I always say, in reality, Home Free has 5 tenors, 2 baritones, and 2 basses. A young woman named Cam say the original, and these men sang it in her key. A favorite of many. Good reaction.
This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.
You GOTTA react to Home Free "Listen To The Music" another feel good song with awesome vocals! Loved the Reaction! PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING as Home Free deserves it! peace
Adam Rupp sneaks in those really high notes at the beginning of Listen to the Music but if you watch him in the back later you can tell they are from him. Someone said he can even reach higher notes than Austin, but I cannot swear to that.
Home Free can hold their own in any genre. Their unique style and approach to their music adds a little extra something. You never know what surprises Home Free has in store for you. It's worth the watch and listen just to see what they're gonna hit you with next. lol The guys nailed it, nailed it, nailed it. The harmonies and solos were on point, as usual and Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion was extraordinary. Thanks for a great reaction.
@@sallyintucson, Cam is that songwriter, though, who has written some incredible hits for other people. She is just an okay singer, but a phenomenal writer.
One of my Home Free faves. Props for waiting until you were familiar with the guys to where you were able to immediately recognize how they switched things up for this song. Shows their versatility. (With Tim's 5+ octave range, he can go higher.) Also this isn't readily identifiable as 'country' but could cross over to AC, IMO.
You have likely already noticed, the lead singer(s) in most of their videos are typically standing upfront, with background vocals (usually baritone/bass/percussion) literally in the background; that's how you know by a quick glance whether Tim or Chance are covering the bass line. I'd strongly encourage you to check out some of their many originals on their Dive Bar Saints album, so good. HF never disappoints.
I love their cover of this song. They were literally 40 minutes from my house on Sunday and I couldn't go. I was so upset. So close. Maybe next time , but I doubt they will ever be that close again
Something to know about that one is that EVERYTHING you hear on that one is Tim. All harmony, beatbox everything is Tim recorded and layered together. Tim has a 5+ octave range
The original artist is Cam. They sang it in the same key she did. The lyrics make more sense with a woman singing it. Great reaction! Well played on the Chance low note. Most people lose it and it's only a b2.
I agree…listen to Pavarotti’s for reference, come back to this song and listen to Rob’s solo in Mayday, then listen to Two Country Singers Try to Sing Opera (ua-cam.com/video/5dBENngNDhs/v-deo.html). Then tell us what you think about Rob and Austin.
This is why Home Free quickly became my favorite group. Not just a cappella but my favorite group period. Their talent is unmatched. Tim Foust and Adam Rupp are in a class all their own. I have seen many singers with an nice vocal range but I have never seen anyone like Tim with his 5 octaves and bone vibrating base notes. Adam is by far the best beat boxer I have ever seen and he keeps it true and pure. I love watching him preform. Every member of this group helps with sound effects like atmospheric sounds or Chance's guitar and didgeridoo or Tim's base or other instrument sounds. Rob's voice is like pure silk and he has a deeper Operatic voice . Chance is actually a bass singer but sings bass-baritone for Home Free so he has an impressive vocal range as well and Austin, well we all know how beautiful his voice is with those high notes. I loved your reaction, it was perfect.
Yes, Home Free contineus to amaze you. The song with surprises. All the switches they do is amazing. Tim's tenor, Chance's deep bass, Rob and Austin who is taking a different pitch too. Home Free is the group for me. They are so great, but still keep their own identity. No egos.
Ever-so-glad you held off ...... And now you see why! You realized it straight up (got yer focus). So many have requested this reaction when reactors are new to HF; outside of the phenomenal sound ---- they don't know any different (and it's not the reactors fault). I've been with 'em for 7+ yrs ... and still impressed as hell. The audio version was released before the video -- so that opening "tenor" was very hard to figure out "WHO". Absolutely dumbfounding! Be Safe
You might want to check out Rob and Austin sing Nessun Dorma from Austin Brown’s channel. “Two Country Singers Try to Sing Opera” is how it’s titled if I remember correctly.
Okay, you earned a subscription from me! I've enjoyed your content, but this showed you really do pay attention to the group! It's a shock to see Tim singing the tenor and Chance holding down the bass through the whole song. Many reactors don't really catch that. Well done! Keep up the great work!
If you haven't already listen to the Original by Cam. She is really good. The interesting thing is that the Home Free version is in the same key as her's. Amazing.
Great job on this reaction! They are so good!!! If you get a chance to see them live don’t miss it. They are even better live. Keep up the great work!!
For a song about wanting to break up, it’s a pretty catchy tune. Definitely one of my favorite covers of theirs. You should also check out the original version by Cam.
If you haven't seen the audience taken video "Mayday (Live)" it will really blow your mind. It's quite different from the studio video. When Tim sings lead, Chance takes over the bass. Since Tim has 5 octaves he can sort of take any part (see his original "Snow Globe" or his duet with Austin on "My Maria"). Loved your reactions!
Now that you reacted to may day you are ready for going to Tim Faust channel.. And react to one of his solo songs that he did it's a duap I suggest "Will you still love me tomorrow/stay" To get his full range he sings all the parts like a one man acapella group! Or listen to his cover of " In my room " by The Beach Boys
I subscribed to watch your HF reactions. I’ve watched a few others but love loved you home free the best. I miss them and sadly missing your reactions because HF was discarded. We’d all love you to go back. You only have a 1000 videos and other content. Not even a toe into the rabbit hole.
You should react to Home Free's version of Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On. You absolutely must react to Rob and Austin, two country boys trying to sing opera "Nessum Dorma".
Song was released by a stunningly beautiful lady = CAM ..... her version is wonderful as she sings just like she looks !!! Unfair to compare to FIVE PHENOMENAL VOICES IN HARMONY .... with Beat Boxer ... just too much for anyone !!! Home Free is great !!!!
If you think this video is a surprise, check out Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown singing Nessum Dorma in a video titled Two country singers try singing Opera on Austin Brown’s channel,
Wasn’t that good?!! I’m so glad you waited to know everyone’s voices. We ask new reactors to wait until they know Tim is the bass. It’s the old switcheroo. Yeah, we weren’t kidding when we said Tim has a 5 octave range. He can sing lower and higher than most. And Chance is the baritone but was a bass before so this wasn’t hard for him to do. Love the song. The original is by the singer known as Cam. Don’t know her but I love Home Free’s version. Good reaction L8!🥰

