How to make more gpu use in premiere pro when editing gpu only use when i render how can i fix this
Wonderful, Matt! Your export settings video from 2017 was so helpful. I always referenced it. Thank you so much for creating an updated one for 2022!
Matt your export settings videos are the best on YT! You've helped me set up all my settings for all my exports and they always look great on all platforms. Thank you! 😀
I watched your old Premiere pro export settings from wayyy back and now here we are with the new! Thanks again Matt
Thank you Matt, so appreciate all you share with us. This was very helpful. All the best to you & yours & to everyone reading this. Appreciative Pr Pro CC beginner.
Men! When it comes to editing or pc parts, upgrading or not, and what to buy, you are one of the few people that i just trust blindly. Thanks for the valuable content that you do.
Bro! Thank you very much! I learned a lot from you! I subscribed! Keep up the excellent work! : )
Great video Matt. Quick question with your recommendation to watch your 4k settings even if it was done in 1080p would this be the same for gaming videos? Or should I just export as 1080 since the game was playing in 1080?
All this time you still saving my content thanks brother!
Hi Matt, big fan of everything you do and thanks for all the help over the years! Can you please help create a video for creating proxies for different frame rates as it appears you can no longer "reset status" and interpret footage, thanks so much!
Math, very good video, clear and simple. Will you also make one that provide the best setting for UA-cam uploading?
Great refresher man! Certainly needed. One thing that kills me and keeps me away from Premiere is the Gamma and color shift after exporting. Any tips on a solid fix?
Hi Matt I love your videos and have watched almost all of them some of them countless times to get the info down. I historically shoot in slog3 but went pro res raw recently and really loved the workflow, however I am having a hard time exporting it correctly. (Colors all wonky or says codec is not supported) Wondering if you had any experience with that? Or anyone else in the thread. Love to hear from ya and thanks In advance.
Thank you so much for your sharing the best export quality ideas and free preset.
I absolutely hate the new export screen. It’s like Rush but a little more advanced. Like who in the pro creator world asked Adobe to dumb down the import screen and export screen.
This!!!! It’s the worst change in a while! That was the last straw for me I just made the switch to resolve.
absolutely disgusting and it lags too
Agreed I don’t like it either lol
Damn true, the export and the edit windows does not even match the same style. Everytime I open the export window, my brain have to double check if I even in Premiere or not.
Kind of a nuanced question: For most viewers, UA-cam will default to 1080 playback because of weak wifi or viewing on a mobile device. If you export 1080p footage as 4k and upload to UA-cam, will it look worse when played back as 1080p? For example, a client shot a video in 1080, I exported in 2k, and when played back in 2k on UA-cam, it looks fine, but when played back in 1080p it looks pretty crummy.
Thanks!
Hi Matt. Great video. I have a problem since the update. Regardless of settings, i only end up with a 24 mb mp4-video, wich i can't open. The project i 2 hours 48 minutes.. should be around 16GB. Do you know what the problem is?
Thanks bearded brother finally a clear cut explaining.
If you record with an iphone 13, you have to force the video to 1080p format when importing and how to have the fotos in the same format?
What about the desaturation lut that you have to use when exporting? DId they fix that problem already?
Whenever I render the video to Facebook, if I use HEVC H265 encoding, 1080p resolution, after Facebook converts it, the video can only be watched in 720p. I don't understand why and why it will be viewable in 1080p if I use H264 encoding.
Hi. Which version Premiere exactly are you using? Thank you
thank you very much but hardware encoding is not working for cbr 24
Thank you so much for the preset!
Just used these export settings while exporting and my video went up and up on the time it says till it’s finished (5hours) and first time around used media encoder and came to see that it failed. Could this be because of the settings I’m some area?
I have some issues with customers using this format. I know my delivery format is ancient, but I deliver to my clients both via Google Drive link with works fine, and in a USB, which most of my clients connect to their TV's. Most TV's do not support H265, so I end up having to export again with the h264 settings of your old videos, which works fine.
Great video!!
Can Premier Pro run smoothly on i3 Processor 11th Gen when editing 4K footages from a budget Android phone.?? Thanks
I really appreciate these videos and presets, but I’m confused by the encoding time? I have a MacBook Pro M1 with all the highest tier settings, I used the 1080 preset, but my 1-hour 1080 video still says it’s going to take 12 hours. Am I doing something wrong here?
Your preset file below in description can be imported to Adobe Premiere Pro 2021 or 2018...?
Matt, I get an Error Compiling Movie message. Failed to create encoder Error Code: 3. Selector: 9 Any advice?
I noticed you didn't say for uploading to instagram. Since Instagram is so picky with its upload size. Do you suppose still exporting to 1080 is best or do you think still exporting in 4k for Instagram will provide best quality?
