I served with the 1/14 inf in Vietnam. We were 25th inf until Aug 1st 1967 when we were switched to the 4th division. Myself and the rest who served with me never ever considered ourselves as 4 th inf soldiers. When the 25th left Vietnam, so did the 1/14th, and were switched back to the 25th. Now, as then, I consider myself as a golden dragon, 25th inf division.

Great video and earned a like from me. I wore both the 1/5th and the 3/22. I started out in the 25th as a Bobcat 1980's. But during my time there, the Bobcats went to Korea. I suppose it was easier to deactivate the unit reactivate it in Korea rather then to move our entire battalion. So we became the 3/22. But I'll always be a Bobcat at heart.

Served with the 1/8 artillery as a counter mortar radar operator from Oct . '66 to Oct. '67. Very happy to get back to the "world" three months before TET.

I truly enjoyed the video, it's very informative. Loved the part where you explained how a medal display frame is arranged in the correct order.

Why nothing on the 1/19th Infantry Division? They were a part of the 25th ID until 1983. The unit is now stationed at Fort Benning GA.

I was with 1st brigade of the 25th infantry division in Afghanistan. Fought with 3rd battalion 21st infantry regiment which was in the 196th in Nam but was moved to the 25th afterwards. The only infantry unit still in the 1/25 from Nam is 1st battalion 5th infantry. It was strange because we were tropic lightning, but we were stationed in Alaska. So they just called us the arctic wolves instead. I hear they are standing up the 11th airborne to replace the 25th up there now though.

@@3-2bravo49 I knew if you were a Bobcat you would recognize that. For sure, great to connect with a brother. Of course, that was 36 years ago for me. At that time, the 1/5th was in F-Quad. Had the opportunity to go back the last time I was on Oahu just prior to Covid. They had changed F-Quad a lot since I left.

@@DaleBrose I was actually with 3/21 but one of my closest friends was with 1/5 and we fought together in the same area of operation once they figured out things were way too nasty for just one unit in the area. I consider anyone from 1/5 a brother.

@@3-2bravo49 Well OK. This is going to sound terrible of me, but again, this we more than 30 years ago.
But towards the end of my time on Schofield, the Bobcats were rotating into Korea. So the deativated us as the 1/5th and reactivated us as something else. I always thought it was the 3/21st. But looking at the crests in the video I thought, maybe I was wrong and it was the 3/22.
So you would know. Who were the Gimlets? Is that the 3/21st, because thats what we reactivated as.