And that is why we tell reactors to wait awhile for this video
Amazing how a 5 man acapella group can have 5 tenors, 3 baritones, 2 basses and a beatboxer, that's one of the things that makes them the best
5 beat boxers...you should check out their live version of 9-5 on YT. they do a beat box breakdown
Ummm --- It's a lil better than that I think ....... 5 Tenors, 4 Baritones, 3 Basses and 5 Beatboxers! Huh!?!
@@whyme7996 True dat, forgot about that one
@@whyme7996 was gonna say, they have all done some beatboxing at one point or another.

It's fun how 5 guys can have about 500 voices between them isn't it?
I like to consider this the three tenor version of Home Free. Versatility beyond belief.

Everything about Home Free, individually, and as a group is F***ING BEAUTIFUL!!! 😁 LET'S GO!!!
They brought 3D to this song, for real!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊
Mayday is on a lot of people's fav list - I love everything about this one!! 😍
Cam, a female singer, sang it originally. They covered it in the same key. Amazing.
To be fair, though, Cam is an alto (lowest female voice type; Tim, ironically, can hit higher notes than she can).
I watched her video to see the original. I think HF sounds better.
@@sallyintucson, Cam is that songwriter, though, who has written some incredible hits for other people. She is just an okay singer, but a phenomenal writer.
Yeah, you should see the live version of Josh Turner’s “Your Man” where Tim steps all over Rob and Austin’s turf😂.

(With Tim's 5+ octave range, he can go higher.) Also this isn't readily identifiable as 'country' but could cross over to AC, IMO.
I personally think Chance coming into the group adds such flexibility because he can sin bass and we get crazy stuff. YEAH!!!

If you want to see/listen to Tim sing more tenor, check out Snowglobe
Definitely!!
You know Tim wrote Snowglobe! 💕
Also if you want a completely different musical space, Rob and Austin do a serious rendition of the aria Nessun Dorma from the opera Turandot.
Check Pavarotti’s version for reference.