Help Matt~! Could you teach how to export HLG video and color grade HLG footages, it much be very helpful.
Thank you for this! But does this work for Instagram as well?
For UA-cam I now this 4k solution. Not for instagram. Is it correct? Thanks
why my 4k videos are only 720p when I upload it on facebook...While my friend can upload 1080 whith his smart phone....By the way I am using the Canon m50...
I went back to my Ru Premiere pro video and it was all red. Offline media or something. I have no clue how to save my videos to send out without this red frame showing up on all my videos that I spend time on. So frustrating.
Can you explain when you should use 100 / 203 / 300 HDR Nits
Have visited here to try and work out why 30 min films, exported to H.265, now create an 8GB file and until very recently they were only 1.5GB…. Cannot get my head around it
Everything works pretty well. If you follow and keep the balance, everything will be fine.
You always save me. Thanks again
I FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTION TO THE TEE. NOW IT IS RENDERING VERY SLOW. A 2:42 MINUTE VIDEO IS TAKING 1 HOUR TO RENDER IT. WHY?!!! SO, I WENT BACK TO MY OLD PREMIERE PR CC AND IT RENDER VERY FAST. IT TOOK LESS THEN 2 MINUTES TO DOWNLOAD IT.
Thank you very much!
I had 15 minutes of 1080 GoPro footage, followed your HD presets and computer said 14 hours to render and export. So I switched to your 1080 steps now its at 6 hours. I feel something is wrong. Deleted video cash from Premiere before I started.
شكرا لك . شرحك جدا رائع :)
Thanks * Matt* that you help alot
Hello Matt Whois Matt Why the Preset Is Not Full HD Its1280x720 Not 1920x1080?
Hey Matt! Question: If I want the quality to be as close to this as possible, but need my file to be a bit smaller, is there anything I can do to make my file more "effective"? Maybe there is a compromise to get it almost identical to the eye, but smaller in file size? Thanks a lot!
Try dropping the bitrate even lower
mind sharing the outdo song u used? :)
24 mbit for h265 and what about h264 for 24 fps video ? 48 mbit?
Very Very Tnx
HI, Matt. What settings do you recommend to deliver a longer documentary edit to a client (1-2 hours)? Do you also recommend using H265? Would you use VBR in this case? If so, what mbps?
I don't think it really matters except you must consider how you are going to send it, if via media, then you will need to consider it's limitations (size/length it can hold) for starters, if doing it via internet, need to consider the bandwidth of service as anything that uploads at 1-2 megabits a second will force you to limit its file size, if it's 10MBPS or greater, usually not an issue, but also consider the other person's ISP as most now will have access to greater than 10mbps down, unless they live in a rural era that does not have good service. At this point, likely H.265 for most ISP's should not be an issue, in fact it should be more efficient, and of better quality than H.264 and it is a playback codec anyway and is often what YT recommends you use, though they may now offer H.265 as an option.
Why I use h265 and captain disappear😊
Will the export setting work on Instagram?
So, you never use variable bitrate?
thank youuuu
hi matt, great explaination. i just wanted to know why does my upscaled footage noww have thin black bars on the side and how can I get rid of them? 1080p timeline following yours steps to export
I realized that the resolution randomly changes to 4k before you start exporting. Just change it back to UHD before exporting and you should be fine. Hope it helps...
@@youtubetime4388 Yeh I figured that out at the time. Thank you for your response. It should help someone else in the future 🙏🏿
What about cinematic instagram reels?
Hi Matt, 60 target bitrate isn't available on CBR setting and 50 is the highest. Is it ok to use 50 if your footage was shot at 60 FPS?
Yes
didnt work for me, i got an error code.
This is amazing!!! Thank you so much for all the information and the help
My adobe premiere pro 2022 doesn't have h265 or quality under bitrate. why is this?
same wish someone would respond
@1:25 --> In order to upscale an HD video to 4k is it necessary to create a 4k timeline first or to start with an HD and change export settings at 4k? Because to your other 4k video export guide, you have a 4k timeline, and not an HD one.
Just set the output resolution while setting your render. Premiere will upscale for you, no need for a 4k timeline.
@@Jmartinezvega Thanks a lot for the information.
Matt! I just used this preset on a series of training videos for a client of mine and it took the 10 minute wait time to 10 hours. Any recommendations on changes for the preset to still increase quality but not have the killer wait time?
same, i guess i dont have a strong enough macbook for this way to do it.
H.264 still has better render time if your hardware is a few years old
my bitrate is max to 20, how
hah, you give for every setting description but for level you just say leave 4.1 . To me default is 5.1 what to do now? 😆
Anything for instagram?
