corner Symphony. Tim has a solo album called Pieces of Me, a doo-wop album, and it really shows off his fantastic range.
Austin Is a high tenor…one AMAZING singer…one Talented young man 🔥🙃❤️‼️ Chance fills in for Tim when he’s the lead ! ….. Yes, they don’t drink like they used to…Tim loves Sweet Tea 🙃❤️‼️
Chance carries the bass whenever Tim sings. In American Pie, the two exchanged roles seamlessly. Tim carried the bass, when he sang, Chance was the bass, then Tim took over again when he had finished his solo.
Hey fellas. Got a video i‘d like you guys to react it‘s called ‘Does your flag fail? - CGP Grey grades the state flags’ y’all will love his review of Maryland’s..
Now you've been introduced to a little bit of what Chance can do. Watch Chance and Tim in Brothers In Arms, Dire Straits cover 😊
Chance is the most underrated artist in the group. He also does a hell of a job on Hillbilly Bone...
Great Reaction, Love Home Free
Chance is The Flexibility Adam Rupp is the Anchor Everyone else are the Vocal Dancers fitting any where they want
Peace, Love!! Enjoy the rabbit hole!
Chance was bass in Street Corner Symphony. They were also on the Sing Off.
If you want goosebumps listen to How Great Tho Art.
Chance not only hit that low note but carried the bass the entire song too.
Chance is just awesome! I've heard he's releasing an album later this year?? I hope so!
@@roniboyd613 - Yes, I saw him announce it somewhere (maybe with The H&F).
Great reaction guys. Look up "Ain't Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up" another good one is "My Church" also "Cold Hard Cash" a Christmas song.
They sang this in the same key that the original artist (CAM, female country artist) performed it, so yes, it is a "high key". The hero of this performance is Adam Rupp, the human drum kit.
Tim and Chance grew up with both Cajun and Mexican food. Tim, in particular, loves his spicy stuff.
This is why What the Foust is a favorite saying. Wait till you hear Tim will you still love me tomorrow/Stay! Tim’s range is ridiculous. The guy with the biggest range in Home Free is actually Adam Rupp a favorite tenor! His range is insane! 🤯
And snowglobe....😉🥰
Came to say this!
Adam Rupp can get way up there probably higher than Austin
Perfection. Enough said!! ❤ great reaction
Every one is singing in the key Cam sang it in. In point of fact, among these 5 men, there are 4 tenors, 3 baritones, and 2 bassmen.
More like 5 tenors Adam is also a tenor
I was including Adam; it was Chance I was leaving out, although he has a pretty good range also. 4 octaves, I think.
Love it when Chance gets to show off his bass skills ... he gives the guys an added depth of tone !
Another great "Home Free" stream!
HF concerts usually end around 10pm, so their bedtime is a little later than that. 😉
This is so very awesome! Home Free does it yet again! Love your reactions!
Home Free have some kind of magical powers once you've heard them you're spellbound I luv them!! You 2 guys aren't bad too ❤
Loved your reactions and surprised look on your face. HomeFree definitely is the best out there for me. Their talents have no limit.❤😊
If y'all want more of Chance, check out "Cover Me Up", "I Can't Outrun You", or one of his solos like "If I Could Only Fly"
Your reactions were awesome❤❤
About 5 seconds in, perfect description, "one is blownith of mindith" 😂 Actually, a perfect description for anything they sing!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This and In The Blood are amongst their top covers and they`ve done some crazy covers
This is so amazing. And let's not forget about Adam Rupp's percussion on this. Fabulous.

My understanding is that the last group Tim sang with he was the tenor.
I have watched this probably 5 times since you posted it! Love it.
Oh the joy of watching someone seeing a Home Free song for the first time!
Love Daniel’s little looks to the camera when he knows what’s coming up. The original was by Cam. I heard this one before that one, though
Definitely check out Tim's solo videos. He showcases even a higher register as well as his incredible DEEEP bass.
If you like Tim here, go catch his solo work on "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow". Memory fails me, have you done either "My Church" or "Do You Hear What I Hear" yet ?
Love how this leaves so many reactors gobsmacked. 😂 Now do Take Me Home Country Roads….it’s very different, but the best version I’ve ever heard.
Yes, it is them at their best!
Chance was the bass in his former group, Street Corner Symphony. He’s so underrated!
Thanks Spencer and Daniel - loving the Home Free journey. ❤🍟
Aca-mazing!! ❤❤

And 5 beatboxers. See 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown. There's two live stage versions of that; one with Chris Rupp and one with Adam Chance.
You should add Adam to the list of baritones and probably basses. I wonder what Rob's lowest decent range is.

Chance and Tim switched it up! Tim had an amazing tenor voice and Change has an amazing bass voice!! They can do anything! One od many HF masterpieces!
Definitely check out Tim's solo Doo Wop songs, particularly Will You Still Love Me/Stay or The Bass Gang, Hooked On A Feeling ft. Tim Foust.
Chance is their main baritone, and baritones can also carry the bass if necessary, like he was when Tim sang his solo.
Oh sweetie you think Tim's high in this, check out some of his solo stuff. Even Snowglobe shows his high range!
unusual group... 5 baritones, 5 tenors, 3 basses, 4 high tenors. Pretty deep bench. Great reaction thanks for sharing
All 5 of the guys are so talented! Have you heard "Playing with Fire" yet? it's one of the songs Austin wrote & it's terrific!
Chance was the bass in his old group
Tim has a range of 5 octaves and Adam Chance does great pulling the base line. They are all so talented and versatile.
🤘🔥🤘

This is my fav song from them.
On the outro, the high harmony over Rob is also Tim. He's got 5 and he uses them all.
The best❤
You have got to watch/listen to Home Free "Ain't going down(til the sun comes up)"
😂❤he has 5 octaves at least why we recommend watching after use to them
Tim Foust has a five octave range. Adam Chance (Chance) was the bass for another group before he joined HF.
😂 Great reaction guys!!!
Them: "Everybody's up here!" Me: "Wait for it..." =P
I don't know if you've seen Home Free's rendition of "When a Man Loves a Woman" or Rob & Austin's duet "Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera (on Austin Brown's channel) - both mind-blowers. Love your channel!

PLEASE DO 'BROTHER' BY HOME FREE, LOADS OF FUN
Austin and Rob: Guys we need three tenors to do this right
Tim: I got you; Chance you got bass for this one
Chance: Cool
Adam: ba-dum-tiss
The problem with this band is they are so good u forget there is no instruments and I think that is their downfall
✌🏻😎👍
They all sang this in the SAME key as "CAM" did.
I believe that Chance’s final low note was doubled in production. Not a complaint, nothing wrong with that; just an observation ✌️
It’s sang in original as cam
Chance came as a bass/baritone.
I can do a deep burp like that, after I've eaten a big meal. 😁
