Remember pleiku ... I was in the Army. . Home base but spent all my time in the Central Highlands... Welcome Home All. Memories not forgotten but... Long Past.
I was there in 69-70 Pleiku AB looked quite different. At that time AF Security Police had all perimeter security. We had our own mortars, K-9. and SAT, towers. I got out of there in July 1970. Bless all you guys that preceded me.
Most of the indigenous people were Montagnard mountain people. Some of them were quite primitive. I was there in 1968. It was a miserable place for the Air Force but like most duty in Vietnam, we had it much better than the Army and Marines.
Got my first "Basket Ride" in Pleiku in '69--- Whew, what a ride ! Shoulda filmed that episode !