I've been exporting with Matt's setting (from the old video 4k - H264) - For a 6min video would appox 4gb. Now with 4k - H265 - it went to 75gb. Anyone experience the huge difference in file size?
Me right here. I’m trying to export a video and I’m told that it will take 128hrs.
First off, 4K files are much larger, even when compressed so that is why. It's like 2X larger than 1080 files, and if you go from 24 frames to 30 frames, your file size will also grow larger. The larger the file size, the more you have to process.
Hi , very interesting , thanks a lot, The only think is I ve the lastet Premiere pro but the HEVC (H265) it doesn't exist in my format selection only H264.
I would make sure you’re connected to the creative cloud servers. The h265 codec should download when you open premiere pro and it’s connected to the internet.
Ok that's great , thanks a lot
You can't choose CBR and Hardware Encoding simultaneously when changing your settings. You should really check it changes, before you tell everyone that.
Does anybody know if this also helps with clear IG videos without major loss of resolution due to IG decompressing the video?
Same question
Thank you for the video. I have a question thou.
I shot a video with my Iphone X and used these settings to export it after editing.
It has been over 8 hours and Media Encoder has only exported like 50%. I am using a Macbook pro with 8GB RAM and 2,3 GHz Dual Core Intel Core i5.
Why is the export so slow? Am I using the wrong export settings?
Having the same problem. What did you do? I have 8 hours to go. MacPro, 64gb ram, M1 max chip.
@@surfmoto I actually gave up , changed settings and exported in less good quality.
@@bernoGarcia I did pretty much the same thing. Since the video is for UA-cam, I just used premiere’s UA-cam setting and it worked fine.
I;m getting an error on a Macbook pro 16" M1 pro (16gb)
"Error compiling movie.
Out of memory.
Failed to create enconder.

Sounds like you are out of hard drive space
@@whoismatt no, I have plenty, I tried exporting to my local disk and to a external 5tb HD
Maybe it’s some adobe bug
hello Matt, I love your videos and you have THE BEST hidden tricks, my question, I am planning to change to Davinci, have you try it? everyone seems to love it. 🤔
Yes it’s great
@@whoismatt thank you for taking your time 👍. By the way everyone loves my new colors. And I love your lutt no.2 🤩 best purchases I have done
dont know why but when I select the preset, it's already selected frame size as HD(1280x720) and frame rate as 59,94. all the other settings remains the same as you in the video
Ya I had the same question as well
same
thank u
Does H265 still have the same washed out / lack of contrast issue like H264 and QuickTime?
Am I the only one getting a message that I need a new Codec to play the exported video file (which was not happening prior to these custom settings)?
Which mostly worries me that clients won't be able to open the files upon delivery.
I am trying to export a full (30 minute) ceremony video. The H.265 format gives me a SMALLER video size than the H.264, which I was really excited about, because who wants to deliver a 14GB ceremony video lol. The larger H.264 size took me two hours to export, but the H.265 format read as taking over 19 hours to export, with the progress bar not moving AT ALL. It bogs up my media encoder and I always have to force quit. Sad to say, I will be delivering the 14GB ceremony video. :(
Same problem. Any solution?
@@surfmoto nope…. At least not one that I’ve figured out lol
Good video Matt. I am interested to know, if anyone has experimented... We all know that UA-cam further compresses our video. Does the video on youtube looks better if we export it in very high quality like 50Mbps for 1080p, or UA-cam punishes us for uploading very high quality, and compresses it more, so that the medium quality video looks better in the end, when on UA-cam?
Has anyone experimented with that, does anyone know?
No, but I export my videos on CBR 40 with 60 fps and I love the look. I wonder if CBR 50 will make any difference, but truly - I doubt it
so do you have a preset to make computer render faster?...LOL
Last ?
I sent my email for the free presets and never got the link
Check your spam or newsletter folder?
i fucking adore u, you literally saved me !!!
Im here so my video doesnt take a full 24hours to export like the 4k settings he gave.
❤️❤️❤️
Not the first viewer,, but first to comment
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Quick note: Hardware encoding doesn't use your graphics card but it uses your cpu, i watched a tech guy called "android basha" and he did a comparison between all Nvidia 3000s graphics cards from 3050 all the way to 3090ti and they gave him the same export speed which means graphics card doesn't affect your export speed but your cpu does, however your GPU does matter when scrubbing through heavy footage and working with visual effects.
✌
Do something with Final Cut Pro
Hardware encoding is far worse quality than software encoding. It's fine for quick reviews but for final files I wouldn't use it, as well as h264 exports in Adobe or Resolve.
That new export window is absolutely the worst change adobe has ever made 🤮🤮🤮
Thank you very much!
